We loved the location. Walked down to the beach, watched so many eagles flying in and all the kids loved the trains. It’s a beautiful home and fit our big family.
With that said, after spending over $1,000 for our weekend stay I had higher expectations. We found blood on a set of sheets/bedding. The shower drain was so clogged the tub filled halfway while showering and after spilling water on the floor we wiped it up and the paper towel was black.

Our family enjoyed good times, good food, and pleasant surroundings in this home. It’s a 4+ bedroom home with 1 bathroom. One more bathroom would have been nice.

Very lovely home with all the room your party needs to have a wonderful getaway! Close to all the action and a small walk away from the Pier and the Pickle Factory.
Cannot forget all the Wildlife and the Patio where so many memories were made. Thank you all so much for hosting us for the 100 Mile Garage sale 2024.

Great location and great community.

The home had enough room for our family and has all the amenities. It would be nice to have more than one bathroom. Due to the weather we did not get to enjoy the deck or water.

We found the house cozy and welcoming. We slept great even with the near by trains. We all loved our stay!

Cute house with gorgeous views of the lake. It had a cabin feel and cite rooms.

We had a fabulous time staying in the house. There was so much room to spread out and we appreciated having our own bedrooms. The location of the house is very good being close to lots of restaurants, the winery and lake. Watching the white pelicans was quite entertaining. It was so nice to sit outdoors off the kitchen and enjoy the view of the lake while we ate breakfast. Definitely would rent again. The owners were quick to answer questions. The instructions left by owners were clear and concise. They thought of everything, including a very nice set of binoculars that we used.

We liked being right on Lake Pepin and walking distance to beach and restaurants. Loved outdoor patio!! Morning coffee! No bathroom on 2nd floor and trains ran right by house. Though this was not much of concern as used fans at night. Overall…we would stay again! Thank you

A group of guys stayed at the house to fish. We had a great time even though we didn’t catch many fish. The only trouble we had was parking for the vehicles and boat trailers.

We were in town for a wedding with 9 people. The house is beautifully redone and had all the amenities that you could need. Kitchen was very well stocked as well as bathrooms. Layout was great for our family and we enjoyed the outside area and deck while we cooked out and had a campfire. Lake and marina are beautiful and about a minute walk from the house. Trains do go right by fairly frequent, but the owners have white noise machines and earplugs available for light sleepers. Would stay here again.

Overall, pretty great! House got warm upstairs so we had to keep the air set lower. Wasn’t crazy about the train tracks, but we did know about it. House was charming and very nice.

The property was very nice. The trains were loud, but kind of fun to be that close. The view was really nice!! Another bathroom upstairs someday would be a bonus. We came by boat so the proximity to the marina was also a big plus. We also appreciated having a few staples in the pantry, particularly coffee!

Communication: Great
Accuracy: Alright
Pros: several sleeping areas, view, AC, refrigerator, WiFi, walking distance to Marina, driveway, stove, smart tv
Cons: DUSTY!! Not many things to do in Pepin, 1 bathroom, some of the fans don’t work, when train passes the entire house shakes. We booked 2 nights and ended up staying 1. We all left sneezing and wheezing with how dusty the rooms were. One of the blankets (twin beds) had blood stains as well as parts of the wall.

We had a great stay during the wedding weekend of our son. The location was perfect. We were able to dock our pontoon at the Pepin Marina a block from us. The home was well equipped with everything needed. Spent a lot of time on the back deck. We especially enjoyed listening to some great albums on the turntable.

We rented this house to use as a home base for the week while we visited family in the area. The house was perfect and had everything we needed. It has a charming mix of old and new -- very well maintained and clean as well. The only thing people should be aware of is there is only one bathroom. It was not an issue for my family, but I could see it creating issues for some. Other than that, we highly recommend the house and will likely stay there again when we are back in the area in the future.

My kids started naming it the “little blue house” and that’s what we called it our entire stay. Cute decor, stocked with everything you need including beach chairs and a couple of tubes/floating rafts for the beach. Gorgeous deck and sunroom with views of the lake. Such a nice short watch to the public beach which was never crowded when we were there. If you have little ones, be sure to bring water shoes or crocs as there are some spots that are rocky and have seashells! One downside is the train - but honestly we slept right through it. Thankful that the owners had fans in every room to help drown out noise, and the upper rooms do get a little hot/stuffy even with A/C. We would absolutely recommend!

Our party of nine (6 adults, 3 kids) loved out stay at Villa del Lago. The house was big, well furnished and the view of the lake could not be beat. Walking distance to shops and restaurants, we really enjoyed the outdoor spaces and check-in / check-out were a breeze. Would definitely stay here again.

This gorgeous vintage home with its modern furnishings is so very welcoming that we hope/plan to return as often as possible. The five of us rented the home to hang out, read, laugh, talk, imbibe, and eat. And it was magical. The windowed sunroom area gives stunning views over the Mississippi that's truly just a stone's throw away. The stairs creak just enough to remind you that this building has seen many seasons, and the woodwork throughout is lovingly burnished.
There are restaurants within walking distance, but the well-appointed kitchen provided a home-away-from-home opportunity for us to share meals.
The beds are comfortable and clean with plenty of extra blankets if needed and fans if not. I grew up in a home with one bathroom and live in one now, but if you're used to multiple bathrooms, that may be the only drawback i can think of in this lovely place.
The checkout list is minimal and so very reasonable.
Local shops are quaint and delightful to browse. We ate at the Pickle Factory where the food was mid-priced and the ambiance was local-friendly. Enjoy your stay!!

The house is a perfect beach house. It is decorated beautifully and is located right near the lake. I can't wait to go back in the summer. The location of the train tracks right near the house was the only negative but we got used to the sound of trains after awhile.

We stayed here last year for Thanksgiving, and loved it so much that this year we came back again. The house is very well kept, check-in is trivially easy, and it's a great space to hang out it. (Or to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner.) Within a few blocks are a little beach, eagles, gulls, a sweet little library, a small but adequate grocery store, a post office, several restaurants--and an ever-changing view of the lake and the bluffs on the other side of it. We took long walks along First Street, watching the lake change. We walked around town and looked at early Christmas decorations and several kinds of squirrel. We drove ten minutes to Stockholm and did the same thing there. We went to Frontenac State Park one day.
And of course we watched trains. We love 'em: the colorful variety of intermodal shipping containers, the half-miles of lumber and steel, the full miles of wheat and corn -- the pulsing arteries of commerce. True, the trains are loud, but usually there isn't a train and then the place is wonderfully quiet. There's no road noise. At this time of year, there are no crowds, no traffic, no stress. At night, it's dark: Milky Way in view from out front.
This is a great place to stay.

The property fit us perfectly with lots of rooms and beds. The host was very helpful with a small issue with working the furnace.

Beautiful view of lake Pepin. Spacious living room. Convenient to town. Bedrooms were comfortable. Steps to upstairs area were steep, narrow and slippery especially for older people. There was not an adequate supply of toilet paper or Kleenex. The train shook the entire upstairs and beds disturbing your ability to sleep or to visit with each other.

Everything met or exceeded our expectations with our stay. This was a perfect spot for a mom's weekend away with plenty to do within walking distance and a comfortable spot to relax as a group. I've already recommended to others- thank you so much!

Great place for family to stay during a family reunion. Location & views of the lake can't be beat. Trains were not an issue - from inside you could barely hear them. Very thoughtfully stocked house for kitchen and nice quality & quantity of linens. Loved the kitchen layout & extra small fridge a plus. Nice outdoor space too!
