Awesome place to come home to after a couple of days skiing at buller. Comfy beds, warm fire/heater and good kitchen. Would stay again :)

Everything was clean, the fireplace was set up nicely, even got to chop a few pieces of wood myself! Hot water came fast, the heating was great. Only one thing to note, it would be best for the owner to take out all the food, oil, tea etc and replace them, or even not have those at all since almost everything is past best-befote dates. Not complaining because those are totally bonuses.

Nice property, convenient for a family or 2 to stay. Has all you need, good heating. Recommend arriving 1st day in daylight as it is tucked away and was hard to find at night. Owner was great to communicate with. Easy drive to Mt Buller.

Dave was very accomodating and easy to communicate with. The property was very clean and tidy. Would recommend looking into this great little property. Perfect place for a weekend away!

We loved staying here and loved the house. The location Sawmill Settlement is tucked away in a forest area and is beautiful. The neighbours were very friendly and we really enjoyed ourselves. Good air con and coffee machine in the house and comfortable beds and couches. We were able to take our two small dogs which was excellent. Highly recommend it!

We stayed at Mountain View Retreat for 2 nights (13-14 July 2021) & were extremely disappointed for the following reasons: 1. There was no instruction manual explaining how to work anything especially the heater which we desperately needed to warm up when we arrived. I messaged the manager Dave but no response & finally worked it out an hour later. Asked Dave for his mobile number should anything happen. 2. We had no hot water the 2nd day & night, called Dave’s mobile & left message but no return phone call. We worked out ourselves the gas bottle was empty for gas hot water. 3. The wood left for the fireplace was wet so wouldn’t burn effectively. 4. The outside wheelie bin was full of rubbish & was only a recycle bin so we couldn’t put our rubbish in it so had to leave it in the bin inside the house (something we would never do). 5. There were stains all over the couch (covered up with rugs) & carpets in bedrooms. 6. The shower door glass hits a screw, the glass is clipped & surprisingly hasn’t scattered yet. We were very careful opening & closing but others may not be. We have stayed in a lot of properties booked through Stayz & based on the above this was certainly not worth near what we paid.

Wonderful, clean and homely. Great location right near the bus to the slopes. We stayed two nights on our trip up to Buller and fell in love. Everything you need and more for a comfortable stay. Beds and couch are outrageously comfortable. This will be our first choice for our trips to Buller in the future. Thank you!

We had a lovely 2 night stay in this comfortable house. Lovely quiet location in a small cluster of houses yet still private. Kitchen was well equipped & bed very comfortable. Lots to see and do in the area. The owner was very responsive and a delight to deal with.

Stayed at the 'Mountain View' Retreat with a group of friends to get out of the city for a few days. Loved the property and the location. Dave made it easy from the get-go with timely responses to any and all questions and clear instructions on how to get there and no-hassle entry instructions. The property has a modern feel, despite being in a rustic location. Made good use of the fireplace (didn't need to turn on the heater at all) and appreciated the stockpile of wood provided. We used the kitchen, but It's close to the pub if you feel like going out for a meal. There are state park walks nearby if you brought a dog (which we did) and very close to the entry to Mt Buller for some skiing in the winter. Would recommend!

Ideal location to visit attractions around Mt Buller. Property is located in quiet settlement and the house had all we needed and not too difficult to find with good directions from owner. The kitchen, bathroom/laundry were well stocked. The weather was mild so we did not get to use the wood fire.

Our planned four day trip was cut short due to connections with the NSW fires then the closing of the Vic parks and trails. Despite this we enjoyed our night at this property which was located close enough to the mountain to make day trips and easy to find. The house was well appointed with modern amenities and a comfortable airy living room to rlelax in. Dave the owner was easy to work with and responsive to communications.
