"The Cottage" es una casa de vacaciones ideal para ese momento especial para recuperar su vida durante una semana o dos (o más). The cottage is snug but well laid out. The kitchen is unusually well supplied. The back deck, with grill, table and outdoor shower, is a real plus, as is the front porch..They effectively expand the living space. location is perfect, quiet with an easy bike ride into town. It's well maintained, and Marty, our host, couldn’t have been more friendly, responsive and helpful.

One of the benefits with staying here is the great digging for littlenecks just in front of the cottage. This year they got back at me, I got the “Clam diggers itch” which is caused by a small invisible parasite. The clams were good but I paid the price! ! Next year, a wet suit!

We spent one of our most enjoyable vacations ever at this quaint little cottage. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful, the place was appointed wonderfully, location was great and convenient to so many things! We are definitely planning on returning next year. (Would prefer to keep it a "secret" but had to share as the host is such a great guy and was ready and willing to help us when we had an emergency locking ourselves out of the house.)

This little cottage is perfect for a getaway. It was pristine clean upon arrival. The location (close to town) is so very nice and quiet, with forest on one side of property. Kitchen is well supplied with necessary tools for preparing meals. Internet a little spotty and when we had it, fairly slow. But, other than that, great vrbo house. Will definitely check this house again for future stays.

The home is perfect. Clean! Situated next to a green space, all I heard was crickets and frogs. The owner has provided everything you need for comfort and responds quickly via the app if you have any questions. The kitchen is fully equipped. The front porch is the perfect place for an end-of-day glass of wine or coffee in the morning. It's an easy 10-15 minute drive into Newport but don't skip visiting the town center of Jamestown. I hated to leave. If you're thinking about staying here, don't hesitate.

My husband and sister in law were with me in Jamestown to visit their grandsparents' neighborhood from the 50s and 60s. The cottage was spotless and well equiped. Tasteful and comfortable. Marty was very responsive to any questions. We just wished we could stay a bit longer!

A wonderful location, wonderful museums such as the New Bedford Whaling Museum, great zoos such as the Roger Williams Zoo, great restaurants, Beach, Jamestown Bakery, Jamestown Deli, Slice of Heaven, Plumb Beach Bistro just to name a few. Beaches, lighthouse , endless places to explore! What more could you ask for in a vacation?

This little gem was perfect for my wife and me. It was exactly as advertised - Not a huge house but very well stocked, comfortable, in a quiet area but only a short drive to all types of activities. Only minutes from Narragansett and Newport. We had a great time wandering around Fort Wetherill State Park in Jamestown as well as the "downtown" area along Narragansett ave where there are plenty of nice places to eat. Another day we took a trip into Newport to do the Cliff Walk. Here is a great tip...Park at the Newport Transportation and visitor's Centre. The city trolleys are free during the summer and the driver will give you a voucher that will lower the parking to $5.00. If the driver has none, go in the visitors centre and ask for one.
Host Marty was an absolute joy to deal with. All our questions were answered promptly and accurately. He even provided a big bag of ice in the freezer so we could enjoy a nice cold beverage after a long drive to Rhode Island. The front and back decks are spacious and great for relaxing with a morning coffee or a glass of wine at the end of the day.
We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Was true to site listing and an easy ride to the bridge off island. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the side chair in living room and add an ottoman. Appreciated the savings offered by bringing own sheets and towels. Weather was not the best, but the cottage was cozy and dry. Would rent again!

I never leave reviews, but this place was so perfect for our cozy Fall girl's weekend that I couldn't resist! It's the perfect home base to get to Newport, and you are also close to Jamestown which has some great restaurants and views. The place was so clean and had everything we could need/want. You can't go wrong!

We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The cottage was extremely clean and had everything we needed to make our stay pleasant. The location was less than 10 mins to restaurants and points of interest. The drive to Newport was also 10 minutes away. I highly recommend the cottage and Marty’s hospitality and well thought out conveniences.

Quaint cottage in a beautiful part of RI
The cottage is lovely! It's easily accessible and a perfect location for either going to the waters edge of for a quick trip into town. Jamestown has some of the best restaurants in RI so you don't have to go far for a great meal. The cottage has an "Outdoor" shower, as well as an indoor shower, but the outdoor shower was our favorite.We had the best stay we have anywhere in a long time! We can't wait to go back next year!

Private Cottage
The cottage was clean, well equipped and located in the quiet community of Jamestown across from Newport. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was nice to come "home" and relax after a busy day of activity. Jamestown was lovely.....even though one major restaurant had closed. Would highly recommend for the accomodations and location.

Perfect place to stay in one of our favorite places; Jamestown is the best!
We just returned from a week at The Cottage. To begin with, Marty was excellent to deal with, from the reservation, to the check in, to the stay, and even the departure. Simply a terrific host.
The Cottage is as described....cute, cozy, indoor and outdoor living spaces, and only minutes to everything. Many of the reviews mention the outdoor shower; we (three adults) never used the indoor one! Part of the overall experience, and a lasting memory.
The house is well equipped, as described. The three window A/C units did the job, even with a few hot and humid days. Marty gives you access to the garage, which was great to store our bikes. We loved every time we headed to town seeing the beauty of the Newport Bridge, and actually caught a full moon coming up UNDER the bridge as it rose. Amazing.
I would say the only thing we could have used in the kitchen was that wasn't there was a large bowl for pasta and/or salad. We made do with using a pan instead. There was even a large vase, which came in handy as a visitor brought flowers.
Finally, we only gave a 4 for location. Just know that it is on one of the main roads which was always busy, and during our week was extra loud as there were constant construction vehicles doing road paving.
I have a feeling we will be back to The Cottage. Thanks Marty!

