The property had excellent views and was in a good location. It was easy to get to the grocery store, many beaches and bars/restaurants. There were a lot of bugs and we both got bit by no see ums quite a bit which made things a little uncomfortable. It would have been nice to have better bug repllant or maybe some candles to light.

Seclusion and beauty, we've stayed here twice and love the slower pace of the east side.

The views from the deck are amazing! The cottage has everything that you need from cookware to toiletries and towels. Kat was amazing and made sure that we had everything we needed during our stay. We also used the snorkels that were provided at the property as well as the cooler. We packed lunches to have while at the beach and it was perfect. The only thing that I could possibly say negative about the cottage is the stairs. There are a lot of them so getting luggage up and down can be a little challenging, however, it was manageable and we were fully aware of the steps from other reviews. This property truly is great and was perfect for our family (kids ages 6 and 13)

Family vacation to St John, kids aged 7 and 9. Stairs are no joke but the payoff is privacy, solitude, and amazing views. Well worth it. Kids loved the loft bed area. I loved coffee in the mornings on the deck. Great to come back to AC after days at the beach.

Loved our time here - amazing views, location, and value. Well equipped with effectively everything we needed for a comfortable stay! Only minor complaint would be we wished there were curtains or blinds for the lower level bedroom to block out the morning light (and keep it cooler!). Also a note to future guests: the tile on the screened-in porch gets VERY slippery when wet (don’t ask how we figured that out lol)

The Blue Wrasse was truly a one-of-a-kind property. A sweet little cottage to return to after long days exploring the island and all its offerings; beaches, ruins, history, cultural experiences. Our 3 little boys were snug in the downstairs bed and the kitchen futon and we slept in the loft. Of note, the loft is a low ceiling and a ladder up that we didn't think our kids could navigate for nighttime bathroom trips. We'd planned to use the toddler bed that we didn't find there, but we didn't ask about it and instead made do with the comfy futon. The AC and fans kept us cool at night + sweet morning sunrise to wake to. Burgers and smoothies on the deck one night - so memorable! Our middle kid celebrated his birthday while at the house - he will not forget blowing out candles with that view. Two full rainbows happened while at the cottage. We really appreciated the snorkel gear, sand toys and beach chairs - that saved us $ for sure. Our cistern was dry for 2-3 days so we had to strictly limit water use, but the property manager was so apologetic and kept us up to date about when the cistern would be filled. The island is having a drought, so know that you'll have to limit your showers and be creative to find laundry on the island (go on weekday early am to Cruz Bay - we had no luck in the afternoon). Considering the incomparable beaches, not too big a deal. The kitchen was very well appointed with spices, coffee, oils, great blender. We really prepped quickly for this trip so didn't realize that the roads were so steep everywhere (!!!) or, until pretty late realize that the water isn't potable on St. John (you need to buy water for drinking). It's an adventure! For all those traveling to St. John and planning to snorkel, please be warned that the full-face snorkel masks are very dangerous - there's so much to see under the water including fish, turtles, coral, eel!, squid, octopus, huge starfish, conch... make sure your snorkeling is a safe experience by using flotation devices for everyone, even strong swimmers. You never know if you might need to help out an inexperienced swimmer near you or hit a current. Waterlemon Cay was no joke with that current! Use snorkel masks that have a separate mouth and nose piece so that you can clear your mask easily. Don't miss: early am hike to Ram's Head! Our fave snorkel was at Salt Pond. Baby turtles and HS crabs everywhere!!! This trip was so memorable. Thanks for sharing your sweet cottage with us!

Cottage has beautiful location and smartly-equipped kitchen. The deck is amazing and everything it was described to be. Beds are lumpy and not exceedingly comfortable. The toddler bed which had been pictured in marketing photos was in fact not available and a very inadequate, infant sized portable crib for our 3 year old was instead provided. My biggest concern is that we did not hear that the water was not potable until we landed (late) and could not be sure we were even going o get to a grocery store in time to have anything to drink after long parched journey. For a party of 6, this was an exceedingly inconvenient and wasteful (plastic wise especially with limited recycling on the island) "detail" and people should be informed of it with the overall property description to make a fair choice for their party. In contrast to some of the inadequacies, the property manger, Kate, was extremely responsive and helpful!

