This is an absolutely beautiful property with plenty of room for a large group. It is very well appointed and convenient to everything. Check-in, check-out and all communications could not have been easier. While this was primarily a golf weekend, the downstairs game room was a hit with all ages. We would definitely stay here again.

What a beautiful home! And absolutely wonderful hosts. You will not be disappointed in this wonderful location and breathtaking views. We had a blast playing horseshoe in the yard around the fire pit. And on the one rainy day we had was filled with shuffleboard and air hockey in the basement. Property was wonderful, and accurately described. The hosts were very responsive and considerate. Home came with everything you need, even had few extra full propane tanks for the grill. Hot tub was clean and well kept, did not foam like many others we’ve stayed at previously.
Please note: don’t be worried if the water comes out a little foamy from the tap. We texted the hosts late night, and they returned our call - the home uses well water and an aeration unit to clean / purify the water which sometimes builds up - but is perfectly safe for drinking, brushing teeth, showering etc. We brought along bottled water anyway so wasn’t a big deal.
The kids loved the gaming system in the basement, along with the classic arcade with 1000+ games on it. I played Street Fighter II and it brought me back to my childhood! Also there’s a air hockey table and foosball table, not to mention countless board games and puzzles.
The A/C worked great. It was warm when we arrived but quickly cooled down. One master has its own A/C and the rest of the home uses 2 shared units (one for main floor, and one for basement) for a total of 3. It was a life saver during the warm and humid days we were there.
Moreover, there are two full fridges, one in kitchen and one in the garage which was amazing because we brought a bunch of meat to grill during our stay so the extra space was very welcomed.
The kitchen is also fully stocked with spices, utensils, silverware, dishes, pots and pans!

We had an amazing time! So much room for everyone. Rainy days didn’t get us down either with the game room in the basement. Jen was amazing connecting with me and offering recommendations. Every room is updated and clean. Every amenity was thought of. Thank you so much for sharing your house with us.

This house is amazing!! The game room in thd basement was so fun for kids and adults!! The house was incredibly clean, which is extremely important to me as a guest. Newry is a great place to visit, not overly crowded in summer but plenty to keep busy.

Terrific, spacious, clean!
Had a great time at your home for a family reunion. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to go around. The basement game room was a huge hit with everyone! Endless retro games on arcade console, air hockey and foosball. Kitchen was spacious, well stocked with all the appliances and tools and also some assorted spices/oil in the pantry.
Beautiful views of Sunday River from the house and hot tub, and even had some fireworks on Saturday night!

Perfect for families
The house is beautiful, very clean and full of all the amenities you’d need! We were 3 families with lots of kids and had plenty of space. One of our favorite things was the huge table for us all to sit at for meals. We had a great long weekend. Hope to rent again!

Great time had by all
This was a wonderful home with all the amenities that we would need. Our kids loved the basement with a game room and there was plenty of space for 2 families to be together and still enjoy some privacy. The views are spectacular and the hot tub is a beautiful added bonus.

Visiting From Out of State? Stay Here!
After hearing amazing things about this property (views, cleanliness, quality furnishings, space) we booked the property with a couple of other families. Lynn was great about walking us through the required documents for visiting Maine, and when a kid got sick just before the trip, she generously worked with us to reschedule - a tremendous courtesy given that we are entering foliage season. We look forward to our trip, and highly recommend booking with Lynn!

Beautiful Home!
This house was amazing! Everyone in our family raved about the home and it’s amenities. Plenty of space, very clean, kids enjoyed the hot tub and the arcade games in the basement.

Excellent house
The house was amazing. Just as the description said. We had a great time. My entire family loved it. Owners Eric and Lynn were spot on with the communication. I feel bad that we were a little too loud the one night. I highly recommend staying here but make sure to adhere to the guidelines for noise level at night. It's very easy to think that you're completely secluded with that gorgeous night sky. I think we saw at least a dozen shooting stars. Kitchen was well stocked. All the rooms were very clean. The kids loved the game room and the arcade games. I'll definitely stay here again the next time we visit Maine.

Enjoyable stay
We stayed at the property for almost the entire month of July. House is well appointed and maintained, and owner and property manager are fast to respond to any questions/concerns. Surrounding area has a lot of outdoor activities for people of all ages and abilities. Would rent house again.

