PORT OF THE WHALE was the perfect vacation rental for our three-generation family gathering. The home is lovely, had plenty of space for our group of 9, and is in an incredible location. The elevator was appreciated by the family member who has difficulty navigating stairs. We visited in December and enjoyed both the beach and the pools. The property is close to St. Augustine, and we saw a spectacular rocket launch from the second and third level decks. We loved the ocean view and listening to the waves all day long (this may change as it appears that a home is going to be built on the vacant lot between the home and the beach). We would definitely visit again.

The house itself was phenomenal! It had everything we could possibly want. The beds were comfortable as were the couches. Super Clean home! The community itself was a bit disappointing for only two reasons...There is no easy way to get all your beach stuff down to the beach...you have no choice but to take a flight of stairs...why isn't there a ramp? Everyone has the beach carts filled with their stuff and not everyone has help to carry it. Second biggest complaint was all the boulders in the Ocean...everyone in our group cut up their feet. This was never mentioned. It was horrendous to deal with, so much so that we spent most of the time in the community pool. I will not choose this area again because of that. We wanted a beach vacation...

This was our third time staying at the Port of Whale. We rent this home as well as a condo (only a few houses down the street) to accommodate our large family. We love staying here The location is great! The house has everything needed, including beach towels and chairs, a fully equipped kitchen, and a great location to the beach, pools, and clubhouse. Not only did we enjoy all the amenities at the resort, there were many things to do outside it. One of the best things we did was go to Blue Springs Park. It was definitely worth the drive. The water felt great. It was so clear and the temperature was perfect for an hot day. We even were able to see a manatee. Our only complaint at the resort is the rocks in the ocean. They limit the activities in the water, such as boogie boarding. You never know when you are going to land on one of these large rocks. I don’t know how they could be removed but that would certainly be a plus. Despite the rocks, next year we will definitely be heading back to Port of the Whale. We love it!

Overall this is an ideal property to share a family vacation. There were some missing roof tiles from the third floor deck area. We knew that was a result of hurricane Ian. That was nothing to keep us from enjoying the deck area. Our daughter was tele networking while we were there. Receive mad compliments of the view and where was she located. I would highly recommend Port of Whales to anyone looking for a vacation renental home!!

Our Vacation at Cinnamon Beach
Our family: 9 of us from 4 to 80. We are VRBO veterans and I was a little nervous not to be dealing with the actual owner, but the folks at Cinnamon Beach were fast to answer questions, patient to explain how things worked and very attentive to details. The sunrises were breathtaking and the waves and swells beyond the surf enticed all of us into the water. The pools made us all happy. Loved the Grille’s food and drinks. The house is super well-equipped- even cupcake baking pans. The grill is great and the elevator helped us all. The main room had a great view and seated up to 15 one day at dinner. All of us loved the third floor balcony every evening. Plenty of room to play indoor games. Very safe and secure! Thank you, Cinnamon Beach Vacations!

Beautiful home in a great gated community! We enjoyed the closeness to the wonderful pools and beach. The property manager was extremely responsive to an issue which was resolved quickly and professionally. Kitchen was stocked with any type of utensil, pan, etc you would need. Beautiful Beach Home
This home had everything we needed for a week long stay. The beds were all very comfortable. The beach and pools were a very short walk from the house. The food and drinks at the cafe were awesome but a little pricey. We loved the beach but we were disappointed that we could not swim in it because of all of the rocks. We enjoyed walking the beach and playing in the sand and shore. A beautiful, clean and safe community. The beach was never crowded. I recommend spending an afternoon at Flagler beach near the pier if you want to get in the water- it was also fun to watch all of the surfers! It was a short and beautiful drive away and well worth it.

Pandemic Getaway
We were looking for a beach getaway during the pandemic. The location wasn't too far from home yet a million miles away! The house was amazing! Plenty of room for a family of four, wonderful ocean views and a quick walk to the beach, community pool and oceanside pool. The house was spotless. We had one small issue with the microwave and tv, but it was fixed with one phone call to the property manager. Social distancing was practiced on the property and the community spaces were clean. Lots of local restaurants that deliver or provide carry out service. Loved the house and the community!

This house was a last minute option because our other house wasn't going to be ready in time for our vacation. This house was in the same subdivision we have been in for the last 7 years. the house was Beautiful, clean, and has great views of the Ocean. The owners even had beach chairs and coolers that we could use for the week. Our family loves this area and will continue to come back. I would high recommend this house if a beach vacation is in your future. We took 10 people with us and had plenty of room, WIFI was good and roku's in every room. The view of the Ocean from the third floor in the morning was gorgeous. My only suggestion there is you may want to bring a fan for the Balcony it does get hot very early in the morning with the Sun hitting you in the face. Nighttime is very peaceful as you enjoy your drink on the Balcony listening to the waves crashing.

When our cruise was cancelled we urgently needed to find somewhere and someplace to stay. We went on VRBO and found this gem. There were 7 of us traveling together and this home had plenty of space for everyone. The house was clean and the pools and beach access were just a 2 min walk. They thought of everything in this hose and given the trying times with the Corona virus we still had a great vacation. Thank you to the management company as well for being so responsive!!

Quiet vacation home for family fun
Perfect large home for extended family vacation. The seven of us spanning in age from 3 to 70 had plenty of space in this large, 3-story home just across the street from the beach, with partially obscured beach view exactly as pictured in the listing. Of great importance to our family was complete accessibility for a wheelchair, with elevator and stepless entry. The vacation community has a quiet, beachfront pool for the adults with strict rules restricting noise, splashing and pre-swimmers. Across the street is the "active" pool about 5 feet at its deepest, was lots of fun for kids of all ages and grown ups. There is also a separate kiddie pool 18 inches deep, with a super-gentle water slide for ages preschool to elementary. Hot tub and plenty of poolside chairs and recliners. The home's kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals at home, and the Publix supermarket 1/2 mile away had everything we needed. The beach itself is quiet, non-commercial (no jet skis, parasailing, etc), and feels very natural and well preserved in its natural state. We rented a beach cabana for the week and loved having shelter from the sun while playing in the ocean. Our rental manager was completely available, both in making some last minute changes to our reservation, and helping us get checked in. He checked on us by text a time or two during the week. We felt very nicely cared for.

Very clean house. Great location. Convenient to the beach and the pool. Well stocked with kitchen needs, beach chairs, etc. The elevator was unreliable (someone got stuck in it twice). The management, however, was quick to answer our calls for help. Needs a permanent fix. No traditional cable service, but thankfully we had Hulu and Netflix accounts for the TVs. We didn't realize how gross the pillows were until we stripped the beds at the end. They need to be replaced! Overall a good experience.

The location was perfect from the pool and beach access to the short drive to St. Augustine. We will definitely be making future plans to return to this beautiful, spacious, and very clean home.

Port of the Whale was the perfect spot for a fun family weekend at the beach. The house was beautiful- well decorated and immaculate. We were all very comfortable. Having the elevator was great for the grandparents. Access to the beach and pool was easy and all of the facilities were well kept. I highly recommend this house!

We had a superb time. Lovely home, plenty of room, tastefully decorated & furnished. Very comfortable home with great views of the ocean, short walk to the pools & beach. Would definately stay here again & highly recommend to anyone considering this homw.
