We had a great time staying at this beautiful home. The views are absolutely incredible. Property owner very kind and even kept out luggage after check out since we had a late flight. Outside kitchen and pool were really nice. Great place to watch the sunset.

We got to enjoy Hawaii with out sharing our space. All the comforts of home but in paradise.

A perfect home base for a small family on the Big Island. Beautiful pool and hot tub, don’t even need to dry off to cook in the outdoor kitchen while still enjoying the incredible view. Owners are super nice and the property is absolutely impeccable.

The pictures do not do the property justice. The yard is a Hawaii botanical garden. There’s fresh fruit (that you get to enjoy!) and flowers of every kind. The house is perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to town, restaurants and airport. The sunset views are so stunning, we made a point to try and be back on most nights for that. Further, the house was spotlessly clean and very well stocked in the kitchen, with towels and beach equipment. We were 2 couples concerned with privacy for each. However, we found that the house worked very well. Sandra and Ken were responsive and generous hosts. This is a place we want to go back to again.

We had the best time at Sandra's place - it's a wonderful place that was incredibly relaxing. We took advantage of the indoor/outdoor space, the pool, hot tub and amazing views. Sandra was responsive and welcoming. We'd love to go back!

We had an amazing stay! The space was perfect for us and the kitchen was very well stocked. We loved watching the sunset on the 180 degree ocean view from the hot tub. The landscaping is beautiful, and we enjoyed walking around the huge yard. We snapped a photo of a green lizard with blue feet resting on a bird of paradise flower...incredible! We would love to stay here again!

We had a great time. We found the host’s description and prior comments to be true. It is that private. Since the pool is a major feature, here is some info for planning that might be useful. We stayed during the first half of November. We travel with a kitchen thermometer (not calibrated but reasonably accurate) which I used to measure the pool in early morning and late afternoon which is when we swam. The morning temperatures ranged between about 76F and 71F as the days progressed. The afternoon temperatures were 3 – 4F warmer depending on the weather. We travel with 3 mm neoprene vests. We used the pool every day. The pool might have been too cold for us (we're both retired) without those vests. If you’re coming in the winter and don’t already have vests or shorties to keep you warm in the water, amazon lists many at very reasonable prices.

I was excited prior to arrival due to the amazing photos online, however, the photos truly do not do justice to how spectacular this property is from beginning to end. When we arrived, we were greeted by Sandra and Ken, who were welcoming. The home had so many amenities, including coffee, fresh fruit, and hygiene items if you missed something. The view is simply beautiful. Overall all, this was truly an experience. We loved the hot tub, lounge areas, and the steam room! You don't want to pass n this property...you will certainly make wonderful memories!

Our nine nights in this peaceful place flew by too quickly. The property, room, kitchen, pool and hot tub were perfect. Birds greeting us in the morning and gorgeous sunsets from the lanai. Sandra is a delight and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you from The Oasis reunion for an awesome stay.

The pictures do not do this property justice - it’s stunning, spacious & lush. We spent hours around the outdoor table playing cards after spending our days exploring the island. Sandra & Ken could not be more gracious. Our boys are already planning our return trip & we can’t wait.

We spent 5 days at the Hapuna Beach Westin, then wrapped up our 10 day trip with 5 days at this property. It is close to Costco, and just over 10 minutes from Kona, for access to other stores. We loved the property, and it has gorgeous sunset views. We were concerned that the pool might be a bit cold (we stayed in early April), but it was quite bearable, and all of us were happy to swim throughout the stay. And you always have the hot tub, which we used throughout our stay. But the kids loved the diving board. Sandra and Ken were very accommodating, and like other reviews on VRBO, you wouldn't notice them around, even though they were on the property upstairs. Certainly didn't affect us in any way. The kids also enjoyed playing badminton and basketball on the property. Love the garden, and definitely recommend a quick tour from Sandra. She'll let you know what fruits/veg are ripe & ready for harvesting. The avocados and papayas were simply amazing! Would definitely consider staying again - it's a great location, and very peaceful. My wife and I sought out properties that we could stay at for our honeymoon trip. We were previously going to travel to New Zealand then COVID-19 happened. Then it was Scotland/Ireland/Norway, then travel restrictions remained in place. Then we decided to visit an island that we had not traveled to which brought us here. During our stay on the western part of the big island, we chose this place. It was phenomenal. The owners provided us with all the privacy we needed. We had a spacious living area, outdoor dining kitchen to make our meals, perfect pool, and a great hot tub. The views were tremendous for being up on the slopes of Kona. They had everything outlined to us in easy-to-read booklet. My wife was able to pick some fruit from the garden down on the hill. No AC is needed in this area. the ceiling fans did the job and the nights get cool enough. you get a nice breeze in at night when you sleep. Everything was well thought of when it came to Sandra & Ken's place. Of all VRBO's I have stayed at in the past, this was the best when it comes to value, accommodations, communication, and amenities. I have nothing to offer for the owners when it comes to improvements to make. I would love to stay here again in the future on future trips to the big island. Best, Mike & Devyn