A wonderful Summer!
We spent 6 weeks at Marty’s this Summer and had a wonderful time. House is clean and well appointed with everything you need, especially in the kitchen. Outdoor shower and window A/C units in every room were perfect as it was a very hot Summer. Short ride or 20 min walk to town for coffee and breakfast, 5 mins to Newport and 15 mins to Narragansett. All of our meals at the house were out on the deck with the grill which was lovely. There’s also beach chairs which is super handy so you don’t have to bring your own. Marty was available at a moments notice for questions (even sailing recommendations!) and for a few small things that needed to be attended to at the house. Not a ton of indoor living space but was fine for 2 of us and any time we had friends or family to stay, we spent most of the time outside.

Great Cottage
Loved this cottage. So close to restaurants, shopping and the ferry which we took twice to Newport. So much better than driving across the bridge. "Downtown" Jamestown is so close that my husband actually walked into town every morning. Lots of room for two couples and the outdoor shower was wonderful. The front porch was great for having coffee in the morning and the back porch was nice for evening meals. It was super hot the week we were there so the window air conditioner was a life saver for sleeping at night in the master bedroom. The window a/c in the living room helped tremendously with the rest of the cottage. Thanks Martin for thinking of your renters. We would defintely return.

We enjoyed our stay in Jamestown and at the cottage. It was clean, comfortable and looked just as portrayed in picture. Enjoyed walking down the street to the water and some magnificent homes and a concert in Jamestown one evening, shopping and eating in local restaurants. Loved how close it was to Newport.

Every year, my mom and I choose a new getaway for a week vacation and like to stay in a cabin of cottage. This year we were exceptionally pleased with our choice. The Jamestown cottage was perfect!
The cottage is a very well kept property. Immaculate interior with all the basics provided. Excellent intructions provided by Marty, the owner. The two of us spent 7 days over Thanksgiving and the location was excellent for all the visiting we did. Quiet and peaceful location.Very cozy and comfortable cottage. Newport is just minutes away. View of Newport Bridge and a short walk to the water's edge.
Our two favorite Jamestown restaurants, Slice of Heaven and J22, did not disappoint!
We highly recommend this Cottage! Hope to be back soon.

Quiet comfortable
Everything was neat and clean. I had emailed the owner Marty so I knew what was supplied and what was not. Very cold last week but heating system was fine. Plenty of hot water. Used dishwasher once worked fine. Cooked nice meals for myself and my daughter saved money on restaurants. The only thing is the driveway, had few inches of snow and it was not easy scaling steep driveway. Other than that everything else was fine. Would stay there again.

Marty's cottage was in the perfect location for exploring Jamestown and Newport as well as many other places in New England. It had everything we needed for our week long stay.We even picked up fresh seafood at Anthony's in Middletown to cook for dinner one night along with steaks we prepared on the grill.The cottage was perfect for our two couple get away. Great Little Cottage
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage in Jamestown. We were working at the boat show all week so didn't have too much time to enjoy the deck, but the house was really clean and comfortable. The kitchen had all the basics for cooking. Great to have a grill. The bath is very tiny but workable. All in all a great place to stay. Thanks Marty!

Great well maintained and cared for home.
We had a wonderful relaxing time at this comfortable home in a great location, close to everything. Nice restaurants including a cute little taco shack nearby. Went to Middletown one day and had a fun time at the Christmas Tree Shop. We liked being able to walk down a little road across the street to get to the water. Close to one of our favorite places, Beautiful Beaver Tail. We also thoroughly enjoyed the front porch and back deck at different times of day. We also appreciated the little things that we didn't think to bring like hand soap and dish towels. We can't wait to go back to Jamestown. Such a quaint, peaceful and friendly place. Thank you Marty!

Pristine and Perfect
We stayed here for a week and loved it. We used it as a base for day trips to Connecticut, Massachusetts and of course, Newport. It is very, very clean. The kitchen is fully equipped, and although we did not do so, you could easily cook a large meal. It is very quiet and peaceful. The village offers some wonderful restaurants. We had the opportunity to meet Marty. He is terrific! We would love to come back and stay here again. This is a cozy place with lots of charm.

Cozy, comfy & functional
My wife and I just finished our second stay at this cottage. The place is very functional and a great place to hang out and relax while being convenient to the center of Jamestown and Newport and all this area has to offer. We highly recommend staying here. The owner is very responsive and interested in making your stay comfortable. The cottage is perfectly sized for one or two couples or a couple with small children.

The Perfect Getaway
This was a wonderful cottage with a wonderful owner. Everything went perfectly, from arrival to departure. The accommodations were perfect for me, my husband and our two children and communication from the owner was excellent. The house was quite lovely and very well equipped. It was a lovely quiet area too and the kids even enjoyed playing outside with the fireflies in the evenings! Such a nice place to relax for the week.
A special thanks to the owner for being so understanding when my husband's boss wouldn't let us leave on time. We know exactly where we will stay and where we will recommend others stay when in the Jamestown area!

Perfectly Charming Cottage!!
My husband and I took this cottage for three weeks and were so very content there! Well appointed furniture; household set up well; clean; plenty of drawer storage. Marty was very helpful. Our favorites: outside shower, front porch, wooded side and back yard. Made us feel private, relaxed. Good location and not too busy of a street with easy access. Easy shopping in town for supplies. Our stay could not have been more perfect and we will return!
