The pool was nice. Very quiet. The staff tried their best, but the property is clearly run down.

Many things did not work in the room. Safe needed reset, kettle needed replacing, plug sockets broke in my hand, the beds very hard, taps leaked on the bath and shower head fell off (even after being replaced). The Wifi was terrible. No facilities open, eg no bar, no restaurants and spa was closed.

Everything. This is the worse hotel ever I have booked via booking.com. It is just hopeless hotel. Right from receptionist to every other staffs you come across during your stay at this hotel. Basically it is a white elephant that waiting to shut down. I was given WIFI login ID during checkin. However I could not login from my room. Called the receptionist and he happily informed me that it will difficult to connect while in the room. He informed me that I can only use WIFI in the hotel lobby. As I had to check my work related emails, came to the lobby but still could not login even though the signal was strong. Finally end up using my international roaming to connect to internet. But it was not long before i swamped by mosquitoes forcing me to abandon and went back to the room. The lighting in the room was very poor and I had difficulty to work on my laptop. The next day morning I called the receptionist asking for iron and iron board to be send to the room. She kept on repeating that she don't understand what I am asking for. She put me on hold for a quite number of times and each time came back with the same response she could not understand what I am asking for. Finally I told her to get the house keeping. Somehow she understand the word housekeeping and she said yes. After sometimes someone came knowing the room door. It was the housekeeping lady who don't speak English. I had hard time explaining to her and finally she brought me a iron without iron board. When I asked her for iron board, she shook her head to inform that iron board is not available. I pointed to the floor and showed hand single referring to "shall i use the floor to iron the shirt" of which she nodded her head in agreement. The breakfast was hopeless. Nothing was refilled once it is finished. By 08.00am almost everything in the buffet finished. I cancelled my one night stay at this hotel and move to another hotel as I could not tolerate staying there anymore.

Most of the staff speaks English which makes the communication very difficult.

The receptionist are very kind, they are very friendly and warmly well coming with cold well come drink. The breakfast is very good with helpful service. The swimming pool and poolside bar made me very relaxed. The location is very convenience , It was 5 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from the city, Pup Street. While I was staying at Royal Empire Hotel, I felt like I stay at my home!