We had an amazing time. The property was beautiful and the grounds were even more impressive than I was expecting. It was very private and the perfect place for our family to relax and spend time together. We also loved having the pool and hot tub to ourselves. Would definitely stay again.

My husband and 2 teenage daughters stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed the property - everything was perfect! The pool, the view, the outdoor kitchen, hot tub, etc. Wonderful place to enjoy the Big Island. We liked being outside the city, but close enough to all amenities (Costco, Walmart) and tourist spots. This property is absolutely perfect for families like ours, but would also be great for those with small kids. The screen doors all lock, which was a nice feature. Highly recommend!

Our stay was wonderfully relaxing with the pool, spa, outdoor kitchen and amazing fruit available to pick and eat! We had a wonderful time!

Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay here. The property is spectacular and very private yet just a few minutes from the coast. Sandra made us feel very welcome and was very responsive to any questions. She had great suggestions for locations to visit! Everything about the property was great: the orchard (with massive avocados), the well-stocked kitchen, the pool & hot tub... I could go on and on. SO happy we chose this home over a resort property.

We really enjoyed our week here, the garden, fruits, pool, hot tub, everything was great! The owner even got us groceries to have for breakfast since we arrived late. They had everything you may forget as well!

This was a great home that was close to everything we needed! I enjoyed the space being clean, my kids loved the pool, and the outdoor sports activities, and my husband loved the steam shower! Thank you for a great stay!

Although the owners live upstairs, privacy was absolutely not an issue, we never even noticed they were there except in the morning when I would head out for my run on the safe and beautiful neighborhood just up the hill from us (which Sandra thoughtfully told me about). She also offered to share her fresh vegetables with us and the grounds are stunning. When we arrived there were fresh avocados, star fruit and lemons already picked from the orchard. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need (although a new non-stick frying pan would be much appreciated) and there is a large propane BBQ for grilling. Stores are close, the beach is a short drive and being up on the mountain, but still protected from the rain you had much more pleasant temperatures than we experienced in Kona. The only recommendation I have for improvement would be a new mattress on the wonderfully sized king bed, and updated cushions on the couch which were torn in few places and losing their comfortable plushness for lounging about (I have particular sensitivity to these things as I struggle with chronic back issues). Also, I am allergic to most perfumes so I found the cleaning and beauty products that were stocked to be largely unusable to me as a result but, again, I am unusually sensitive to these things. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking for a perfectly relaxing trip to Hawaii, and would stay here over and over again. Our three year old son was in heaven and even learned to snorkel in the pool!

The property is absolutely gorgeous! We enjoyed the indoor/outdoor living. We have been to the big island before, so we didn’t do a lot of “touristy” things. We were there to relax and enjoy time together. This rental is perfect for that!

We had a wonderful stay here..location was easy to get to and a simply gorgeous view! The grounds are gorgeous and Sandra left us papayas, avocados and star fruit which were delicious! The hot tub at night was a welcomed treat after sightseeing during the day. Everything we needed was provided! We especially loved the outdoor kitchen! Would definitely stay here again:)

Our family of 4 stayed here for 5 nights. Sandra greeted us and showed us the property right away. It really is a gem - pick ripe fruit and eat it from her trees, hang out in the pool/hot tub after a long day of island adventures. It’s great; you won’t be disappointed.

My wife and I loved our eleven days we spent at this home. The views from the home are outstanding. Each morning eating our breakfast from the outside kitchen and listening to the birds and watching the clouds drift over the ocean are priceless memories. The neighborhood and overall location of this home are excellent. We will be back again to the Big Island and staying at this home.