This is a little piece of heaven. Sitting out on the deck in the morning with my coffee was great while I watched the iguana sun himself in the nearby tree. BBQ'ing and watching the sunset were also very enjoyable. The swing is a nice touch to sit out in the evening and enjoy the weather. The bedroom was comfy and the outdoor shower was pretty cool. All in all, we enjoyed our time here very much and will definitely come back if possible!

This is our second time staying at Blue Wrasse. The cottage is magical and has all the functions one needs while in St. John. The wi-fi is generally excellent and the kitchen is supplied with top notch items. We had an amazing stay. Thank you!

This was our 1st trip to STJ and Blue Wrasse did not disappoint. The cottage description and details shared were spot, making our trip that much more enjoyable. It felt like were living in a tree house. The views of Coral Bay and the surrounding islands were spectacular! If you like a low key vibe while on vacation, the east side of the island is a great choice.

We had a great experience renting this property. It was very clean, pictures online are accurate, and property manager was very responsive. The views are outstanding from the deck, kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed the quiet town of Coral Bay. We plan on returning and renting this same house - we really enjoyed it.

We are just returning from a week at Blue Wrasse. This was the perfect home base for us. Our kids are 8 and 10 and loved the downstairs bedroom to call their own. We (parents) felt like kids again in the loft space. The cottage is in close proximity to restaurants and markets in town (3-5 mins) and a beautiful drive to beaches within 20-25 minutes. We spent our week exploring the island, finding a different beach each day, and always found our return to Blue Wrasse to feel like home with the most incredible view. You can easily cook in or eat out. Wi-Fi is great if you need it. Cruz Bay is an easy 25 minutes - the drive itself is an adventure so you would never even know 25 minutes had gone by…If you are looking for a place to feel connected to nature and disconnect from the busy day to day, this is it! This is a wonderful villa. Nicely situated above Coral Bay with a great view of the water. Very clean and comfortable for us as a couple (and could definitely accommodate a few more). Beautiful inside and out and our hosts were very helpful! We would definitely stay here again!

My best friend and I wanted to get away for a girls weekend and this was the perfect spot in St. John for some R&R. We rented a car in St Thomas, ferried to St. John, and drove over from there. We really enjoyed the quietness of this side of the island while still being close (about a 30 minute drive) from the restaurants and things to do in Cruz Bay. The property was easy enough to find, just make sure you save the directions the host provided (Google/Apple maps was not accurate) on your phone as internet connection can get spotty on the way there. The property itself has stunning views at all times of the day, though our favorite was sitting out on the porch in the morning and getting to watch the sunrise while drinking our coffees. All that you can hear is the birds around you and the occasional goat or rooster crow. The beds were comfy and the place was clean so we couldn’t ask for much more. The host was super communicative with us when we arrived and made sure we found the spot and had everything we needed for our stay. The property had brand new beach chairs, a cooler, various sand toys and snorkeling gear which we really appreciated. I really cannot recommend this enough if you’re looking for a place to disconnect (they do have WiFi though) and relax in a beautiful location.

We selected this rental based on the description of the listing, the price and the reviews. Everything was very accurate and just perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 8 year olds). We did a lot of hikes and beaches. A different one every day. Once we got home at the end of the afternoon, we would just chill on the deck. The view is just so exceptional and just like the listing pics. The wifi reception was great (unfortunately we had to work some..,) and phone service as well (ATT) + there was a little desk in the bedroom, separated from the living room. Towels were great as well (we had brought our beach towels just in case...but it was not necessary). Very well equipped kitchen and grill. A well deserved 5/5!

