Not clean and looks like a care home dirty carpets and the bet curtain was dirty and didn’t fit the window

Location was good and we did have a nice sea view.
On entering the hotel it immediately smelt of a damp, musty smell.
Lift was very old and very small.
Our room although large and a nice view it was very dated, bed was uncomfortable, quite a lot of mould in the bathroom, stains on carpet, furniture old and well used, curtains were very old and looked sad. Lots of cob webs too.
The bathroom had cleaning product left on the panel, mould in the grout, sink and bath taps were grubby, broken tile.

Staff were friendly and efficient. The room was really big. Breakfast was good. Location was great.
Really creaky floor boards. Only one bedside lamp. Not enough electric points so difficult to do hair. Lack of parking.

Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful and the ladies running the breakfast were good. Colder breakfast parts were nice (hot wasn’t amazing). Rooms were nice and clean (cleaned every day). Location was ideal to get into town and the beach easily. There are nice patches of lawn outside the hotel which you can lounge on
We felt that the photos online really didn’t reflect the property when we turned up. It is a LOT more dated than the photos with ugly carpets and out of date TVs. We did enjoy our stay but the main point is we really feel like the price we paid matched the photos, but not what we actually experienced. We also note that we got tiny little rooms (noticed when looking at the fire escape map), which we understand someone has to have, but we booked 3 in total so surprised 2 of them were the small ones. Finally, the rooms we had at the back were quite noisy some mornings as it backed onto a church and our room specifically seemed to be under the stairs so you could hear people creaking up and down at all times. This is still a lovely place to stay, just maybe not at the price

It was so easy to walk into the town from the hotel. We didn't need to use the car for the three days we stayed at the Royal Beacon Hotel.
There wasn't a single thing we didn't like. Really a lovely place to stay.

The breakfast was nice and a good verity.
The room was very clean and we had a good view of the sea.
The bed was very hard and a bit uncomfortable, the bath didn't have a plug so couldn't use the bath and when asked at reception they wasn't very helpful.

The guys on the reception were very pleasant 👌
The fact that the window didn't open at all ,the shower only had boiling water and asked to use the iron and ironing board and it was actually disgusting. The whole area smelt of damp and tbf could do with a revamp .

Reasonable value for the price and 1 night.
The central heating was not on,cold in the room.
Shower was scolding even when temperature turned right down.
The stair carpet in the annex was very dirty..

its character it’s position. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. The public areas in the main building were comfortable clean and well decorated. The staff accommodated our little dog in the bar area at breakfast time it was a comfortable and private. The breakfast was good and they accommodated our vegetarianism.
The plumbing. In the annex the shower was scalding or nothing. I have never stayed in a smaller room it was hard to move around in it. The corridors and stairs were dirty.
We were moved to lovely room in the main building for the second night because of the scalding shower but the radiator would not turn off manually and did not go off until about 4 in the morning and so it was too hot to sleep well even with the window open .

The staff were very helpful and very cheerful, the breakfast options were what you would expect from a hotel of this standard, the location was to die for the sea view rooms were excellent .
Very very disappointed we had to go out for a lunch or a dinner we felt that this is where the company let the staff down with them being on the front line and having to answer customers queries. It would not take a lot just to put a variety of sandwiches in the bar to sell for lunch to take the edge off the hunger. We were just a party of four who ate out for the three nights of our stay and spent near on £500 for evening meals alone. We would not stop there again unless the catering was sorted out 🙁

lovely room nice and warm once I complained that the heating wouldn’t work
often no milk left to make a drink it wasn’t until the 3rd week that biscuits were left as well.

Breakfast was excellent. The staff were very helpful even providing an extra duvet when we asked and also, soya milk when requested, without any fuss. There was a lovely big bath in the en suite bathroom.. It was an easy walk to the beach and also to the town centre. All in all a great place to stay.
Nothing really we were more than satisfied. The only thing was coming back from the town it was all up hill but that can't be helped.a
