This is our 4th or 5th visit in this home over the past several years. The beds are super comfy, the kitchen is well stocked, and there are great sand toys in the laundry room for all to enjoy. Everything was very clean. Wish we could come more often!

Perfect overall. The location, closeness of the beach, new deck, full kitchen and amenities were great. Beautiful house and i love that its private and the property owner is not through an agency but instead independent. It was perfect all around. Definitely will stay again.

The house was as advertised; right on the beach and fully stocked to make your stay as easy as possible.
The only hiccups we had were likely because we came down early due to an early Spring Break and it was still the off season in Topsail so the house probably wasn't quite ready for the season. Everything in the kitchen needed to be cleaned before we could use it as there was a light layer of dust on all utensils, bowls, plates etc, the grill was usable but you had to watch it closely so that it doesn't start a grease fire (it needs to be cleaned) and the batteries on the electronic keypad had died, so we had to reach out to the host to find the keys. But that was the extent of it, all minor and easily overcome.
Otherwise the house is fine. You cannot beat the location, its very private, right on the beach. The new back deck is very nice and would be very enjoyable in warmer weather. The owner has made sure that you do not need to bring anything for the bedrooms, bathrooms or kitchen (other than food) as it is fully stocked, linens/towels provided and in the event of bad weather there are plenty of games available.
While it is small (I wouldn't want to have more than 4 people) the house is well appointed and comfortable. Some TLC/touch-ups are needed (especially the front/side porch that needs to be replaced) but by and large the owners have taken good of it.
All said, we would return. Owners were reachable and quick to address any issues, our stay was enjoyable.

We have been coming to Topsail for decades, but with aging parents wanted to find an affordable beachfront property that our whole family could enjoy, and boy did we ever! What a wonderful house in a perfect location! The kitchen, bathrooms (and whole house) were clean and nicely outfitted; when we weren't on the beach itself we lived on the new beachfront deck; and being able to walk to bookstores and cafes and ice cream was delightful!
Carlyn was such a helpful host! When the internet went down (wire from the street to the house had decayed) Carlyn followed up right away and did not give up until the repairman came. This was especially helpful since one of our adult children needed to work from "home" (the beach house) several days that week, and her access to the internet was not hindered. What a wonderful vacation for all of us! We have found our get-away Dream House in a Dream Location!

We really enjoyed the location of this little beach house. The house itself was cute, but we found it a bit off from the listing description. Listing states both bathrooms have been remodeled, along with new kitchen appliances and new grill. One bathroom has been remodeled (and is very nice!), while the other one really needs to be updated. The kitchen appliances were okay, but far from new, aside from the dishwasher. They worked as expected. We had bought food to grill on the grill, but it was very dirty and definitely not new, so we didn’t end up using it at all. Upon arrival, the house was clean-ish. I ended up doing a lot of cleaning before I cooked, as the majority of the dishes and kitchen itself were dirty. The house could use a really good clean and some TLC. The home has a new deck on the ocean side and that is very nice and was a pleasant surprise! The rest of the decking (around the sound side and steps up to the house) is in really rough shape and needs replacing. It didn’t feel very safe. Overall we had a good stay but would have been much happier if the place had just been clean from the get-go.

Great private location in a quieter part of Topsail. Located within walking distance to some restaurants and shops, including Quarter Moon for our morning coffee. The layout of the cottage worked well for us, with 2 bedrooms each on both side of the main living space. We found the home was very clean and included all the necessary items we needed. You can tell the host put a lot of thought into the updates and decorations, which really makes this cottage stand out from others we looked at. Our kids loved the bunk room! We enjoyed having private access to the beach and were overall impressed here. We plan on returning!

The house is great and the ocean view is unbelievable!!!! Very clean and very nicely stocked… linens, towels, pots and pans, detergent etc! So many times you have to bring everything but it was a pleasant surprise to find even trash bags. Thanks for an enjoyable trip! We plan on returning!

