Doug was easy to communicate with and he has a fully stocked condo, in a beautiful and convenient location. Steps from the beach, restaurants, and shopping. We had an amazing time and can't wait to return.

Overall, one of the nicest and most convenient places we have stayed away from home. Condo has everything you need for preparing meals with fully stocked kitchen and grills by the pool. Doug has just about everything you would need. We used the couch pull-out bed and roll-away bed. Both were great for sleeping. Everything was clean. The washer and dryer were a godsend. Aloha!

We loved staying here. Perfect location and a great beach spot and so conveniently located next to all the restaurants and stores. We especially appreciated our specific unit; between the awesome lanai, great views, comfortable beds and fully stocked owners closet with Beach and snorkeling gear, we really couldn’t have asked for anything more.

We really enjoyed our week at the Whalers. Loved the view. There was always lots of the comings and going’s with catamarans taking groups out for tours. There were parasailing boats as well. We found there was plenty of delicious restaurants within walking distance when we didn’t want to cook. We thought the kitchen in the condo had everything we needed and we appreciated the little personal touches of bathroom toiletries, tissues, laundry detergent & softener, plus dishwasher soap and Dawn. There were also plenty of hand soap dispensers. Having our own washer/dryer was a plus. We didn’t use the beach equipment but it was well stocked. We had a fun, relaxing week!!! Thank you!

The condo was spacious and very well appointed. It was beautifully decorated and fully equipped with everything we needed for a wonderful Maui vacation. We enjoyed the view of the ocean from the balcony, even spotting whales in the distance now and then. The condo is in a very good location. The beach is great for walks, either on the sand or on the paved walkway. Next door to the condo building is a shopping center with great shops and restaurants. Doug’s instructions were so helpful, not just for the condo information, but also for helping us plan our stay. Overall, it was the perfect place to stay.

The location is fantastic and easy to get to, and the condo provides a great array of beach gear that is very handy to have. We had everything we needed for the stay and enjoyed both the pool and the beach, as well as the ease of access to the next door shopping/eating center. The owner was extremely accommodating when we asked to set up a late checkout, going far out of his way to arrange something comfortable for an elderly parent. His help was very much appreciated.

The Whaler condo is located in the best location on Kaanapali! The condo itself is very modern, exceptionally clean and well-stocked (for example, ziplock bags, snorkeling gear for kids and adults, lawn chairs, floaties). The beds, including sofa sleeper were very comfortable. We watched the sunset on the lanai (that extends the entire length of condo, and has separate slider from main bedroom), we walked next door to Whalers Village multiple times a day, and enjoyed the pool, and hot tub, and beach outside our front door, daily. Perfect condo for family, as it is really spacious.
We will stay here again! Thank you for an unforgettable vacation!!!

My family and I loved this condo. I've been to Maui at least 13 times and this is the nicest condo I've ever stayed in. We used every bed and even the fold out couch and I slept on that and it felt like heaven. All the decor was high-end and everything was stocked very well. There was even a closet with flotation devices and other toys board games and an umbrella. I'm definitely going to save this condo for future visits to Maui.

This unit was terrific. Very clean and just as described, I wish I could live here. The condo is exceptionally well stocked with absolutely everything we needed. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a VRBO with a better stocked kitchen. The Whaler is in the best possible location, central to everything and literally steps from Whalers Village. The front desk staff and all employees at the Whaler were very friendly and helpful with anything we needed. We’ll definitely stay here again!

Highly Recommend
Doug was fantastic to work with, always quickly responded to our questions. The condo was perfect. We are a family of 4 and our kids are getting too big to share a bed so having both the pull out couch and roll away bed was perfect for us, as well as having 2 bathrooms. The condo is fully stocked with pretty much everything you would need. Doug even allows the use of his owners closet so you have beach chairs, umbrella’s, boogie boards, sand toys, etc. The Whaler provides beach towels daily. The staff at the Whaler was great as well, friendly and helpful. The location is great right next to Whaler’s village plenty of restaurants and shopping. We would highly recommend this condo and already have to family and friends.

