Loved the location and the owners were fantastic!
The property was perfectly located for everything we wanted to do in D.C. The owners were fantastic- communication was always fast and detailed and very friendly. The only detail we felt that was lacking was that the floors, garbage cans, and kitchen were not very clean. Overall, we did enjoy our stay there.

Great family vacation spot
My family of four (2 adults, 1 teen and 1 preteen) all enjoyed our spring break to DC and staying here. From this location, we could easily catch the Metro bus, as well as use the subway. We used the grocery cart provided to walk 5 or so blocks to get breakfast groceries from the Safeway nearby. We also walked to Barracks Row area for dinner. Lots of great cuisine choices nearby.
Everyone enjoyed having their own bedroom and sharing the upstairs bath wasn't hard because the downstairs bath has its own shower too.
It is an urban area, like all of DC. There was road noise in the primary bedroom but nothing that would dissuade me from recommending this place to others.
Communication with property manager was prompt and responsive.

Family visit
This home was in a good location with Harris Teeters on the next block, 5 blocks from Eastern Market. One block to the Metro and very close to the bus. The neighborhood felt safe during the day to walk around. Quiet enough for a nice visit. Beautiful pear tree in the front yard and great table and grill in the backyard. We enjoyed our relaxing family get together.

Excellent home and location. Perfect for a short or long stay.
This is a great VRBO. The row home is perfect, kitchen excellent, back yard fun, 3 bedrooms, all as advertised.
There is a very good Harris Teeter 5 minutes away. And you are a 10 minute walk to Eastern Market with its great food selection and abundance of restaurants.
It is a typical DC neighborhood with all type of folks.
The hosts were very responsible.
We had a great time and would definitelty book again.

Good value; great customer service
The property managers were very responsive prior to arrival and throughout our stay. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a nice bottle of red wine. Lovely touch! We had reserved the parking spot at the rear of the property but did not have the key to the gate in the lockbox . The property manager came over that evening with the key to open the gate. We’d definitely stay at this property again!

The location could not have been any better.
Being only two blocks from the train station and grocery store satisfied most of our needs. The property was also within easy walking distance to a local farmers type market and several good restaurants. It was a very family friendly location and we all felt safe walking to dinner in the neighborhood.

Charming townhouse
A charming townhouse, "row house," provides a quiet, warm, and convent place to rest and relax. Around the corner from the metro, grocery store and gas station. And down the street from the popular eastern market and multiple food options. It was clean and warm. Family neighborhood....We truly enjoyed ourselves.

Everything went well with our stay. The house was very comfortable and had lots of character. Loved being close to the metro and grocery store. Owner was great about returning the tablet that I accidentally left behind!

Cute historic home
My husband, myself and our 2 teenagers stayed for 4 nights while we took in all the DC attractions and visited American University. It was great that each teenager had their own room to unwind in the evenings. The Metro is very close and the Harris Teeter is conveniently located around the corner. A few blocks from Eastern Market. If you are there on a Saturday morning, do not miss it! Amazing vendors and food. Definitely recommend this property. Full of character and charm.

Nice place to stay!
It was a nice place to stay. Everything was clean, safe area and the place was very organized. Just that the parking spot should be free because the place is quite expensive to stay per night.

Great place to stay!
This property had everything we neede for our commencement weekend. The location is very close to the metro, a grocery store, restaurants- all within easy walking distance. We even walked back from the Navy Yard and Nats Stadium. There are also convenient DC bike rentals close by. We had a great time enjoying family at the house and seeing lots of DV sights. The hosts are very responsive, gracious and helpful!

Nice house, description of the house and amenities was accurate. However the house was three block east of where the map showed, but wasn’t a huge problem.

We enjoyed our visit and felt comfortable at our home away from home. Our hosts were very attentive and accommodating. It was great to be so close to the metro so we could get to all the sites easily, plus we were close to the grocery store and good restaurants.

Great place to stay
Our experience was very enjoyable. The home is located in a very manageable location. The beds were comfortable. We had all the ammenities we needed during our stay. The best was the helpfulness from our hosts. Juliet made sure we were satisfied with our accomodations and always answered any questions we had. They have our recommendation.

Wonderful location and home
We stayed at this home with our 3 children for Spring Break. The house is convenient to two metro stations which take you directly to the Mall and other tourist spots. It's also an easy walk to Eastern Market (shops) or Barrack's Row (8th St.) that has lots of restaurants and a movie theater. There is a big, modern grocery store around the block. The house is very comfortable, everything worked well (including the heat as it was cold when we were there), washer/dryer, bathrooms, tv, internet, etc. Allen was a wonderful host and responded to all of our questions promptly. If you have a young child there was a pack and play which easily fits in the bedroom with the king sized bed or one of the other bedrooms.

