The best aspect of this hotel is a spectacular location - just actress the street from the Porta Nigra! View from my room was superb, and so much was in very easy walking distance. The room was a good size, and beds were comfortable. Breakfast, although expensive (typical for good German hotels), was a great buffet with many tasty offerings. I found my room to be clean, but some travelers in my group felt that the room was less clean than desired.

As this is a chain, it lacks the charm that locally-owned hotel might have. Wish there had been more types of Broetchen offered for breakfast, but that is not a complaint. . . just a suggestion. All in all, this was a very good stay, and the location was topnotch!

The hotel has an unbeatable location in the town, opposite the Porta Nigra. It looks like it has undergone some much needed renovation in the past year or so. We had a good and comfortable stay. The breakfast is fine. Parking (paid) on site.

"toiletries" consisted of a soap handpump. No pillowcase on one of the beds. Upon request at reception: "Yes, we are having a problem with the pillowcases." Really???? Room only partly clean. Does not have the feel of a four star hotel.

Location is excellent! Rooms are comfortable, food is good but a bit expensive compared to other restaurants in the area.

the property is old but at my stay the cleaning was not that much and there where no minibar or even a fridge in the room

The restaurant/bar was not open so we had to venture out for a meal or breakfast or a drink.

the location is perfect. it is closed to everything in the city and right next to Porta Nigra

our room is way too hot and we need to open the window during the night but it was not very comfortable to sleep like this during the winter. The hotel was fully booked so we couldn’t change for a different room

We were positively shocked having a Porta Nigra view from our room. Beautiful. The bathroom with bath & all the necessary amenities were very good as well. Check-in & check out time suited our travel as well. All in all, we loved it & we will keep returning!

We would have liked a tea selection in the room other than black tea.
