Took 2 and half weeks and hassling the owners assistant to get the deposit back!

The windows and the heating were excellent. The apartment was very clean and most of the things look rather new.

The apartment is badly equipped or unfinished, valid for sleeping or having breakfast, not for a full meal or staying more hours awake during the day: - The 4 chairs provided were in a terrible status. They were small foldable (perhaps only children youngster size), with the axis completely degraded, not providing an horizontal surface were to sit on, but a inclinated surface sliding your butts making the seating activity very confortable. - In the small living-room, there is not sofa, a short of Ikea foldable bed, fit for sleeping two children, but not to seat on as a sofa, as there is not back rest. - The kitchen had the tap wrongly set, because it was too small for its location, pouring plenty of water on the working top, outside of the sink. It did not have washing machine or dishwasher, and was missing some more elements. Cutlery was limited and knifes in bad status. Rest of the cooking gear was limited but in acceptable status. - The bathroom has used nice good materials in its construction, but it is missing a shower door or curtain, a real shelf next to the sink, and perhaps the sink lid working. Nevertheless it was extremely clean with amazing heating. - The bedroom closet missing some selves to be useful 100% As the apartment is rather small, putting a bit more of hours and effort on finishing it, would make it usable beyond sleeping time. It is a pity because the owners had made a good investment in excellent windows, heating and materials in general, but furniture and equipment is not up to the level.

Host very helpful, they were super nice helping us to change the dates of our staying due to some inconvenience we had with our daughter. Clean place, small kitchen with everything needed for preparing a meal. Cozy and quite place, 30 minutes by car from Winterberg.

Pillows too soft, not very comfortable if you are used to sleep on hard ones.

The place was exceptionally clean. That was wonderful. The key pick up was very easy and there was plenty of parking. The beds were comfortable and the decor was really nice. We had a problem with one of the beds and when we called the landlady she reacted professionally. They came to fix it the next working day. The location was really nice (you need your own wheels though). The castle ruins at the top of the hill, the village church, the small museum, bakery at the bottom of the hill, 2-3 restaurants and small kiosk selling farm fresh milk, eggs etc. was really nice. Easy access to many hiking and biking paths.

The bathroom was really nice but the exhaust fan didn't work to well and I'm pretty sure the smell came up through the piping. Although it is a non-smoking apartment the neighbour smokes and this permeates through the bathroom fan making the bathroom smell of smoke. The smell does not come in if you run the fan. If you are sleeping in the living room (as opposed to the bedroom) the fridge can be loud and you can hear everything that goes on in the hallway. A broom, lids to the saucepans, a few serving dishes and cereal bowls would have been appreciated. The Wi-Fi died once while we were there for no apparent reason. It was restored after talking to the landlord.