Great stay in Eastern Market area
Very comfortable and well-situated home. There's a grocery store on the same block and the Metro is also only a block away. 20 minute walk or two metro stops to the Capital building. Comfortable beds and furniture. Easy check in, helpful and very prompt to respond hosts.

Plenty of room in this tastefully renewed DC Rowhouse! We are a family of 5 with young kids and this was a safe and friendly neighborhood and was oh-so conveniant with an awesome grocery down the street and easy access to the Metro so we could be at all the attractions in just minutes. We could not have hoped for a more generous and accomidating host! Allen was prompt to respond to any request we had and we will be recommending his properties highly to anyone we know staying in the area. Home has been thoughtfully accented with all kinds of helpful additions to make your stay more comfortable and its all these little extras that set this place apart from so many of the other vacation properties that we've stayed at. Just to be honest and full-discloser, there were a few loud nights that carried-over from the apartments across the street but this was very minor and typical (from our experience) for a few nights in any big city. Thanks so much, Allen!! We could not have hoped for a better stay!!
8.0 / 10.0
Beautiful old row house in Capitol Hill neighborhood. Owner is courteous and print if you need him. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are all functionally furnished. Jacuzzi jets in upstairs bathroom a plus. None of the bathrooms are ensuite with any bedroom, and one bathroom is down on the main floor, so all 3 bedroom occupants tend to want to use upstairs. Though the shower is better downstairs. Kitchen has new appliances and a good coffee maker. Back years table is a bonus. Lovely place to enjoy morning coffee. Walk down to 8th for lovely pastry, coffee, lunch, dinner and nightlife.

We were a group of 9 visiting DC for the first time. This rental was the perfect home base for us. There beds were all comfortable, the sheets were clean and there was plenty of hot water with good water pressure. These are the three of the standards I use to rate a place to stay. Even with 9 adults in the house we never felt on top of each other. The kitchen was small but well stocked.
The location was great. The nearest metro station was about 5 blocks away but was an easy 10 minute walk. (The closest metro station was closed due to construction on line.) The Circulator bus stopped on 8th street which was also an easy 10 minute walk back to the house. It was very nice to be able to use public transportation to get around the city. We had no issues with the neighborhood. I did not notice any more street noise that I have experienced in any other city. The Harris Teeter grocery store was an easy 5 minute walk. We ate at several nearby restaurants. The food was one of my favorite parts of the trip. Almost any food could be found within a few blocks of the house on both 8th and Pennsylvania. Easter Market was also worth the trip on a weekend.
I would not hesitate to recommend this home is you have a group visiting the DC area. Allen was very accommodating and quickly responded to one minor issue we had during the trip.
10.0 / 10.0
We had a great stay and appreciated how close we were to the metro, bus, and grocery store. We had a group of 8 and fit comfortably. I paid the $3k deposit and was happy with how quickly it was returned.
8.0 / 10.0
If you are looking to convenience and a good deal this may be the place.
As advertised, three bedrooms and two baths. Largest room is street side (front) and has a king bed. The room is large. Other two bedrooms are small and smaller. Bedroom on the rear of the house is not well configured and you can’t easily get to the far side of the bed. There is not closet in this bedroom. The beds in small and smaller bedrooms are very close to the floor and may be difficult for older people to get in and out of.
Living room and dining room are comfortable. Kitchen is small but workable. Floors throughout the house are either wonderfully creaky or annoyingly so. No quiet late night or early morning passage in this place.
Particularly in the front bedroom, there is a lot of street noise. You’ll hear emergency vehicles several times an hour up and down Pennsylvania Avenue. If you are accustomed to city life, it probably won’t bother you. It was a bit loud for us, but the fan provided in the room did a good job of drowning out the sounds.
Convenience: Grocery store is a short walk around the block. Nice well stock Harris-Teeter, be sure to get a discount card. Potomac Ave. Metro station is a long block away. Bus stands are less than a block. There are not many restaurants in the immediate area. There are numerous restaurants just west near the Eastern Market Metro station.
I am not an experienced VRBO person, but this property needs some basic maintenance. Nothing major but it seems to be a little neglected. Not a sharp knife in the kitchen.
As other reviewers have stated, the house is directly across the street is the Potomac Garden DC Public Housing. On Saturday morning at 1:30AM, we heard 8-10 gun shots, apparently from two weapons. Police response was impressive, under a minute, and lots of them. Honestly, I wouldn’t not stay here because of the proximity of the public housing. Just be smart.
I’m giving 4 out of 5 stars because of the wear & tear.
If you are going to DC for a family vacation, I would recommend this property.

