This was such a great place to stay. We stayed near the beach while on St. Thomas and wanted to stay in the jungle while on St John and this little place fit the bill perfectly. We didn't have too much trouble finding it luckily and our rental car managed the dirt road and driveway pretty good (though I wish we'd been able to rent a jeep since that would have made driving easier on the island as St. John's roads are insanely steep.) The little dirt road to the property is a bit sketchy but don't worry, the property itself is lovely! It was actually nicer than we expected. The studio is compact, super clean, has a comfy king bed and futon, and a small but efficient kitchen with everything you need. Plenty of beach towels which we appreciated plus other beach gear which was great. The entire place is off-the-grid and so has drinkable, filtered water. My very favorite part of staying here was the screened in porch; we sat out there every single evening enjoying all the jungle sounds. The little frogs are quite loud from the porch (it's much quieter if you are inside the studio) and I loved it so much. They do stop at some point in the night for the most part. I went just outside the porch with a flashlight searching for them every night; I got rather good at finding them in the plants and enjoyed watching them sing. If you love frogs like I do, definitely do this, especially if you have kids with you. I found 18 frogs (sizes ranging from a teeny tiny 1/4" frog to one that was a few inches big and every size inbetween) one night just in the patch of bromeliads by the screen door. We saw deer in the yard every morning early and there are hens with chicks and at least one rooster running around (chickens are everywhere on the islands, it's hilarious.) Cynthia is a lovely host. Parking in Cruz Bay is a nightmare for meals so she suggested Shambles which is just up the road on HWY 10, only about 5 minutes from the property. They have plenty of parking, great food, and a great atmosphere. We had a great time on St. John and really enjoyed staying at Eden's Lounge Villa in the "jungle", highly recommend to anyone who is budget-minded who is looking for a private, clean, lovely little place to stay.

Overall we had a great stay. We got lost trying to find the property. We had to ask a local who was able to take us there. Detailed directions Prior to the stay would be very helpful. The road leading to the property is run down but once you get the the property it’s great. We really enjoyed sleeping with the windows open listening to the jungle sounds- no need for the a/c. It’s a great economical option on St John which is an amazing place.

really a great home base if you don't need a ton of space or a party house. this apartment was everything we (31 years old, 33 years old, 4 years old, and 1 year old) needed and more. for the price of this rental we expected to have just a place to sleep and shower, and we would have been satisfied with that, but the apartment had beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, coffee, aloe, air conditioning, ice, a grill, drinkable water, and even blocks and beach toys. the amenities far exceeded our expectations, the property was immaculate, and cynthia was lovely. she gave us absolutely spot on directions to the house, which is in a pretty and peaceful neighborhood close to everything. highly recommend

Cute little place, perfect for the two of us. Had all that we needed including beach chairs, beach towels and noodles to float with. The home is centrally located so we were never more than 20 minutes from our destination and we went all over the island. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to relax after a long day at the beach. Thank you for the wonderful stay Cynthia! We hope to be back soon.

This is our 2nd time staying at Cynthia's Eden Lounge. We just love it. Cynthia is a wonderful host. Her house is clean, well stocked, has a fantastic screened in porch which we just love. Cynthia gives great advice on places to visit on the island and is very friendly. We highly recommend staying here for your trip to St. John!

Cynthia was an excellent host. The screened in porch was awesome at night you could hear the frogs and wildlife from the jungle. There were beach chairs, noodles, coolers, and everything you needed in the shed !

All our family enjoyed stay in this property. The description on website is accurate. The apartment was very clean and well organized, it had everything we needed. The owner was great and very helpful. We are looking forward to return next year.

Cynthia's efficiency apartment is very comfortably equipped and close to everything. It has a king-size bed, a bathroom with a nice shower, a kitchen with everything you will need, a lovely screened-in patio, and a TV and A/C. Cynthia is very helpful and has beach things that guests can use. It is ideal for a single person or a couple and is in a quiet location.

We had a wonderful week on St John and really enjoyed Cynthia’s place. There was plenty of space for my wife, daughter and me and everything was just as we expected from the listing. We live in the mnts so the roads leading out there were fun and it was great being out of the hustle and bustle closer to Cruz Bay. We would definitely stay there again if we return to the island!