Wonderful 1st visit to Hawaii
This was our family's first visit to Hawaii and it was wonderful. The location of the condo is perfect. Its right on the beach and next to a nice shopping center with several really good restaurants. We spent quite a bit of time on the lanai which had a great view of the beach. The condo is really nice as are the building and grounds. It had everything we needed for our trip.

Wonderful Stay in Paradise!
This was our first extended stay in Maui in years. This was also our first experience with VRBO. The unit we stayed in was spacious & came well equipped with everything we needed. The ocean view off the large balcony was gorgeous. The owner, Doug, gave us complete & extensive information. He was also very responsive.
The Whaler condo complex is next to shops, restaurants, and an ABC store. It is just a couple of miles from Old Town Lahaina. The staff is efficient & friendly, & the grounds are well kept. The pool is very small, but the beach is very clean & uncrowded. We will be back!

This has been the best vacation rental hands down! Everything was perfect and Doug had everything you can think of. The beach locker room was also a plus since we did not have to rent or purchase any beach gear. Location!!! Cleanliness!! We did not want to leave. What an amazing location and property! We stayed with 3 kids and had plenty of room. The owners locker and cupboards had everything we needed to enjoy the beach and home cooking. Staying at this property is fantastic - as always the view never disappoints & a beautiful condo. The Whaler’s location can’t be beat with the convenience of Whaler’s village next door with the beach & golf courses steps from the door. Doug treats his guests like family allowing access to his owners locker (beach chairs & boogie boards etc…) and communicates clearly regarding everything associated with your stay. Great property owner & great property - highly recommend!

Great Accommodations and Best Location in Kaanapali!
You cannot beat the location - right on Kaanapali beach, steps away from Black Rock for snorkeling, and Whalers Village for restaurants and shopping. Our family of five had a fantastic time here. The condo was perfect . Accommodations were excellent - and communications from Doug made the logistics of the trip seamless. We would definitely come back!

Best Equipped Condo!
This is by far the nicest, most well equipped condo we have rented at The Whaler. Lots of storage access most owners don't allow access to... chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, floaties, tennis rackets + more! Plus the room is updated, appliances are new, and the bed is very comfy. Owner is easy to work with...We will definitely rent this unit again!

Whaler condo has it all
We just completed a 8 nt stay at this condo and couldn’t be happier. The unit had everything you could imagine ever needing and plenty of space for a family of 4. Slept great every night. The amenities of the hotel were really top notch as well. The owners locker with all the beach necessities was awesome. The hotel supplies towels, chairs and had impeccable service. Will be back! Stay was perfect! No car rental. Took a taxi from Airport. Had Safeway deliver groceries. ABC Store for small necessities.Walked to all the restaurants. Wait for most diners was less than 30 minutes. Whalers Village Shopping was great. Coffee Shops, ice cream shops, and best of all was the beach and sunsets!

The Whaler is a wonderful location, and this is a fantastic unit. My stay was absolutely seamless. The unit has lovely furnishings, a well stocked kitchen and a washer/dryer in unit(!!!). The view from the lanai was beautiful and amazing for whale watching. I would stay again and highly recommend!

Exceptional condo
.This unit is perfectly located and appointed for a beautiful, comfortable stay on the beach. We agree with all the positive comments in other reviews. The kitchen has high-end appliances and cookware, plus any kitchen/cooking item you can think of. Two TVs are excellent and include the Big Ten channel (probably SEC and ACC, too) and Netflix. In addition, the owner is wonderful to work with. When our flight was changed (during COVID) to a red-eye departure time, Doug allowed us to stay as long as we wanted to on our last day. We'd love to return to this special place.

Whaler Paradise
This ocean view property had everything and anything guests might need (from beach toys to baby bed to Netflix to 2 full bathrooms to a huge deck to great ice maker to all kitchen utensils to comfy pull out bed to extra pillows and linens to washer and dryer and much more).
