Beautiful Hotel and free parking on site.

Lovely and quaint. Nice and clean and friendly staff

Airy, spacious room with lovely views. The room was clean and had tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer etc. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were extremely polite, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great, with plenty of choice. We were very impressed with our experience here! Would definitely recommend a stay!
Nothing!

Breakfast was ok. Would have preferred more fruit, as fruit salad was on the menu, but not available. Scrambled egg was runny, but everything else was nice.
There were twin basins in the en-suite, but the taps in one of them didn’t work.

Nothing
1) The attitude of the lady on the reception desk
2) The £20 surcharge on arrival for my tiny dog; hidden in the hotel's own T&C page
3)!Being checked into a room that had not been cleaned or made up from the previous guest.
4) The poor standard of housekeeping in the 2nd room I was given.
5) Inadequate parking and the appalling state of the car park.
6) No one on reception when I checked out: allegedly there was 24 hour reception!
4.1
The grounds, the size of the room, and especially Eddie's work and attitude.
Breakfast only had waterlemon. Maybe more fruits? Kiwi? Something? But it was okay.

Great value for money, great room facilities including large jacuzzi bath. Breakfast £12.50 - lots of choice on the menu freshly cooked to order, can even take a coffee to go. Would stay again.

We liked the room, the service and the staff. The food in the restaurant was fantastic and the breakfast was excellent.
We liked everything about it
4.1
Room was well decorated, clean and spacious
Staff in restaurant were excellent and food of a very high standard.
Peaceful stay
Blind broken in bathroom, although "fixed" by a friendly member of staff (still broken but down for privacy.
Spa bath didn't work and no hot water after filing up bath once!!
Was given wrong information about room at start but that was a minor inconvenience.

Nothing we didn't like we have fell in love with the place

A beautiful hotel in an amazing setting. Helpful friendly staff.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

An absolutely beautiful property - old building, really lovely, in a good location. The bath was absolutely fantastic to have and made for a really unique trip.
The staff were really friendly and drinks were reasonably priced at the bar. If I'm ever up in the area again (from all the way down south in Dorset), I will certainly look to stay here!
There wasn't anything that fit the bill here to dislike. If I could have one very very minor gripe, it would be that the bed was a little small, but I'm a broad shouldered guy, so it's not a really fair criticism, as that's also my fault for going to the gym so much :P

Place is very outdated and dirty. We where asked too leave at 11pm at midnight with no where to go and they didn’t give us any explanation.Apparently it’s at there discretion. We can confidently say we did absolutely nothing wrong. We went the shop and came back too our room and it was locked. Staff where very blunt and didn’t care that we’d had no where to go that night. Definitely wouldn’t recommend

The grounds were stunning (although a little neglected) and the staff were all very nice.
The grounds were stunning but a little neglected, need a good sort out and tidy

Not much of a wine choice

Only stayed one night. It was excellent.

The outside of the property was gorgeous and in full bloom. The inside was pleasant sort of like an older welcoming home.
Even though there was an elevator, there still were several steps to navigate on a floor. In addition, it was lit dimly more than what I liked. Also, there was no air conditioning in the outside room I was in. Even with a window open and it being 18 degrees outside, it was still a little uncomfortable in the room.
4.1
The room was cosy and provided all the facilities we needed, but could have had a few more teabags, coffee and milk in the room
More coffee, tea and milk please

Virtually everything was excellent! The room was large and well appointed, the bathroom was super; double sink and spar bath. The breakfast was superb and great value(£10)..
The hotel grounds are beautiful and spacious.
There was only one tiny negative. The shower head dripped annoyingly but really not an issue.

It was a little dated but a cracking little hotel tucked away down a country lane. Gardens were well kept. We had dinner in the restaurant, and when the staff member asked if we were happy with our food, i said no and wanted to see the chef, he enquired why and i told him i wasnt happy with my rack of lamb, when chef came to the table he politely asked if there was a problem, i said yes and asked with a smile on my face where the little chefs hats were that you put on the rib bones, we all had a chuckle and the chef stayed for a chat. All the staff were exceptional, well done

Room lovely. Spa bath, big TV, lovely wallpaper and decor. Robes provided. Gorgeous grounds.
Corridors a little tired.

Staff were excellent and considering they had a staff party that night we were well looked after and not disturbed.
Room was cold and couldn't figure AC but it was OK.

Helpful staff. Comfy bed. Large towels. Good shower.

Breakfast excellent.
Room was cold with only a small heater, but we were going out for the evening so did not report it.

Lovely location very quiet, clean room, jacuzzi bath.
Served by Josh in bar area who was very helpful even though it was his first day, tasty food.
Dripping taps, faulty windows, had to keep bathroom door shut when using bath/shower otherwise alarm went off. Clicking from radiator as timer had been set to come on in middle of night. Strange man knocked on door to see if we had left for housekeeping, we only had to be out of room for 11 and this was before?? Had a strange encounter on reception with a strange woman??
View from room was a pond but needed a good clean around the area and water putting in the pond.

clean. great location.

Nice friendly staff who made you feel welcome. And the hotel was clean and did not smell 'doggy'.
The hotel in general and bedroom was very cold. I understand the cost of heating but the cold made it feel uncomfortable. There was a heater in the bedroom but this went off when you removed the door card so you came back to a freezing room. Also at breakfast, the plates where not warm so your cooked breakfast went cold in seconds which ruined it. Plus breakfast was extra and not included in the room cost and although this is a dog friendly hotel, you have to pay an additional charge for your dog (£35 for 2 nights) so in all the cost of the room, the breakfast and extra charge for the dog set us back £235 for 2 nights which I don't think was worth it. And, if you want an evening meal, your dog is only allowed in the bar area which was difficult as the bar area has very limited seating with very low coffee tables which is not practical for eating a meal or if your disabled. The hotel did allow us to use the restaurant but only cos we offered to put our very small dog in a dog carrier. Anyone with a big dog would struggle to use a large crate to use the restaurant. The only other option would be to leave your dog in your room whilst you eat but that's only if you don't have a dog that wont bark when your out of sight. Unfortunately our dog would have panicked at being left alone in a strange place. So in all, this isn't really a 'dog friendly hotel' although your dog can sleep in your room for an additional charge. Finally, there was no light at the door entrance to the hotel so we had to guess the steps in the dark which was dangerous and definitely an accident waiting to happen. Would we stay here again? No.

Suite was a lovely room & the huge spa bath! Plenty of hot water to fill it too. Once warm it was worth the price I paid.
We arrived during the very cold spell & the suite was absolutely freezing. No central heating in this part of the hotel. One wall heater & 2 of the little 500w ? plug in small space heaters. The heating had not been turned on before arrival. Moved all heaters to the bedroom area to try & warm - too cold to sit in the living area. Following morning asked reception for extra heater then later asked house keeping who brought me a heater immediately. As I was working from the room it was a godsend,! Finally the room was warm!! But the cold spoilt the first evening it what was meant to be a romantic break & the suite price wasn't cheap....
Also bar prices were extortionate - £30 for a bottle of wine - checked online, could be purchased for less than £10, a glass of orange juice from a carton available at lidl £4....... I know that there is always a mark up but!
