We had the most relaxing stay at Verna’s cottage. Close proximity to all that Crosslake has to offer! Actually, we didn’t want to leave. Will be returning soon!

It was excellent. The cottage is very charming, the screen porch is wonderful, and the master bed was super comfy (that was the only one we used). It is very close to town as the crow flies. We saw groups from our area walking into town. It is doable, but not ideal. It is in a very peaceful area, and you can see a little of the lake by looking through the lots across the street. There is a nice firepit area in back, and the gardens in front are beautiful. I didn’t realize it, but there are two baths: one large, full one off the master and a half bath outside the second befroom. If you want a lovely place to stay without spending $500+ a night in Cross and you don’t have a big crowd, choose this location!

We love the older construction and interior arrangement and decorating. The screened in porch is wonderful as is the back deck. The location is well suited for our needs. Hope to return again.

Our base while meeting family and attending a wedding. Loved the screened in porch. Great neighborhood to walk, which we did daily. Beautiful wildlife, eagle nest and deer in the area. Beds very comfortable. We enjoyed the fun decor of antiques and collectibles.

Lovely house surrounded by woods in a secluded area. We saw deer right in the yard and could hear the loons. Front and back porch and screened in room ideal for reading. If you need quiet and privacy this is perfect.

I spent 6 days at Verna’s cottage and each day was wonderful. Verna is a great host, the cottage is clean and stocked with everything you need. The screened in porch was a favorite hangout of mine. Verna was even gracious enough to allow me to pick fresh vegetables from her garden! Oh and the bed in the master bedroom was incredibly comfortable!

Nice, quiet, nature get-away. Woods and flowers all around us. Easy access to town. No TV service, but has wifi, so we watched movies on our laptop. Nice kitchen, and everything we needed to make meals.

My daughter's first impression of this cabin was "super cute." The photos don't do it justice. So homey, with touches of antiques and mermaids. Gorgeous garden. Would definitely stay here again.

This cottage charmed us from the moment we opened the door. The wonderful eclectic decorating makes you feel like you are enjoying a carefully selected collection of art. Ample space for our group of four. We especially enjoyed the screened porch and wandering the gardens. Everything we could possibly need was provided. We can't wait to return next year. Verna and her cottage have earned their five stars!!
