We really enjoyed this property, it is centrally located, very clean and well appointed. The pool was wonderful on days we didn't feel like going to the beach. Very spacious and beautifully furnished. Will definitely come back to Melelina Hale!

This home as EVERYTHING you want or need for a wonderful stay on the island! It's comfortable, spacious and well-appointed. With several outdoor spaces, everyone could stretch out and enjoy the sunshine! And the pool was such a hit with all ages!

We were so pleased with the house and was a great place to relax after venturing out on the island during the day. The location and view was perfect we couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The house had everything we needed, and then some and communication with the host was great. We would definitely love to go back again!

We just got home and our family expressed how much they had missed our time spent in the house! The house revealed itself as immaculate and significantly more spacious in person, surpassing what the pictures had portrayed. The kitchen proved to be equipped with an extensive array of cookware, dishes, utensils, along with a well-stocked selection of ingredients and spices, perfectly accommodating our large family’s culinary needs. The dual balconies offered breathtaking views of the ocean and the sunset, a sight that truly left us in awe. Situated conveniently close to the beaches, shopping outlets, restaurants, as well as major stores like Costco and Walmart, the location couldn’t have been more ideal. Our arrival was greeted with delightful assortment of our favorite fruits including avocados, papayas, and pineapple. Even during our exploration of other parts of the island, my family’s desire to return early to enjoy the house’s pool. Rachel, we want to convey our sincere gratitude for your generosity and in accommodating our early arrival. We eagerly look forward to more extended stay at your home when we revisit Kona. The house was great except for the AC, which didn't work properly for 4.5 out of 8 days. The problem was reported on Day 1 when we checked in and again on Day 4 when the temperature was simply intolerable. The problem was blamed on abnormally high temperatures, global warming, climate change, etc., but ended up being a clogged drain with an automatic shutoff and very low freon. On Day 5 of 8, the AC was fixed and worked Great! BTW: the owner did offer a refund if I opted to move to a hotel, but we had already spent heavily on provisions with nowhere to keep them. It was a generous offer, but I would have been much happier if the AC had been checked out prior to our arrival.

Close to stores, and all things needed were included... Pool was a plus, and washer/dryer was also helpful as was the air conditioner... Overall this was an A-Plus family vacation.

We tried 3 times to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary (3years late due to Covid). Had to cancel twice with the owner who was so very understanding. The house was beautiful and very accommodating!! Exceeded our expectations!! The house was very clean, well kept, the pool was excellent! Thank you very much!!

The house was spotless, well stocked and quiet. We arrived to a beautiful fruit basket and candy. Cold drinks in the refrigerator. By far the best rental we have ever been in.

We have stayed in a few VRBO properties but this one was our favorite. Communication with Rachel was great. House and location was perfect. The grandkids loved the pool and didn't want to leave because they loved the house so much.

We LOVED this house. The pool and yard are beautiful. The kids had so much fun the pool. Everything you need is there including tons of beach towels, beach chairs, toys, umbrellas and coolers. The house has 2 beautiful lanais to watch the sunset. Did I mention a view of the ocean? There's also amazing living space featuring a room with a TV and a "quiet room " for those who would rather read. I truly hope to rent this house again.

This property was perfect for us. We were 2 families with children (8 people total) and there was so much room for us to spread out. The house was way bigger than we expected! The location was great, close to all Kona has to offer but in a quiet neighbourhood. We used all the pool toys, beach toys, snorkel gear and the coolers were so awesome to pack lunches for days we decided to venture out and explore the island. The kitchen was incredibly well appointed - we had everything we needed to cook most of our meals at home. Amazing place, would definitely choose Rachel’s property again!

This is our second time here at this beautiful, well-stocked house. Everything went smoothly, plenty of room for us, nice pool...no problems whatsoever. Love it here!

Melelina Hale was the perfect getaway location for our little extended family. Pictures of the home on the VRBO website did not disappoint. Plenty of space for all to gather together or to find a quiet area to relax and read. Host Rachel quickly responded to any questions or concerns. The house was well stocked with necessities which was so appreciated. We are already missing sunsets on the lanai! Mahalo Rachel

OMG rented this fabulous house in Kailu for the first time Owner supplied everything that you need for a island vacation.the house and property were spotless when we arrived.I cook a lot and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes.pots.& pans i could have fed 30 people.The bedrooms were also well stocked and the beds were great.we had 4 adults & 2 teenagers staying there and the house was stiill big enough for more.when i come back in 2 years I hope this house is available because its the first thing im going to book .

We had an amazing time at this house. I can’t say enough good things. This is the most well equipped rental I’ve ever stayed in. They have everything from condiments, cooking supplies, toiletries, hair dryer, laundry detergent, pack n play, high chair, stroller, beach toys, snorkels/masks/fins (a bucket full). Rachel is also very responsive, the beds are comfy and there is plenty of room for people to spread out on 3 different lanai’s. Thank you so much for having us!!

