The owner and all the staff were exceptional and did what they could to make sure our stay was comfortable. We loved everything about it.

The guesthouse is in Melville near UJ, SABC and Wits. It is a still area with the birds singing in the morning. Breakfast nice with home made vetkoek and bread.

It was fine. The parking in the area is a bit of a challenge

I had the cheapest room and it was expectably small but sunny with a nice terrace and garden right next to it. Agterplaas itself is probably one of the best accomodations you can wish for in Johannesburg! It is right at Melville's 7th street with a lot of bars, restaurants and shops. It is safe and clean. The whole team is very friendly, caring and fothcoming. AND THE BREAKFAST IS MARVELLOUS! They serve homemade bread along with freshly cooked omelets or English breakfast and the like. Whenever I should come back to Jo'burg, I'll know where to stay. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDABLE!

Lovely atmosphere, perfectly clean, in a very secure part of the area. This is a wonderful place for tourists to experience one of the many local cultures, and one of the very few opportunities to do so. It is also highly recommended for business persons because it is very well situated to moat of Johannesburg’s major business districts including Sandton, Randburg and the central business district jet it is in a save, quiet and beautiful area surrounded by small hills. The breakfast include an option between the usual that you get with all other good guest houses but also an option to choose from a variety of locally unique breakfast types including the best traditional local farm bread with farm fresh butter and a variety of traditional preserves, served in an authentic dining area, which is in its own a cuisine experience not to be missed. Friendly, professional and excellent service from wonderful people from a diversity of several local cultural backgrounds. Absolutely a must-include in the itinerary of any tourist.

The location is in the perfect location, right by restaurants, but also quiet and has a great view. the staff are also delightful and friendly.

Large, beautiful and very affordable room, with a lovely garden to sit in as well. The breakfast was copious and the people were extremely friendly.

Not that it's something the staff could help, but of course, the load shedding is at times rather impractical. Also, one evening, there wasn't any water. But that too is part of a more general problem in S-A, not something the staff at Agterplaas is to blame for.

The staff is absolutely wonderful! I felt so taken care of. I had a nice room with everything I needed. They have really thought about the details. Its also quiet, I slept very well. The breakfast is the best, so much to choose from and all delicious! Beautiful view and lots of space to sit and enjoy (or work) both inside and especially outside.

The people in charge of the property have the most beautiful energy ever. The place has an incredible atmosphere. One of the best places that I have ever stayed. It is elegant, confortable, peaceful and the location is perfect with many nice places in the same street.

Absolutely everything. This place is truly wonderful. Delightful, happy staff, fantastic breakfast, secure, interesting neighborhood and bars and restaurants in easy safe walking distance, great room, great price, wifi was strong. Couldn't have been happier.
