Historic stone house by the river

We rented this beautiful house in Beloeil in conjunction with the big brick house, which is also made available by the same owner (Martin) on VRBO, for our wedding weekend. It was the most perfect place for our wedding festivities and family reunion. From the very beginning, communication with Martin was very clear and he was always available to answer our questions. The house made a beautiful backdrop for all of our wedding photos and was the perfect location to get ready for the big day. It was modern (despite being an old historic house) and had all of the amenities we needed. It is centrally located in Vieux-Beloeil which made it easy to walk into town to go out for dinner or get some ice cream. It is also not so far from Montreal, so if you are visiting and want to get into town, it is easy to get there. We are already thinking of when we will be coming back to this house, perhaps in a different season, because we enjoyed our stay so much. We would highly recommend this stay to anyone!

Loved the historical house and location on the river. So walkable to nearby restaurants, cafes, shops, etc. Hiking across the river was great and convenient too.
Merci Beaucoup!

Our family (2 adults and 2 teens and dog) had a great time! The house itself is very cool - from concrete floors and beautiful wood ceilings to modern and tasteful amenities. The Richelieu River across the street was special. Loved drinking coffee in the morning by the river and eating at restaurants overlooking the river in the evening. Also loved watching all of the boating and summer activity along the river. We had fun playing games and roasting marshmallows by the fire at night and definitely enjoyed the hottub. Loved the solar lights that came on at night along the hottub wall. We enjoyed this home after days of activities in nearby Montreal (about 40 mins away when there wasn't traffic). Martin was a great host and easy to communicate with. He was very accommodating. We'd go back!

We had a lovely stay at this treasure of a house. Beautiful property, private backyard with a hot tub, and an especially beautiful large bedroom. The house is within walking distance of several excellent restaurants, some waterfront, and a reasonable drive from Montreal. The host was communicative and friendly and the house had all necessary amenities. We look forward to returning!

This house is a gorgeous combination of a historical building that is very unique and modern amenities. I couldn’t have asked for a better place. Martin answered my various questions very quickly. Wonderful time and a great village.

What a lovely gem this house is! We loved this house and town so much, we found ourselves shortening our time in Montreal each day so we could return to Beloeil. Walks by the river in the evening, several coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance, beautiful historic neighborhood. This house and the town of Beloeil are truly special--our group was sad to leave.

This historic cottage was a unique stay for us. It sits across from the river in a lovely small town in walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The neighborhood was lovely. Many fun outings nearby. The house was interesting since it was so old and it was fun to have tho opportunity to stay in such an historic place.

We had a relaxing and exciting time during our week, enjoying most of the amenities the owner had to offer, including the hot tub during the cooler nights later in the week. Very relaxing! We also enjoyed steak kebobs and corn on the cob on the grill in the yard the night of our 20th wedding anniversary.
The 3rd floor bedroom was sooo relaxing, which is actually a spacious attic that was renovated to create a large living space.
We appreciated the owner's several suggestions for dining options Boleil. We loved the village and so many fine restaurants to choose from.
Highly recommended!

Of all the places we’ve stayed, this is one of our family’s favorites! Such a unique property. We fell in love in March, I can only imagine how even more lovely it’d be in the summer time. Located in walking distance of shops and restaurants, coupled with that beautiful view, you can’t go wrong with the Stone House. It has modern comforts and 200+ year old charm. The hot tub, fire pit, and indoor fire place helped to keep us cozy on brisk days. Our 7 and 3 year old boys have already asked if we’re going to come back for another visit soon. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us.

This house made you feel immediately at home. Every single gadget was in the kitchen, when you were cooking a meal. There were ample pots and cooking dishes for a proper, Christmas meal. The house is even bigger than the pictures demonstrate! The heated floors made all the difference on the cold winter days. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Our family used this beautiful home as our home base during our recent visit to Montreal. The home had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and many spaces for our group of 5 to spread out. We especially appreciated the sitting area of the 3rd floor bedroom when us “old” people needed a quiet place to relax before bed.
Martin was quick to respond to queries and provided immediate assistance with a minor road bump.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Perfectly located on the Richelieu River, this centennial house captures the history of its town. Well appointed kitchen, updated bathrooms, plenty of seating room and close to anything you might need from grocery store to hikes in the mountain across the river. We loved the proximity to local pubs and restaurants and easy access to major highways. A great place to just unwind and relax by the fire pit at night overlooking the shoreline. We'll definitely return. Thank you Martin for making this a memorable experience.

We had a wonderful stay at this location, which was also an outstanding geographical location. It was a French getaway without having to go all the way to France! Everything was smooth from start to finish.

My family and I loved our stay here and highly recommend to others.
The location felt historic and romantic - removed from every day life - while still being close enough to restaurants, shopping and Montreal.
The house itself was beyond perfect. We hoped it would live up to the wonderful photos - it did, and then some. The family’s pride of ownership is evident, and the home has the comforts of modern day while maintaining the feel of days long past.
The home is very clean, surprisingly very private for being close to old Belœil, and the host is super welcoming.
Many thanks to the owners for opening their very special property to us.
I hope we have a chance to stay here again, we loved every minute of it!

We were so happy with our stay! The home had all the amenities we needed to enjoy a vacation with our small child. It is within short walking distance of many great restaurants with terraces and we enjoyed spending time watching boats on the river from the backyard. Excellent location for visiting family-friendly orchards.