There were seven of us ,family and friends ,that stayed at Rachel’s beautiful house. Cannot say enough about the location the cleanliness of the house and just having everything that you could absolutely need for week long or even longer stay. The location was wonderful the views terrific and just generally one of the best places we have ever stayed in Kona and we go To Kona every year. I also cannot say enough about Rachel the owner of the house. She was extremely responsive and made sure that we had everything that we needed. I would very highly recommend staying at Rachels home. We will definitely stay there again next year.

This property is beautiful and very well appointed. Rachel has literally thought of everything! The pool was wonderful when we were at the house, the extra family room was great to spread out. We enjoyed the delicious welcome basket and used all the beach equipment & towels. The only reason I gave 4 stars on online description is that the pictures on VRBO could be updated to better reflect the layout of the home and updated bathrooms. Also, a side note, while the furniture is completely adequate, it is not the most comfortable couches. They have a very Hawaiian vibe, but I would personally ditch then for something more comfortable. The 4 stars on location and neighborhood I want to explain. The neighborhood is perfectly located with ocean view, 5 minutes to downtown & the ocean, 15 to the airport if you catch the red lights. My only issues was the noise from the cars who do not respect the 25 mph and make a lot of noise on the master bedroom side of the house. Of course this is nothing Rachel can control, so no reflection of her. Just an FYI if you are looking for seclusion and quiet. Overall, we could not have found a house more perfect for our family time in Hawaii! We celebrated our 20 yr anniversary, our son and daughter-in-law's honeymoon, a 10 yr olds birthday, and a surprise engagement! We had 3 couples, 1 teen, and 1 child in our group. Plenty of space for all. Mahalo Rachel! I am hoping this is the beginning of a long and repeating relationship where we can stay over and over! Blessings to you!

We’ve stayed in many VRBO properties over the years, this by far is my favorite. It is bigger than the images indicate, there is so much space. The best stocked property we’ve ever had. It has everything thing you need and more. The backyard and pool was truly a paradise. It’s a quiet neighborhood and away from the hectic areas of town. The AC unit saved us as we traveled in hot August, it helped us be able to sleep at night. There were towels, beach toys, pool toys, kids snorkeling gear, beach chairs, coolers, an ice maker in the fridge and so much more. This unit was clean and beautiful. Communication with the owner was perfect. I can’t say enough good about this place. Enjoy spending time in paradise here!!

Rachel’s home was perfect! We cannot say enough good things about this property. The layout was good, plenty of space to spread out and having 4 full bathrooms was great when 6 people are trying to get ready. The pool area was so nice, there were plenty of pool and beach toys as well. It was the perfect location for all the places we wanted to see around the island. It was convenient to grocery stores, the airport and town for dinner! We were not ready to leave at all, my nephew even said we have to come back and stay in this house! Mahalo Rachel!

What a wonderful property and host! Before we arrived, every little question I had was answered promptly. Once we got there we were greeted with a lovely welcome basket full of Hawaiian produce including the biggest avocados I'd ever seen! The house was spotless. There were plenty of supplies, cooking utensils, washer, dryer, beach towels, shower necessities. I could go on and on. We all (three families - our sons and our grandkids) loved the place and all that it had to offer. Thank you for helping with our once in a lifetime vacation!

Before our stay, I had never rented vacation property before, so I didn't know what to expect. The entire process was easy, and to say that our jaws dropped when we pulled into the driveway doesn't come close to actual. The home was absolutely beautiful, spacious, CLEAN!, well-stocked with everything we needed until we could get to the stores. The pool was pristine, albeit a bit cold because it’s still early in the season. Instructions were clear and thorough. Communications with the owner Rachel were stellar! She responded quickly to every question I had. We didn’t want to leave. THANK YOU for letting us stay in your beautiful home … the bar has now been set extremely high for any future vacation rentals I get.

It was the perfect house for our 52nd Reunion. There were seven of us and we each had the perfect accomodations. We really enjoyed that there were unique places for breakfast outside next to the pool, cocktail hour in the gazebo, dinner in the spacious dining room, and the front verandah for watching the sunset. The pool was also just the right size. Each of us constantly commented on how great the house was for our gathering.

The house was spacious and very clean! The backyard was great for entering and has a nice pool! We had our wedding reception there with 14 people and it wasn’t crowded at all! The only little issue was the traffic noise on the street on the side of the house in the morning and evening on the work days.

The house was just as pictured and was perfect for our stay. The sunsets and views of the ocean were great. The pool was cold but a great place to relax and catch some sun. Location was close to everything we wanted to see and the house was stocked with everything we needed to cook and relax. We will be back.

The house is very well laid out. Each couple had plenty of privacy including private bath and porch. The kitchen is huge and had everything we needed to cook multiple meals. There were beach and snorkeling accessories as well as enormous amount of towels. The grill worked great and even came with some Kona grill mats. The neighborhood was quiet at night, yet very close to town for beaches, shopping and restaurants. The highlight had to be the stunning sunset view from the 2 porches on the second floor. Rachel was super responsive when we had questions.

House is very well stocked. Perfect for a family with kids. They evenn had pack n plays and stroller. Water toys and snorkels for the kids were a bonus!

Wonderful stay, wonderful house. The two patios were fantastic to watch the sunset from. I would 100% recommend renting this home to anyone.
