Mountain Retreat at Lake Cushman

We have stayed in this home every August for several years. We are never disappointed. It is very homey and inviting.

Our family of 5, 2 parents and 3 teens/young adults, had an amazing 4th of July weekend stay here. Loved the location within the Lake Cushman district, as it is in between the the primary parks/boat launches. Neighborhood is quiet and peacrful (aka no fireworks going off at all hours). Easy walks, or drives, to both. The house had everything we needed and is stocked with all the amenities for BBQ'ing, evening fires in the pit with marshmellow roasting sticks, life jackets for boating, camping chairs for the beach, etc. Also, it was a HOT weekend of weather. The house stays relatively cool, especially with the windows open in the evening. Joni, the host, is great! Very proactive on letting us know about parking passes and permits for using the lake, and was very responsive to my messages and questions. The community had lots of fun activities for the holiday weekend that we were able to participate in, and the lake was really refreshing with the hot weather. We've already booked our stay for next year!

My teenage sons and I had a lovely stay at the house. Perfect location and beautiful area. We loved kayaking in the lake , making s’mores, seeing the wildlife. The owners were super responsive and helpful. I would love to come back again!

House has everything you need. We were gone most days from sunrise to sunset. Was nice to get back to a cozy quiet place. If you hit a sunny day take a drive to Hurricane Ridge or Mt Rainier. Also don’t miss Salmon cascades if salmon are running. Well worth the drive. Head down to the lake and watch the sunset to end your day. Joni was quick to respond to any of our questions.

Each year the 3 sisters plan a trip. We have traveled in state, out of state and out of the country. This year at Lake Cushman was fabulous. So many hiking opportunities, the lake for paddle boarding and kayaking, the friendliness of the people and the quiet.

The property is located on a quiet cul de sac in one of the popular subdivisions. It has a beautiful view of the mountains and a partial view of the lake across the street. I enjoyed the view from the deck with my morning coffee.
The house is very comfortable, clean and accomodated all of us nicely,(2 grandma's, adult daughter, and another daughter with her partner and 4 year old and 10 month old baby and a small dog) with the master bedroom & bath upstairs, the bedroom on the main level and the full size bed in the basement. The community park is close by with a boat launch and play equipment. We enjoyed a hike at Staircase, which is close by too and the kayaks. The owners were excellent with communication before and during our stay. We really appreciated the gas grill, especially when the power went out for a full day.in the subdivision.
The neighbors were friendly and helpful too. We enjoyed watching the deer come through the area too.

We absolutely loved our stay on Lake Cushman. The house had everything we needed to cook our own meals, along with kayaks to enjoy. The area is quiet and peaceful. The neighbors were nice enough to move the garage can for us (thaank you!) And we enjoyed seeing the wildlife in the area. Thank you for a lovely stay. We hope to be back again!

Very clean, comfortable beds, nice kitchen and living room room area with all the amenities you need for your family.
We really enjoyed the view of the mountain and lake from the deck while enjoying time with our friends and family. We highly recommend this place if you need a get away where you have a chance to enjoy the lake, hiking or to relax and read a good book.

We wanted a relaxing and comfortable home base for some hiking and exploring with two teenage girls and this place had everything we needed. We like to cook for ourselves on vacation and both the kitchen and grill we're great, and we enjoyed the fire pit every night of our stay. Great access to the national park and national forest and beautiful Hood Canal.

The property was cozy, perfect for all Fall trip. We loved exploring the neighborhood, and spent many hours at the beautiful lake. It was such a bonus for us that we could easily walk there. The space was clean and everything was set up as advertised. All questions were answered quickly. We recommend arriving during daylight hours as it was hard to find at night. However we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly visit again.

This house rocks the amenities and location! Everything from great wine openers and lime squeezers (sometimes the little things are BIG) and coffee, to wood for the fire pit, games, a sound bar. Great location and the use of the parking permit is a terrific perk. We loved our stay!

We really enjoyed this updated rental. It was as described and very comfortable for our group. My young adult son and my mother were with my husband and I. Our son enjoyed having the basement to himself. My mom uses a cane and walker and could easily access the rental. The only suggestion is to have the water heater adjusted to accommodate more than two showers with hot water.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a week (away from the Phoenix heart). This was perfect. The owners think of everything and the house is well maintained. We were greeted with deer in three driveway upon our arrival, and it just got better fromm there. Unbelievable beauty. Best vacation I've had in years.

