Full laundry facilities, good hot showers and farm fresh eggs for the morning. Owner is super nice gentleman.

I loved the farm fresh eggs, the generously stocked kitchen, good coffee, beautiful, comfy communal living room with music option on the TV monitor, 😜! The manager let me store my fish in the Guest House freezer for several days, and responded quickly when I locked myself out of my room. Talkeetna is a bit touristy but this place had a sweet homey feel!

The main issue was communication between the booking agency and the manager. When it came to refund and cancellation policy, it wasn’t clear communication. I wish i hadn’t used a booking agent.

Shared Kitchen, all very tidy and plenty of room. Nice area, quiet and friendly people.

Chance was so helpful. Collected us to and from rail, tour of town. Nothing was too much trouble. Exceptionally clean and well organised accommodation.

Very helpful staff, who gave us rides to and from bus and train stops to the Hideaway house. Very clean and new. Wonderful bed and towels. Washer and dryer available. Fan in room helped with potential noise of room being near the common living room and kitchen. Very well supplied kitchen with food to share and fresh eggs. Shared toilet and shower rooms were kept very clean and were never busy. Nice long walk through the woods to the main street. Fantastic breakfast and lunch available a few blocks away at a Swiss Lodge restaurant.

The bedroom needed more towel racks so large bath towels could dry.

Large bedroom, wraparound porch, large common area, well stocked kitchen, reading area, kind staff, well stocked bathrooms. We were particularly a fan of the shower rooms.

No blackout curtains.

Location is a bit out of town but easily walked. Owner was awesome. Gave us a tour of town when he picked us up from the bus.

Chance was the best host ever. When we arrived at the train station he gave us a tour of town to show us where everything was and showed us the walking path to get to town from the property. Great recommendations on food, nightlife, and how to get a ride to the rafting company. Kind enough to have a drink and chat with us when we saw him out in town in the evening. The laundry facility was great with detergent provided and tons of quarters to make change for the machines. The beds were super comfy and the room was quiet which was a welcome relief after a previous noisy camping stay in Denali.

Wish we had the time to stay another night.

This place was super comfortable and homey. We loved the use of the kitchen and the teas and such left for us to consume. The price was reasonable and we were very close to town. Loved it!

It was very cosy and tenderly established... room was nice and the kitchen well equipped :) would definitively recommend it...good starting spot for a trip to the Denali NP

Very clean, self check in was super easy.

A bit noisy between the rooms, (lacking noise insulation between walls and floors) but everyone was quiet after 10 pm.

The organization and efficiency for “no host” check-in were seamless and easy. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and the commons areas were upgraded and well-equipped. The staff (Chance) was friendly and responsive and we will definitely recommend The Hideaway to others.

Very well kept and spotless facility provided clean towel set along with plenty of soap and paper towels. Coffee and tea are always available for the guests.

only complaint is that it is a 20 minutes walk from the train station and hard to walk with luggage on the unpaved portion of the road. I learned later that owner will pick up the guests if arrangements are made before arriving.

The building is very fresh and clean. There were several items in the refrigerator available to the guests, eggs, cheese, lunch meats, and coffee. We would definitely stay here again. Very friendly proprietor.

It was rather hot for Talkeetna ( global warming you know) and the building has no AC.
