I am 70 and did just fine going up very small steps to go to bed. 90% of my friends could not have climbed a ladder or the steps with a railing a few inches tall. This should be a warning for anyone renting this. We did fine, there were no problems except I felt the owner did not want me to bother them.

We loved the scenery. Traveling up the mountain road and all the way down to the current river. Absolutely loved the craftsmanship of the cabin. It was beautiful. Owners were accessible if needed and gave great suggestions on places to visit.

My friend and I stayed in the tiny house in June 2024 and I brought 1 horse with me to ride on the trails. The tiny house is super clean, it was very well made and decorated. Everything works and it’s nice to have a coffee maker there, pots and pans, kitchen utensils etc. All bedding is provided.
The horse stalls very very safe and clean. There is over 300 miles of horse trails accessible from camp. We’ll be back!!

We loved the Tiny House...the area is so beautiful

The pry was the sleeping accommodation. We were told that there were two lofts, one with a ladder and one with stairs. Unfortunately my wife was not able to sleep in the bed because you had to crawl to reach the bed by the ceiling was so low. It was dangerous for me and I am a mobile retired person. We stayed two nights of the four we paid, couldn’t stand the thought of another night.

The Tiny House we stayed in is located down a dirt road. The only issue we had at all was there is a small sign stating the name of the place, but it could be missed. If one is not used to traveling down dirt roads it might be a little intimidating. Also, a low riding car may have difficulty traveling down the road.We are used to roads like this so it really wasn't an issue. It is a very nice "Tiny House", and had everything we needed. Very relaxing, and the scenery is just beautiful in the area. I would recommend it for sure.

We spent 4 nights in the Tiny House. Lisa was a great host. The Tiny House was immaculate and had everything we needed. Cooked on the grill and sat by the camp for at night. Lisa took us on a 4 hour horse ride where we saw two different herds of wild horses, did river crossings and saw the local forests. We spent another day on the Current River from Round Spring to Two Rivers. Wundt’s Canoe picked us up at the Tiny House, took us to the put in, was waiting for us at the take out and took us back to the Tiny House. We spent another day seeing the local sights including Blue Spring, Rock Falls, Alley Spring and Mill, Round Spring, Echo State Park and the Tiny House at Old Desperado Ranch was perfectly situated to see everything. Wish we could have spent more time. Thank you for everything! We hope to come back.

I stayed at the Tiny House with my husband and our 11 year old. We had such a lovely time. The cabin is small, but all the space it utilized and it had all the amenities you could want! The screened in porch was perfect for hummingbird viewing and sun-drenched breakfasts. We made s’mores in the fire lit and sat on the deck listening to the sounds of the woods.
The property was easy to find, which is always a plus down in an area where cell service might be sketchy!
We went floating on the Current River, took a road trip to Alley Springs, Peck Conservation Area, Round Spring and Rocky Falls.
Eminence is a darling town and we had a great burger at Hogan’s grill and then grabbed ice cream at the Dairy Shack.
We will definitely be coming back to this tiny cabin in the woods!

We thoroughly enjoyed our mini vacation at The Tiny House! Every experience from start to finish was a pleasure. The accommodations were excellent. Every detail was geared toward us having a wonderful stay. The house was equipped with everything we needed, very tastefully decorated and just adorable. We had 4 adults and a dog and the accommodations worked out very well. The air conditioning kept the house cold in the hot weather and the big screen TV was great for catching up on the Cardinals game. The beds were comfortable and the sheets and comforter smelled crisp and clean. Firewood was provided and we had a fire each night under the stars. Owls, deer, and whiporwhil kept us company. Lisa, the owner, was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the area, offering suggestions as to where to find the wild horses. The Tiny House actually borders the Angeline Conservation Area, which is where the Broadfoot Herd of the Missouri wild horses are known to frequent. We highly recommend The Tiny House and will return again.

We've been floating the Current and Jack's Fork Rivers for 50 years, and have stayed in many different cabins. This particular little Tiny House was exceptionally clean and well provisioned. The Host was very thoughtful too. Horse back riding is available, dogs permitted on leash, and the Current is nearby.
The only drawback is access to the bed in the loft. You must literally crawl up a narrow staircase, crawl to the bed, and try to remember not to sit up during the night.
Younger people could easily navigate this arrangement. We are far from young however and require several trips to the bathroom at night, so it was a very challenging and sometimes dangerous experience.
But hey, if you are still young enough to crawl in and out of tents at night, then you can navigate the ups and downs of sleeping in the loft of this pristine little Tiny House in the woods.
P.S. The sreened in porch is a real bonus.

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend in Eminence, MO which included a visit to Echo Park, four out of six of the beautiful springs, Rocky Falls and a 12 mile float down the current river.
The Old Desperado Ranch was centrally located and provided everything we needed for a two night stay with our 15 year old beagle. Will recommend a trip to Eminence, MO and a stay at ODR to friends and family.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Old Desperado this past weekend. If you’re overworked and get way too many work calls and e-mails, and seriously just want to disconnect for the weekend, I highly recommend visiting and forgetting about the work phone. The tiny cabin was cozy for two adults and out Boston Terrier. We will definitely recommend Lisa’s property to all our friends and family. Oh, and Carl the Cat was fun to hang out with as well.

We absolutely loved this location!! Quiet spot in the county, close drive to both current river and downtown. The only suggestion would be to have a better selection of firewood.

Perfect Tiny House Experience
The Tiny House cabin was a perfect place for my husband and I to spend a weekend get-away enjoying the beauty of the Eminence area. While it IS a true tiny home, it had everything we needed to be comfortable and enjoy our stay. If you go with a clear understanding of the space limitations inherent with tiny home living, you won’t be disappointed with this adorable, well stocked place. Lisa was amazing at answering our questions, making sure we settled in, and offering her knowledge of the area to help us with our excursions. What a great host, and what a sweet tiny home!

Dark sky country
Had a wonderful time deep in the heart of dark sky country. Property was adorable and owners were very friendly. House is true to it’s title of being very tiny - especially the stairs up to the loft - so if you have any mobility issues definitely take that into consideration. Beautiful house - beautiful location!

Privacy, peace and quiet
The Tiny House and property were perfect. Only a few minutes to town and Windy’s canoe picked us up right at our cabin - so convenient! It was great to have our own area instead of other campers being right next to us like most campsites. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for having us!