Property was as pictured and location was excellent. Communications were great and responsive. On the whole, the property was maintained well with the sole exception of both vacuums on-site being in need of some attention (one needed a good cleaning and the other had a full bag that needed replacing). Vacuums aside, the house was great and the location right on the beach would be hard to beat. We had a great time.

The house and location of the property was perfect for our family. The cleanliness of the house was not what we expected. We had to wash the dishes before we could use most of them. One set of sheets had a large stain on them. There was sand, dirt and trash under the beds, sofa's and other furniture.

We came from Winston Salem for our spring break trip with 2 teenage girls and a infant. This house was a perfect location! The ease of getting to and from the beach made our stay just that much more enjoyable. My husband and I woke up every morning and had our coffee sitting at the bar height chair and umbrella and watch the tide. Our toddler was able to roam freely on the porch because of the gate latches. The teenagers were able to walk safely too and from the pier, arcade and put out place and roller rink. We walked to lunch and dinner a few times because we were close to the local shops. The house has everything you need. I think the deck could use a face lift. Overall the place was exactly what we were looking for. I am looking forward to booking it next year!

Wonderful home and property! We came for Christmas last minute to spend with our new marine who could not go more than 60 miles off base. This house was perfect for us and 4 children. Everything we needed to cook with for everyone in the kitchen, they had the cleaning supplies there for us too. We’ve used this site before and had to bring our cleaning supplies for dishes and laundry. Little touches like nightlights in bathrooms and bedrooms were perfect. The owner was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Had a wonderful Christmas away from home here!

Second stay at this lovely property. The beds are super comfy, extremely clean home which is beautifully decorated. There are some issues with the deck and walkway boards in need some repair, but very difficult to arrange with cost of lumber at this time. I feel certain they will be repaired when the owner can arrange.

My mom, her two older sisters, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carlyn’s home. The layout was perfect for us. It is decorated very beautifully with a beach theme. We felt very comfortable and relaxed at this property. We each had our own room, and everything was on one floor, except the washer and dryer, but we only used it a handful of times and walking stairs is good exercise anyway. The kitchen was well stocked with paper products, cleaning supplies, cooking utensils, coffee pot, toaster, dishwasher, etc. The beds were very comfortable. The showers were great - lots of hot water. The deck was perfect for viewing the ocean (and even seeing SEVERAL dolphins) and had very nice deck furniture. Many reviews have expressed concerns over the condition of the deck, but it was very sturdy, and we personally had no issues or concerns using it. There is a nice boardwalk to the beach, which is a private access for this property. It’s less than a minute walk to the beach. Our only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer, but our jobs were calling us, lol. We would definitely rent this property again.

Great home, repeat renter, only issue was getting on beach. Stayed here before and once you left house the beach (sand)area was flat. This time there were two large sand hills to go over to get to flat beach area. This made it very difficult for my elderly in-laws to get to flat beach area. I realize it was to help with flooding in area, jst wasn't expecting it. Last visit it was so much easier for them.

We had yet another great week at this beautiful beach home! Carolyn is so great to accommodate. Their home has all our family of 5 needed. The location is perfect, walking distance to the beach, the pier, restaurants and not too far for a trip to the grocery store! This house is very clean and gives plenty of room for our family to space out when needed. We thoroughly enjoy this beach house and look forward, Lord willing, to another trip next year!

I cannot express how perfect this property was for my wife’s 40th birthday! There was plenty of space for two couples and two singles. The decor sets the beachy tone, and everything is crisp and clean. The house was spotless, and the location could literally NOT be beat! The beach was almost deserted, we were within walking distance of several shops and an amazing restaurant, and the neighborhood was silent. You are truly steps away from the water, the deck provides a gorgeous view, and the outdoor shower kept us sand-free when it was time for dinner. The house was stocked with all of the essentials. From ziplock baggies to blow dryers, everything we forgot was already there! Extra blankets, beach chairs, boogie boards, and just about anything we could need for a perfect day on the beach. There is a nice stash of board games, and the kitchen island is the perfect place to sit and chat; we never even found the need to turn on the televisions. We can’t wait to visit again! The owners made this an absolutely flawless experience from check-in to check-out!