What a beautiful view and adorable property for our week away! We enjoyed being on the quiet side of quieter St. John (as compared to St. Thomas). Easy drive in our rented Jeep to any/all beaches. Lovely to grill and eat dinner on the beautiful deck each evening. We hope to come back some day!

The place was amazing. It was a fun secluded cottage with just about every amenity covered. Certainly not a complaint but be aware that the bedroom ceilings are quite low. My partner is 6’ and bumped his head in the dark a few times. Beautiful place!

This was our 2nd time staying at Blue Wrasse. We love the Coral Bay side of St John and this home is perfect for the 2 of us. Great views and amenities- exactly as described and pictured. Thank you again for a wonderful stay- we will definitely be back again!

Wonderful location for our week-long trip to Saint John. Just a quick ride down the hill to Coral Bay for easy access to the east end restaurants and only 10-15 minutes from the south side beaches. The cottage is small in size but has grand in views. I had planned several locations to take sunrise photos, but ended up sitting on the deck with my coffee every morning because the view of Coral Bay with the BVIs on the horizon were so beautiful. My kids loved the cute, anols/lizards and hermit crabs that hung around outside near the deck. Has all the necessities. including snorkel gear, beach chairs and a cooler. If you're not elderly or very young children, the stairs were fine - very well lit at night. The photos are very accurate. Highly recommend!

We never grew tired of the spectacular view! We loved the open-air bathroom, and the cute cottage had everything we needed, even equipment for the beach and snorkeling. As per the description, the 99 steps were not for the faint of heart, but it led to a little piece of paradise!

My fiancée and I enjoyed our stay at Blue Wrasse. Clean, well designed place with excellent views overlooking Coral Bay. The number of steps to and from Blue Wrasse cannot be understated. Highly recommend for folks under 40 and in good health.

We had such an amazing time in St. John staying at Blue Wrasse cottage. We really enjoyed this small cottage like home. Very quite & conveniently located. We loved sitting on the swing in the evenings. Property manager was extremely quick & helpful with all questions we had. The stairs aren't that bad, we got use to them quickly and they were a good wake up in the mornings. Would recommend & hopefully we'll be back soon.

Our stay was fabulous at Estate Carolina. The view was breathtaking And so relaxing after the hustle and bustle of the beaches. Everything was well equipped and super clean.

My family of five stayed at the Blue Wrasse Villa and loved it! The views are amazing, and we appreciated all the details in the home. The cottage is very well appointed. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner on the beautiful deck, relaxing in the porch swing, and sleeping in the fun loft and cozy downstairs apartment space. We were grateful for all the beach equipment provided - snorkeling gear, beach chairs, football, etc. My husband and I honeymooned on St. John ten years ago, and we took our kids (ages 8, 7, 6) back for our 10th anniversary. This was the perfect place to stay and celebrate together!

Me and my daughter had an amazing time here! Caroline was absolutely wonderful. Was there for anything we needed. My daughter loved the loft and took her naps up there while I took in the gorgeous view. I can’t get over how gorgeous the view was. Whole experience was great from start to finish! Will definitely return!

Great home base for exploring St John! Exactly as described. The Blue Wrasse worked perfectly for our family of 4 (including 2 teens). We especially loved the deck. Caroline was very helpful and quick to respond. I wouldn’t recommend this house for families with small kids or if you have difficulties with stairs.

It fit our family of 4 perfectly. We were even excited to see there were 2 smart tvs! For the price you cant beat such a magical stay. We especially appreciated use of the kids beach toys, cooler, and snorkel equipment. Views everywhere, the pictures did not disappoint. The host was timely with responses to questions as well.

We had a wonderful week on St. John. The house was just as described. The views are breathtaking. My children loved the loft and outdoor shower, and my seven year old said she wanted to take this house home with her! The stairs are a bit of a workout but manageable. We would certainly stay here again, this was a perfect home base for our Virgin Islands National Park adventure.