I rented this property for a week in May, knowing I needed to accommodate a larger family group and wanted to have a 'hang out' spot that you can't get when you are a group staying at a hotel.
Pros -
This house is within easy walking distance to a metro stop that brings you right to downtown DC without any transfers.
The beds in every room were very comfortable.
There were plenty of linens.
Washer & dryer.
The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for the week.
The backyard (fenced) has a patio table and chairs - we really enjoyed having the outside space
The wifi worked at all times.
2 full bathrooms
Nearby pizza place (that delivers) is good
Good grocery store within walking distance.
The owner was quick to respond when I did have inquiries.
Cons -
Rough neighborhood. Not scary, but if out at night, consider a walking buddy.
The stairs are beyond creaky - they scream. If anyone in the house is up during the night, everyone will wake up. The sounds really carry on the 2nd floor.
Overall, I would stay at this property again. It was comfortable and suited our needs for the week very well.

Allen was prompt in responding to all of my emails and inquiries which made reserving the condo very easy. It was nice being so close to the metro so we could just hop on and be at all the sites in a short time. There is a grocery store really close and just a few blocks away we found numerous great restaurants. We had 7 adults which worked out pretty good. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs, one with a king size bed which was very nice however the middle room was only a double, so it was abit small for 2 adults. Luckily he had a inflatable mattress we could use. It was nice to have a place for all of us to play games and hang out together rather than trying to do that in a hotel setting. The photos online were good and gave me a pretty accurate idea of the condo. I would recommend this property, especially for families.

I lived in the DMV area for four years, and I've visited several times since moving away in 2010. For the accomodations at that location the price could not be any better. There were 8 adults on the trip and we had a packed agenda. Graduation events, wedding dress shopping, site seeing for the first time DC travelers, and shopping. The ideal location made all of our various destinations very accessible. We had a rental car which some of us used, the metro was five minutes away, and uber works magnificently in the DC area. The car was great when all 8 of us travelled together or when we had to drive further out but not needed.
The home was lovely and as described. There was enough space for 8 adults for 1 weeek to enjoy each other's company without feeling smothered. We ate breakfast at home in the mornings and watched the nba games at night. My parent had a blast vacationing but also having three of their four adult kids under one roof which hasn't happened in years. One night my two younger sister's and I all three slept in the King size bed after hours and hours of catching up, we haven't done that in years. Allen's home was perfect for our family vacation.
Clean, comfy, and we felt safe. The neighborhood has a Harris Teeter nearby and resembles most DC neighborhoods, a hodge podge of everything. I also saw police patrol cars parked all over the area just monitoring the neighborhood.
Allen texted to make sure we got in and settled and was easily reachable during our trip, and checked into ensure we were doing well.
Thank You Allen! We had a great time at your home and made some lasting memories!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Loved being a block away from the grocery store with the metro just a bit further than that. So convenient. The beds were comfortable and we loved the extra books/magazines/tour guides available. We had everything that we needed during out stay. I would definitely rent this place again if we were to return to DC.

We stayed in this historic, family friendly town home for our Spring Break week's visit to Washington and loved it! Yes it is an older home with its creaky staircase but just added to the ambience!:) We were a group of grandparents (my husband & myself) plus our son and daughter in law, and our 10 year old grandson and 7 year old granddaughter. This unit has all the amenities needed-fully furnished kitchen with dishwasher, disposal, microwave, full stove, and full sized refrigerator. Plus a private off street parking spot included in the gated back yard. We never used the car during our stay because this unit is only 2 blocks from the Potomac Ave Metro station which we used daily to traverse the Washington area to any desired destination. We also loved the fact that we could shop at the Harris Teeter Grocery store which is only a quick walking block away! Allen was extremely attentive to our needs when we had an issue with the dishwasher which happened to malfunction during our visit. He bought and installed a new one in less than 24 hours of our report of the current one not working.
We would definitely stay in this unit again in the future. Highly recommend due to the location and value.
Thanks, Allen, for a great week in Washington! Look forward to staying with you again in the future!
Sincerely, The Dunhams