Our family had such a great time at this lovely lake house. Close to hiking and 2 beaches that we used to launch our paddle boats from. Local deer joined me for my morning coffee each day while I enjoyed my view of the lake. Thank you Joni for sharing your home with us. We can’t wait to come back!

This was a wonderful layout for our group, with the privacy for couples that a multi-level house offers. Everything was thoughtfully laid out and thoroughly clean. Everything about this house was well-maintained. A great place to relax in and unwind after a day on the lake or hiking.

Perfect Lake Get Away!
We loved our stay at Lake Cushman! This is by far our favorite property for our family to rent here at the lake. Clean home, fully stocked kitchen, great location, the hosts were quick to respond to any questions and many more pros. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

A Real Retreat
Loved the easy access doorknob code, outdoor seating areas, WiFi access, quick walk to the lakeshore park, and plenty of blankets.
Didn’t enjoy the driving distance to convenience (20 min) store and grocery stores (45) or the gasoline tinged scent in the ground floor bedroom.

Spring Break at Cushman
The house was very clean and comfortable. The house had many kitchen staples which I appreciated. The owners were very attentive and answered questions in a timely manner. The 3 story house had a good layout for different people in our group, so everyone had privacy. We look forward to staying here again.

Wonderful Retreat by a Beautiful Lake
Very comfortable home, just a wonderful place to stay. We spent one day hiking in the Olympic National Park, then one day just wandering down to lake and back, hanging out, using the BBQ, etc.

Spring break 2022
We had a wonderful time at this cozy and well equipped cabin. The kitchen is very well stocked. The beds and bed linens are comfortable. There is good WiFi and a smart TV, games, foosball, books. The lake was a little cold to enjoy very much but it was beautiful. We would love to visit again in the summer. The town of hoodsport is 20 minutes away and has a couple of restaurants, and a grocery store.

Loved our stay!
Our little crew had such a great time at Lake Cushman. The house is a great location with proximity to a wonderful park and lake front. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. We even tried out one of the kayaks on day and our little boys had a blast taking turns out with mom and dad. :) Thank you again and we hope to return!

Perfect getaway for our family
We had an early family thanksgiving at this wonderful home and it was perfect. The house itself is perfect…it’s very clean, so well equipped and everything is very well thought out. We had our adult boys and their partners all join us here for a weekend of family fun and our thanksgiving dinner. we were all thrilled with the accommodations and loved the area for walks and the scenery. Definitely would come again. We loved it. The setting itself is wonderful and the home was a great layout for three couples. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Lake House done the right way
This is an awesome lake house - very comfortable, great layout, and had a ton of fun games and kitchen stuff. The amazing outdoor space made it easy to enjoy the serenity around Lake Cushman. We really felt at home here, and would love to visit again.

Great place!
This was our second time staying at this house. Both times the house was clean, well equipped with a good floor plans. Our teens had the basement level to themselves (the fuse ball table was a nice touch).

Nice private feel
Even though it is located in a neighborhood which is part of a lakeside development, it feels secluded. It is very relaxing to sit on the back deck and enjoy use of the grill. What we enjoyed most was the (almost) lack of fireworks. There were a few loud ones set off nearby even though they are prohibited in the development. It was still much quieter than it would have been at home which our dog was thankful for.

Overwhelmingly beautiful
Generally speaking we are undwerwelmed by our VRBO stays. The photos seems to be better than reality. In this case, the opposite was true. We were absolutely stunned by both the home and it’s surroundings. It is the best VRBO stay we have ever had and the location is perfect—walking distance to gorgeous, clear watered Lake Cushman and a short drive to amazing hiking trails in Olympic National Forest and Park.

Your home was well supplied with all amenities plus more...The views were breath taking every morning and evening right off the deck, which over look the lake and mountains. We enjoyed every night by the fire pit which was supplied with plenty of wood, thank you. I loved that your home is dog friendly and was easy access, for my disabled girlfriend to get around on first level ,which fulfilled all her needs. We would love to stay here again.
