The hotel is in a fabulous location and is an authentic small English country hotel. Rooms are small but comfortable, and have all you need. A decent breakfast is included in price, and there's a small bar and lounge area for relaxing.Staff were very helpful. If you don't have a lot of luggage - it's an easy walk from the train station up to the hotel (along the old cobbled roads). Rye is a great town - steeped in history and old world charm and enhanced with lovely cafes, pubs and restaurants. Highly recommend Rye and the Hope Anchor.

Beautiful old hotel, very friendly staff, great view, very comfortable room, delicious breakfast. Very easy to get to by train via St Pancras as hotel is short walk from station. The town is on the National Cycle Network Route 2 so you can safely walk or cycle either way along the coast off-road. We hired e-bikes in Camber Sands and enjoyed cycling from there to Lydd and back.

Das Zimmer war wirklich liebevoll eingerichtet und hatte alles, was man braucht. Es war sehr sauber und die schönen alten Möbel haben für den richtigen Charme gesorgt. Das gesamte Haus war sehr gemütlich und Familiär eingerichtet. Man hatte das Gefühl, man sei bei jemandem zu Besuch:) Das Personal war super freundlich und aufmerksam. Auch das Frühstück war lecker und ausreichend und das Konzept, dass man selber entscheiden kann wie man was zubereitet haben möchte, fanden wir sehr gut. Außerdem war die Lage toll. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Das einzige was man eventuell bemängeln könnte, war die Dusche. Die wurde nämlich durch ein sehr merkwürdiges Gerät bedient, dass sehr laut und alt war.

Great bar man Malcom, really quaint, breakfast was included and service from staff and quality of produce was great. They operate on a breakfast pre tick list to allow for the kitchen to prep and have all items you require ready. Very efficient and effective way of working. Thanks all. Would definitely like to stop again !

Location was excellent for everything in the town. Stunning Views from the rooms. Great Breakfast and lovely little bar all topped off with the friendliest staff.

The place is a little tired and really needs a lick of paint and, unfortunately, the cleaning is a little suspect too (although linen/towels were clean etc the rooms / bathrooms were just a little too 'grubby'). Didn't spoil our stay though!

Truly a fine establishment. Very good breakfast, both continental and British. Excellent eggs, tasty bacon, good sausages. The room was large, exceptionally quiet (despite being in the centre of Rye), comfy, gorgeous view, overall a delight. The staff is kind and friendly. We cannot wait to be back.

This hotel is lovely. I have stayed here before and found it exactly the same. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The room was very clean with a lovely view. Doves on the balcony in the morning were an extra bonus!!! It is superb value for money at all levels with a location that is excellent for Rye and all the magic it has to offer. Breakfast was excellent …I am a vegan and the staff went over backwards to accomodate me….which they did successfully. It is very well run and managed….I look forward to my next stay.