Exactly what we were looking for.
We got 16 inches of snow and had a perfect house to enjoy it. Great views. Great basement for kids to play. Close to everything, including Sunday River. The owners expect a clean house just like the guests hope for-very well-received. Would definitely rent from them again!

Last Minute August Vacation
The house was both beautifully appointed, extremely clean and the owner was most accommodating & responsive when a minor issue arose. We had an incredible week and appreciated and enjoyed the dining suggestions made by the host. Our family of 5, including 2 teenagers, enjoyed the many amenities from the hot tub to the game room. We wouldn’t hesitate to reserve again & hope to return to ski! We highly recommend this property!

Beautiful and well-appointed
We have a group of 8 adults and 8 kids who travel together each summer. Everyone agreed that this was the best house we’ve rented for our group. The house was beautiful and it had everything we needed. We loved the hot tub, the views, the location, the amazing master bedrooms and bathrooms, the impressive 2 story living room, and the fire pit. Would rent again in a heartbeat!

Perfect for a big group!
House was fantastic! Great layout for our group of four families (8 kids ranging in age). Clean, incredible views of the mountain, game room in basement perfect for kids. Plenty of space. Owner was super responsive when we arrived and discovered the driveway needed plowing due to unexpected snowfall throughout the day. Overall a great experience. We’ll likely be back next year!

Still...a perfect house for a large group!
We (a group of 12) returned to the Appalachian Lodge for a second time this March. Again, the house was perfect for our group, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, all beautifully decorated and extremely well maintained. I would definitely recommend this house for a ski vacation! In addition, the owner's are very nice to work with.

Beautifully appointed and located
Dear Eric and Jen,
Each long weekend our four families gather and hit the slopes. This was our first time as a group to ski @ Sunday River and boy did we luck out. 18" of fresh powder and the Appalachian Lodge made for the most wonderful weekend (along with another Patriots AFC Championship!). The Lodge had everything our four families could need: a REAL fireplace, smart open floor plan, basement game room for the kids, super comfortable sleeping arrangements, and a hot tub with a view. We rarely return to the same place but we are definitely coming back to the Appalachian Lodge & Sunday River!
Also a BIG shout out to Lynn the super orgranized and attentive agent who ensured our weekend would be memorable.

Fantastic house
This house has everything. What a beautiful place and convenient to the mountain. Everything was exactly as discribed and we had a wonderful time at Sunday River. The hot tub after skiing was the icing on the cake. Will definitely rent this house again .

Absolutely beautiful home!
This was the second time I rented this home for a couples get away for the Tough Mountain Challenge. Eight of us stayed with lots of room to spare. This home is truly breathtaking. The owners were wonderful to work with and provided everything you could possibly need. We had a wonderful time and will definitely stay again.

Perfect Family Ski Trip
This house is beautiful! We pulled up as the cleaners were pulling out and wow was the house in perfect condition. The set up is perfect, we all were able to gather in kitchen and dining area for meals and have the bar set up on the other side. We ranged from 62 years old to 1 years old and it couldnt have been more perfect for everyone. Lynn and Eric's organization and responsivness are what make it though, we blew a fuse and they were literally calling us within seconds to help fix it. We are already booked for next year and cannot wait!

Beautiful ski house, perfect for groups!
We booked a last-minute ski trip with friends and were thrilled to find that this house was available. It was absolutely stunning and spotlessly clean. The layout was perfect for our group of 11 (mix of couples and singles). It was super close to the mountain - six or seven minutes away from the main lodge - and the views of the Saturday night fireworks were superb. So happy to have found this beautiful property!

Perfect house for large group!
The Appalachian Lodge was a perfect house for our large group consisting of four different families. The layout of the house allowed each family to have their own space and bathroom. The house is beautifully decorated and the living room seating is very comfortable. The large kitchen table also worked out great for our group. And what a view! We spent much time planning our next ski day by just looking out the window. The house is very close to Sunday River. The owners were very responsive. I highly recommend this house for your next trip to Newry.

Wonderful, Clean and spacious home
We loved our time here. So close to Sunday River ski resort. The house was immaculate-we loved the rustic, yet elegant rustic décor. Our kids played for hours in the basement (foosball, arcade and air hockey!) and then fell right asleep in the amazing bunk beds. We loved the fireplace, incredible kitchen and all of the amazing bedroom en suite bathroom options.The house was definitely perfect for a group of 12! We will return!
