Location

I was a bit sceptic about this accomodation since I mostly try to book accommodations with 8+ ratings. However I feel the rating does not give it justice. We stayed in a cabin and it was very cute with a fireplace. You can easily cook yourself and have some relaxing time in the sauna. The cabin were also spacious enough for at least 2 people. The breakfast in the hotel was also very good and well prepared.

We didn't have time to enjoy more facilities of the accommodation so I can not rate the gym or shared pool or something. One tip I would have is to diversify the coffee options in the morning during breakfast.

it’s the second time we stay in a log cabin in wintertime and it has been great. Good cleaning service, breakfast, location, fireplace. Very relaxing log cabin.

There isn’t the oven (no space for it) but it’s not a problem for a short stay.

Many cross-country track. The buffet.

Best location in Äkäslompolo for access to trails. Good varieties of buffet food. Guest washing machine and drier, swimming pool and saunas.

The cosy Blockhouse was very comfi and the fireplace surrounded by all the snow, makes it a stunning stay!

It was a little bit dirty (some old nuts etc.)

It’s a bit run-down, quite basic accommodation. value for money could be better.

Breakfast was great and suitable for kids. Location was amazing, short walk to shops and food. Friendly helpful staff throughout hotel. Nice views. Option to keep room longer for small fee, as we had late flights. Wifi was good.

Doors quite difficult to open/close, especially with one hand (whilst carrying kids or other items). Vacuum cleaner would have been handy to keep the floor clean throughout stay. TV dated and not much suitable for children.

Breakfast was excellent. Cottage suited very well for our purposes. Restaurant staff were very friendly.

The rooms were really basic, bathroom poorly equipped. No bide shower and everything seemed to be from the 80’s. Poor ventilation/air conditioning. Worst of all was the noise, you could hear everything both from inside and out. We couldn’t sleep at all even with earplugs on. Apparently there’s a nightclub at the hotel and we could hear the music all night long. The parking lot in front of our window was full of loud people and cars blasting music all night as well. Really bad experience. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay in Ylläs choose something else!

The location was great, just right next to the cross country slopes and starting point for plenty other outdoor activities. We had one of the log cabins. Bars and restaurants are within a short walking distance (10-15 minutes, hotel restaurant even closer). Even there had been some Covid restrictions in place the hotel staff provided a perfect service - for example lunch packages ready to pick up.

The log cabins are relatively old, they provide all required facilities for a long stay, the beds have been comfortable and the log cabin provides its own rustic Charme, but a little refurbishment would provide a much nicer experience in those.

Great breakfast. Our cabin log is very traditional look from outside but inside it is complete with amenities. The hotel provide fire wood for free. At other place that we stay, firewood only available for a fee. Gas station and and big supermarket is within short driving distance.

Everything! Location is great 👍🏻 Parking outside the cottage is available. The staff at reception are very friendly & prompt! Apartment log cabin has everything you need with all basic kitchen facilities.
