Amazing location and facilities

For those needing assured cellphone reception - this would be a challenge. But this due to the location in the valley. There is WiFi on site.

The location was nice.

Unaccommodating & rude management. Poor communication with messages intentionally ignored prior to arrival which cost us an additional 2-hours of travel to accommodate our pets somewhere else. Expensive Restaurant with prices aimed at tourists, Tent was not properly cleaned with spiders and webs everywhere. The pictures on the listing on Booking.com is not accurate for each unit and contains pictures of multiple units which causes confusion on what unit you are actually booking. Breakfast buffet was okay, but it was weird to find that someone is put in place to guard the bacon/sausage section, so that you don't get more that 1-piece at a time. Just an overall poor, unwelcoming experience which we will not repeat.

There is a lot to do here so would recommend more than one night as there is a lot to do for children, very nice property and well presented

The children loved seeing all the animals and walking round the grounds, very picturesque place

The location was great, very quiet apart from other guest leaving early in the morning by slamming doors. Perhaps add add noise control on the door frame

The restaurant. The meal was probably the worst meal we’ve had on our month around South Africa. Terrible!!! The ostrich fillet which wasn’t from this ostrich farm, was smashed to a pulp and served so thin it broke up like a thin burger.

Die Lodge hat alle unsere Erwartungen erfüllt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, die beiden gebuchten Zimmer top, das Frühstück ausgezeichnet und die Lage an einem Bach sehr sehr schön.

We loved the facilities, the location and the landscape. We enjoyed the pools and the animals.

The wifi is a problem

Over priced, advertised as a holiday destination but really just an overnight stop. Restaurant is over priced for the quality. No fish in the dam, room was full of bugs and bedding was not clean. Rooms advertised bigger than whatbit is.

Prices in convenience store and restaurant are high. Come prepared as you'll pay R100 for firelighters that costs R30 in a supermarket. Restaurant- starters mostly more than R100, kiddies meals around R85-R95, Steaks R220 +.... Much better value, more options and more creative food in town. To top it the pumpkin fritter was raw - I did point this out to the waiter.

Absolutely stunning. What an experience. The interior of the tent is amazing and having a bath overlooking the mountains is priceless. We cannot wait to return.

There was nothing not to like. Amazing stay with wonderful staff like George, Damon & Mitchell.

The property is nestled in the most beautiful and picturesque surroundings!!! Nature at its finest!! All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful!! The food was superb!! The grounds are beautifully maintained and there was loads for kids to keep busy with or explore. Definitely somewhere we would love to go back to!!

Plumbing: Toilet DID NOT flush as water leaks and no pressure, Basin is in the main room itself, (used for dishes and bathroom) Both the above made it uncomfortable, when needing your own room facility.

Clean, comfortable and had everything we needed in the room. Loved the chocolate labrador who clearly lives on the premises and befriended us.

Very disappointed in the restaurant. Very expensive and food was not on par with what we expected. Lodge is far from Oudtshoorn central so we were left having to buy takeaways after exhausting days at my son's gala. Pools were pea soup green. Staff not very friendly or engaging so we did not know if this was the "norm" or if there was a problem, so gave them a skip altogether, much to the disappointment of our kids.

Breakfast was very good. The place is pleaseant. Nice view. Good food at the restaurant. The family room was great.

The suite room smelled like burning wood and the mattress was very soft and uncomfortable.

Loved the sound of the river at night, a beautiful cabin with a bed made for the 2 small kids! Loved the air con! Kids loved the animals on the grounds!

First time in a "glamping " tent by the river. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank goodness for the aircons in the tent. Sat on our balcony and watched the ostriches doing their "ballet". Funny creatures to watch! They have REINDEER here, which apparently thrive up in the hills, and come down to feed.

Restaurant quite expensive, and not a great deal of options. Quite far out of town to find other places to eat.