We loved Beloeil! Bike trails, skate parks, cafes, river, the atmosphere and how people enjoyed time outside. The house was charming worked well for our family of 6. We enjoyed the hot tub, the river, and large bathroom and the attic suite. Martin was excellent and responsive to our needs!!

The historic house is beautifully located in a cute little village directly on the river. The exterior of the house is left in its original state and the garden is also left in its natural state. When sitting in the garden, you can look directly across the street to the river. Inside it has been modernized, the old ceiling beams have been left. The ceiling is very low for tall people. There was air conditioning, but it did not reach directly to the bedrooms, so we had to use the fans. Very nice was the jacuzzi in the garden, which was already nicely preheated and cleaned. We had a nice time in the nature. Do not forget to eat an QG ice cream in Beloeil!

We wanted a to rent a home which would help us to feel like we were walking in the footsteps of our ancestors and we found it in Beloeil! The views and walkability of this town provided a beautiful stay while we explored southern Quebec. We all loved it!

I left my heart in Beloeil! This place is a perfectly imperfect 200 year old home that holds so much character & history! It was nestled in by the river which led to a beautiful walk to many great cafes and restaurants. The people in this little town were so welcoming and hospitable! You can enjoy some of the best French cuisine or grab an ice cream and sit under a lit tree and watch the scenery. The home provided everything my family of 5 could need, the beds were comfortable, the space was great, the kitchen was stocked. I always pick a unique stay on our trips and this home did not disappoint!

Unique riverfront property with so much character and history. Comfortable and charming.Terrific location with many restaurants just a short walk up the street. Noisy traffic on the river and on the road was annoying at times. Noise was not a problem indoors. If you do want to spend time outdoors in the evening bring mosquito repellant. We were thankful we had brought our Thermocell which worked fantastic.

Loved our stay here. Just minutes away (by foot) from numerous restaurants. We ate well!
The house is vey well equipped - don’t hesitate to stay (stairs going to bedrooms a bit steep, but not a problem).

We loved staying at the house with two teenagers and our well behaved puppy. Cozy beds, rooms and spotlessly clean. Many great restaurants to choose from within a few blocks and teens enjoyed the hot tub. HIGHLY recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at this property! Martin was very quick to answer any questions we asked. We took his advise and walked up the street to Le Mista for a delicious supper. Such a unique, charming house with modern touches. Highly Recommend ‼️. Hope to be back in the future

Stone House was just as described, unique property, cute historical neighborhood. Watching life on the river was fun. Street is busy with traffic at times, but quiet in Stone House. Stone House was a very even temperature even though weather outside went from hot to cold.

Fantastic location - within walking distance to restaurants and shops. The house was well maintained, spacious and provides all the amenities. Martin was an absolute pleasure to deal with - so responsive to our questions. We had a glitch with Netflix one evening and he promptly came over to help us out to resolve the issue. It was a short drive to Montreal for those who want to visit the city. Many thanks Martin for lovely stay.

This magical property is just as beautiful as the photos. It’s under an hour to Montreal (just because of city traffic, not distance) and about two hours to Quebec City but Beloeil is a treat in and of itself. Wonderful cafes, views, nearby alpaca farms and hiking. Our family of five plus dog absolutely loved our stay.

My wife and I stayed here during a romantic get-away and were blown away by how charming this place is. We slept in the third floor/attic bedroom and we found it to be so very cozy.
Modern kitchen with lots of room and counter space. The heated concrete floors on the 1st floor were amazing.
For a building that's over 200 years old it was warm and we didn't notice any drafts.
The neighborhood is charming and you're 5 min walk or less to many shops, restaurants, coffee shops and you can walk along the riverfront.
We didn't get the chance to use the hot tub since it was extremely cold while we were there.
The owner was always ready to answer any questions we had and would respond quickly.

This cottage was perfect for our week-long vacation. Perfectly located, we could explore Montreal and other area towns, and come back home to our nice comfy, quiet place. Easy walking distance to fabulous restaurants and a nice town.
The house was perfect - neat, clean, comfortable beds, and a well equipped kitchen.
Our host was fantastic - answering the questions we had and appropriately accommodating our requests. He provided local expertise on things to do and see and was a great resource.
We can't wait until our next visit.

My husband and I stayed here for my bday weekend and had a really lovely, relaxing time. It is a beautiful home, a gorgeous historic building, but all newly renovated. Also there was plenty of room, great place to take the family, with 3 nice separate double bedrooms. The town of Beloeil is very cute, with several restaurants literally 3 blocks away and some nice hiking and shops nearby. Would definitely stay again.

We loved our stay in this beautiful stone home. It had everything we needed and is in such an amazing location. Will come back and would recommend to anyone as an alternative to staying downtown Montreal.

Nicely maintained, historical property with plenty of space and amenities in a gorgeous area! 👍🏻👍🏻Definitely take advantage of the bakery Boulangerie Le Pain Dans Les Voiles across the river which the owner suggests in the guestbook. Only wish we'd had more time to explore the charming restaurants within walking distance as well!

We had an amazing time here. The property and the village were beyond our expectations. Everyone was so helpful and friendly and it was a very easy area to travel around.
The house had all the amenities we needed with all the comforts of home and was very comfortable even during the extreme heat we had during our visit.
We were astounded by the number of places to eat and visit. The dining is top notch and cafes had great espresso and confectioneries.
We would not hesitate recommend this property. We will be planning a return again for next year.
