Great property nice restaurant lovely staff

Awful smell in the room

Had a wonderful stay at Herriots, with a sweet room overlooking the canal and narrowboats…just across the street from the train station. The room was clean, the staff was kind, and the included breakfast excellent. Thank you, Herriots!

Situated within walking distance of centre, room nicely decorated with good quality furnishings, evening meal very nice and breakfast was excellent, staff very friendly and professional.

Great character of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff.

Car parking was a bit of a problem.

Breakfast was amazing such choice and quality food and service, all cooked fresh, fantastic. We had a room facing the canal which was lovely. The room was quite warm but opening the terrace doors and using the fan provided made for a comfortable nights sleep. The hotel is opposite the railway station so a trip into Leeds only 40 minutes, fantastic.

I know it said on the information that if there is a function it could be noisy , we weren't prepared for the level of noise but it finished at 12pm so no problem . Still had a good nights sleep. Just be aware of this if staying in the stable block rooms.

the bedroomroom a bit on the small side for 2 people. bathroom definately to small and cramped. bed comfortable but mattress to soft for us. check out system strange, no option charge things to room. All purchases need to be paid as received.

Friendly helpful staff, food excellent and location perfect opposite the train station and central to the town. Room was excellent stayed in the house next to the hotel.

2 spiders in bedroom and a silverfish in the bathroom The cups provided with tea and coffee facilities were too heavy and awkward. Need to have mugs instead

The location was great. 5 to 10 minute walk along the canal to the centre of Skipton. Comfortable bed. Decent size shower.

The position of the hotel was great, just a short walk into the centre. Our room was immaculate, we were told it had just been refurbished in January. We did not eat dinner in the hotel but the restaurant area was lovely, we did have our breakfast the following morning. There was a good choice of cereal, yogurts and fruit. A varied choice of a cooked breakfast, plenty of different breads and preservatives. A good sized car park which was one of the main reasons we choose this hotel.

Friendly staff, nice clean rooms as was the whole hotel. Good bar with real ale, reasonably priced drinks.

Service in the restaurant was a bit slow 3/4 hour from ordering to getting our meal, I thought they had gone to Grimsby to get my haddock.

Really comfy bed and nice room. Lots of tea and coffee with refills downstairs.

Sadly the hotel restaurant wasn't open and this wasn't communicated before I arrived (otherwise I would've made alternative dinner plans). I was also only told on the day before arrival that I was staying in the house rather than the hotel due to refurbishments, therefore didn't have time to cancel or make other arrangements as I was travelling solo I would've preferred being able to eat at the hotel.