Cynthia was an amazing host keeping us so well informed with everything we would want to know. I got sick with a cold while I was there, and she so generously gave me a box of E-mergancy! My husband and I loved staying here for our trip to St. John! Cynthia is sweet and we felt right at home in the apartment. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed to cook with. The screened in porch was great to have our meals in. It was a very safe, quiet and perfectly comfortable place for us to stay on our first trip to St. John!

I had a wonderful time staying here. It was very peaceful and picturesque, located close to Cruz Bay (initially, the drive here was a little tricky, particularly at night, but after two or three times it's a cinch), it had all the amenities that I needed (and then some), and was very reasonably priced. Cynthia was a lovely host. She was extremely helpful and friendly. For someone who is budget-minded, I really couldn't imagine a better vacation spot in St John.

We loved staying in this property. It was tucked out of the way, in a quiet residential area. It was exactly as advertised, and we will definitely stay here again! When we first booked, it was because we were looking to stretch our vacation dollars. We wondered if we would miss not having a view. We did not miss it a bit. We are early risers, were on a beach by 8 most mornings came back around 3 to shower and change, then off to dinner. Since we came back around sunset, we would not even have hard much time to see the view. Cynthia supplies beach chairs, towels, coolers, she has a compact, but efficient kitchen that is well stocked. The entire efficiency unit is air conditioned, plus you have a lovely outdoor screened in morning room. If, before the hurricanes, you used to stay at Caneel, you probably won't be happy here. But if you stayed at Cinnamon, and can live without the view, you will be thoroughly pleased! Thank you, Cynthia!

Eden Lounge truly felt like our home away from home. Coming back every evening from a day of hiking and snorkeling , we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We bought groceries at Dolphin & Starfish and made many of our own meals, eaten in the fresh air of the lovely screened-in porch. At night we were treated to a chorus of frogs and fell asleep with the perfect breeze. Mornings we arose early to the birds, roosters and mother hen with chicks. We also enjoyed doing an "I spy" every day to find which trees the iguanas (harmless) were sleeping in next! Never even turned on the A/C! The bathroom / shower was clean and modern, with plenty of hot water, although we did try to conserve. April was a perfect time to visit; gorgeous, uncrowded beaches & bays and no difficulty getting a seat at a restaurant ( we did reserve for Morgan's Mango). Cynthia was a friendly, informative, unobtrusive host who made sure we had everything we needed. She even bought 2 new beach chairs and lent us a cooler, which we used to bring cold water and lunch to the beach every day. Unfortunately, there was a drought going on so the island was not as lush as usual, but we had a great time just the same. Would definitely come back to the Eden Lounge if we get to St John again!

Everything needed to enjoy your vacation in a paradise of beauty

We knew we had found a great place when we drove up after a long day of travel and saw the screened in porch festively lit and welcoming. It is so pleasant to sit out there. You will need to have a rental car (jeep) to stay here, but why wouldn't you want one anyway. (We rented a Jeep from Just Sun Jeeps and were happy with the convenient service.) The tree frogs were so melodic at night, and even when you could not see the lush vegetation, you knew you were in the tropics. Lots of unique plants surround the area. Although your hostess is on the upper level, you have complete privacy. The room has everything you need. It's clean, attractive and comfortable. The rainwater cistern provided treated, clean water that was delicious for hot tea in the morning and made my hair unbelievably soft. Cynthia can direct you where to go and what to do,and you will feel like you are a real part of island life. We would highly this.

I loved this rental. It was a little hard to find the first time but we’ll worth it! Beautiful landscaping real tropical island feel. St John is small so everything is a short drive. The owner was fantastic!

We absolutely loved this cute little villa in a quiet neighborhood where we woke to the sound of the animals in the jungle every morning. The owner is as wonderful as her place and we will definitely stay again. Perfect for us with a little kitchen and a nice shower with a comfy bed and the screened in porch feels amazing as you sit and feel the breeze from the ocean.
