Summer Salt Cottage is a comfortable house for a family of four. The location is ideal--an easy walk to downtown Bar Harbor and a super short drive to the best of Acadia. Laura is responsible and friendly. We would stay here again.

Very nice house in a great area. Had an issue with the stove that was resolved quickly and efficiently with great communication from the hosts.

Enjoyed a stay here in December with our three kids. The location just steps away from a playground is awesome, and it is easy walking distance to everything in Bar Harbor. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals all week, and the house was very clean and comfy. Would definitely recommend to other travelers visiting MDI!

This was a beautifully appointed house with all of amenities anyone would need or want. It reminded me of the house I grew up in and it felt like home right away. We only cooked one night, but the kitchen had everything. The laundry was great and we packed less knowing it was available. The location was great and we walked to town for dinner and shopping many times. It is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again.

The home is even better than pictured in the listing. It is immaculately kept and cleanliness is far beyond many properties we have stayed in. Lovely touches throughout - very charming aesthetic - and is well equipped with everything you need. Also a super convenient walk to downtown - perfect to get out for a morning walk for local pastries and coffee. Laura was also incredibly accommodating and responsive. We would absolutely stay at her property again!

Summer Salt Cottage is a perfect place to stay when visiting Bar Harbor. It’s clean, comfortable and the location is ideal for walking into the village or going into Acadia National Park. It’s our second time here and we will be back.

Our family of 6 loved our stay at the Summer Salt Cottage! The home is immaculately clean, well stocked for guests, cozy yet spacious, the perfect walk to town, and a close drive to Acadia. Laura provided everything we needed and more. This was also our first time to Bar Harbor and Acadia and we had such a wonderful experience, we hope to return in the future!!

Great little house for a family getaway to MDI. Perfect location to walk into town but also convenient to the park road ,etc. Great size for a small-mid family. The house is immaculately clean and well stocked - Id say of 5-6 Bar Harbor VRBOs we have had over the years its probably the best stocked rental Ive seen - better stocked than the listing indicates in fact. Higly reccomended.

My husband and I stayed with our three teenagers at the Summer Salt Cottage. This is our second time vacationing in Bar Harbor. The first time, in 2021, we stayed in the downtown area. Although everything was at our doorstep, it was noisy and getting in and out with the car was a bit of a pain. When we saw the Summer Salt Cottage, we knew it was the perfect location...away from the hustle and bustle but easily accessible on foot. The house was nice and peaceful, very comfortable, and had everything needed for out of town guests. We slept well and had plenty of space when we needed some down time after adventuring. The Farmer's Market was around the corner on Sunday so it was a great way to fill the fridge and support the locals. We were so happy and grateful that Laura shared her home with us and went the extra mile to feel like you were home away from home. Ty Laura!

The Summer Salt Cottage was just right for our family. We loved being walking distance from downtown Bar Harbor but also a quick drive from Acadia. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some of our meals in. Highly recommended.

We have loved the memories we have made at Summer Salt Cottage. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, and necessary culinary items to make life feel like you're at home. Great backyard for children to play in, and convenient to town and the local parks.

The house was excellent. So cute and well equipped for a weeks stay. As many reviews indicate, the house is so close to everything that we were easily able to walk everywhere. And it’s only minutes from Acadia. Laura ordered us a cooler to use during our stay since she didn’t have one already at the house. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.

We love staying here in the late fall! The kitchen is well equipped for baking and cooking. It is just a short walk into the village where lots of unique shops and restaurants are located. It is only minutes drive to Acadia with all it has to offer. Such a comfortable place to stay!

This was the 4th - maybe 5th? - time I have stayed at Summer Salt Cottage and it was just as lovely as every other stay. The house is impeccably clean, tastefully decorated, and filled with every item you might need to feel at home. The location is perfect and Laura is a wonderful, thoughtful host. I will be back!

the house was ideally located and clean! We left our car and rode bikes a few days....could walk to the market for groceries as well as to restaurants. Loved being in residential area, and proximity to Shore path! Staying in town was ideal for all things local and park related! Kitchen was well stocked~! Loved it and plan to be back!

My husband and I stayed at Laura’s cottage on our first trip to Bar Harbor/Acadia first week of October and it was absolutely a perfect home away from home. Everything was was very clean and very well appointed. We loved being within walking distance to restaurants and shops in downtown Bar Harbor. Laura was a helpful and very gracious host. The Summer Salt Cottage was an excellent choice for our stay in Bar Harbor. Laura was very responsive, the cottage was immaculate, the location was walkable to all shops and restaurants in the Bar Harbor village and a short drive to Acadia National Park. We only needed to use our car to visit the park. No question that we will be staying here on our next visit, next fall.

The place was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. Had all the comforts of home and many personal touches that made us feel welcome. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Laura’s house. The house is beautifully decorated, exceptionally well provisioned, and very cozy. (On a rainy day we baked the popovers with the mix she left as a welcoming gift, and we stayed in and read all day.) The house is centrally located so we were able to walk to dinner in the evenings. It was the perfect base for our visit to Acadia.

Laura was excellent in communicating with us on all aspects of her home and Bar Harbor navigation and recommendations. The Summer Salt Cottage was immaculate, nicely appointed, in a quiet section and within walking distance to town, the Shorepath and the children’s park. The beds were comfy and the décor throughout the historic home was inviting, eye-appealing, well-stocked, and in perfect condition. We loved our stay here, for our first visit to Maine. Upon arriving, you can tell the home is very well cared for, and is kept extremely clean. It had everything we could have possible needed. The proximity to town was great, too. It was very easy to walk into town, as well as easy to drive out of town. Our boys loved the park right on the corner, and even made some new friends. It felt very much like we were home. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Laura was a fantastic host and the home could not have been any cleaner and more inviting for our family. She had the house just perfect to make a wonderful experience. The popovers and blueberry jam were a huge hit, too. Every night after hiking during the day, our family would walk from the house down to the shore path (using the Wayman Ln access), then up through the shops, and back to the house. We already miss Bar Harbor and hope to be back. For anyone that chooses this house, they will not be disappointed. Thank you, Laura!

We previously rented two vacation homes in Bar Harbor. The Summer Salt Cottage was by far the best of the three in all respects. The home is perfectly located in a quite historic neighborhood within easy walking distance to downtown. There is also a large park nearby. The house was beautifully recently renovated. It is very nicely decorated. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is fully equipped. We highly recommend. We will be staying at the Summer Salt Cottage again.
