1. Reception and waitress staff very helpful, friendly and professional. 2. Waitress Jess gave a master class as to how to induct, train, teach hospitality work to a "work experience" youngster - a master class as to how it should be done - I suggest Jess is moved to group training and be considered for "employee of the month" award for the Stone hotel.

1. The central car parking area is full of potholes giving people with walking infirmities ( as is the case with my wife) potential problems as well as potential damage to vehicles. 2. Underwhelming menu in the restaurant & poor value for money. 3. On Tuesday of this week we ate in the hotel's half empty restaurant and had to wait an hour for a simple chicken and vegetable dish - apparently due to the kitchen staff on duty that night having received a preorder for a party of eight guests - and who panicked and lost the plot! The Fox Inn five minutes up the road from the hotel has a good menu, far quicker service and is less then half the price of that charged by the hotel!!! 4. The hotels payment arrangements for evening meals is not explained on arrival at the hotel and is a total nonsense! 5. A wedding reception party near our room (102) was still slamming doors at midnight until a member of staff finally had them quite down! Suggest guests ask that their room is well away from rooms used for corporate and wedding receptions!

Der altenglische Stil der Unterkunft isst grossartig! Man fühlt sich zurückversetzt und hat doch allen Komfort der modernen Zeit. Wunderschöner Garten, ruhige Zimmer mit extrem komfortablen Betten, ein gutes Frühstück und ein wirklich gutes Restaurant für das Abendsessen!

Eigentlich nichts außer, daß ich in der 2. Nacht Pech hatte, da einige Reisende offensichtlich mit 2 Hunden unterwegs waren, deren Gebell mich immer wieder wach gemacht hat.

Very hot in room at night. Had to use the fan despite it being 5 degrees outside. Then fan made it noisy and difficult to sleep. Limited selection hot food at breakfast.
