I booked this hotel as “luxury” which is not. It was supposed to have a view, which if wasn’t. The hotel is called “Ristorante” but it happens that the restaurant is closed. It is not hotel’s fault, but Booking’s, as it is way overrated in its web. I didn’t even stayed at the hotel, and I lost my money as hotel admin said I had to discuss with Booking instead.

Location is great. The room was a great size and bathroom was clean with excellent facilities. The breakfast was standard Italian buffet which was included and great to start the day with.

Noise was a bit of an issue - my room was on the first floor and meant I could hear noise in the restaurant/bar at night and the sound in the corridors echoed with bags and people moving around at night.

We received a very warm welcome on arrival and check-in was quick. All the bedrooms seemed to have sea views and we loved the large under-cover terrace with tables, chairs and sofas and again, beautiful views across the bay to Palmeria Island. The breakfast room had the same wonderful views across the bay and the choice of food was excellent - egg, bacon, fruit, cheeses, croissants, cake, etc. etc. The hotel is in an excellent sea-front location - it's a lovely 5 minute walk, shaded by trees, on the wide path alongside the water to the marina, shops and masses of restaurants. The hotel has a lovely homely, relaxed feel.

We can't think of anything we didn't like about the Albergo Ristorante Paradiso Hotel.

The hotel is located a bit outside of Porto Venere (but still in walking distance!) which is a big advantage as parking is very difficult in Porto Venere. Make sure to reserve parking when booking a room. The breakfast room has a gorgeous view over the sea and the breakfast itself offers everything you need for a good start to the day.

The taxi from La Spezia was expensive and needed to be paid in cash, however, we still appreciated the hotel arranging this for us.

The albergo was full so they put us in the lovely.hotel belvedere next door. There was a beautiful terrace restaurant where we had breakfast
