Great hospitality by the owner makes you feel welcome like his own home things are reasonably priced unlike others. He is also helpful with transportation and organising any trips to the valley of kings and queens

The owner had called me prior to the trip to answer some questions for me and that was a delightful surprise. He was able to set up a driver from the airport as well as a local tour guide. The rooms were simple but clean. Everything worked well with strong wifi, good aircon, and plenty of hot water. The owner had to leave for a personal trip when we arrived and I am sorry we did not get to know him better. The highlight of the stay was the food. By far the best food I had in my entire trip in Egypt. There was no menu but the staff recommended several dishes and asked what type of meats we wanted. My suggestion is to let them create what they want, as it was all wonderful. when coming in from a hot day of sightseeing , the staff would offer cool drinks. Staff set up a sunset sail boat on the Nile and got us over to Karnack for the Sounds and Light show.

The guide running the tour cut things short daily when we didnt want to do the super touristy money traps, but he is not a employee of the hotel, although he was recommended. He was super pissy when we wanted to stop for lunch and not go to Banana Island. After sightseeing, not a lot to do in the area.

We had a great time in New Memnon Hotel. The staff was really nice and at our disposal for everything. The rooms was clean and the hotel well situated. Activities and transports were at a good price.

I really can't say enough good things about this place, the owner, and all of the staff. We had a stressful time in Cairo and arrived in Luxor quite weary, but the people at New Memnon made us feel truly at home and relaxed. They arranged trustworthy drivers to take us to the sites we wanted to visit (and even drove us themselves on occasion), which made everything go so much more smoothly and removed all of the stress. They upgraded our room at no charge since a nicer one was available, so we stayed in a suite with a full kitchen and private rooftop. Everyone we spoke with was extremely kind and helpful. The location of the hotel was perfect for us since we wanted something quiet and peaceful, away from the city. It's also very close to the archaeological sites we came to visit, which cut down on travel time. The rooftops have an absolutely gorgeous view of the surrounding farmland and western mountains - we watched the sun set over the Theban necropolis every night. The room also stayed nice and cool even when it was very hot outside, but the rooftops weren't bad either with the breeze and shade. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel every day of our stay and I have never had so much delicious, healthy food in my life. The portions were extremely generous - I felt bad because I usually eat light and could never finish it all! They grow the ingredients at the hotel and when we expressed an interest, the owner showed us around the gardens and gave us some fresh fruit to take back to our room. They were very accommodating of my vegetarianism and also told us that they serve vegans and people with other dietary restrictions as well. In short, New Memnon is truly exceptional and I'll be recommending them to everyone I know who wants to visit Egypt. I am a graduate student in Egyptology and will almost certainly go back to Luxor at some point, and when I do I know exactly where I'll be staying!

The only thing that I think could have been improved was that the wi-fi did not reach our upgraded room (which was located on top of the restaurant building and away from most of the other rooms), but we felt this was a fair trade for having such a nice room with an incredible view, and we could also go out onto the adjacent rooftop or to the lounge downstairs when we needed a connection.

Owner Sayed really went above and beyond to ensure a perfect stay: helping with itinerary of sights, arranging rental bike, offering late checkout for free and letting friends who were joining to leave thier bags in the room. Super-friendly atmosphere and excellent breakfast.

We had an extraordinary stay at New Memnon. Staff is extremely friendly and assists in all kinds of planning and logistics. Just ask and they can organize you tours, if you want. The food is wonderful at affordable pricing.

Staying at the New Memnon far exceeded our expectations. The owner Mr. Sayed is incredibly hospitable and made sure that our stay in Luxor was a truly enjoyable and memorable one. During our 3-day stay in Luxor, we booked several sightseeing trips through him, including a hot air balloon ride (highly recommended). Everything went very smoothly and exactly as planned and at very reasonable prices, which unfortunately had not been our experience in Egypt until we got to New Memnon. Mr. Sayed only works with very reliable guides and drivers, which makes the entire sightseeing experience so much better. Save yourself aggravation and money and let Mr. Sayed take care of booking your sightseeing tours in Luxor. Our room was clean and comfortable, very quiet at night. Staff members were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a very nice spread, don't miss it :) During our stay we ended up having dinner at the hotel restaurant every night -- tasty, fresh food. Our flight back was early morning and Mr. Sayed made sure we left with a take-away breakfast. All in all, staying at the New Memnon and the thoughtfulness and hospitality of Mr. Sayed made our time in Luxor truly memorable.

One of the best value for money hotels I've ever stayed in. Egypt isn't a careless destination in terms of accessibility, cleanliness and comfort, but in the New Memnon hotel we were in the most friendly atmosphere, experiencing all the best features of the country and protected from it's less pleasant characteristics. Virtually everything was enjoyable - the rooms, the views, the food, the garden, the location, the stuff. Special thanks the hotel owner, Mr. Said, who made our stay there just magical.

Perfect location to all the numerous sites on the West Bank. The host was excellent in giving us all the tips to travelling without crowds and organised all our taxis and boat trips across the Nile to the South bank. Made everything so easy for us.

Absolutely amazing. The Owner and staff provided us with the best hospitality we have ever experienced. The Owner really cares about his guests and makes sure that they are always enjoying their time. The rooms were super clean, the garden view was amazing and the rooftop was exceptional. The food prepared by the hotel chef was delicious and fresh. They also provided us with an amazing highly educated tour guide to show us around Luxor. I highly recommend the New Mennonite Hotel if your visiting Luxor.

New Memnon Hotel is a delightful little oasis among the almost desert landscape on the West Bank of the Nile. It is pure luxury while feeling homely at the same time. It is run by Mr. Sayed or Sayed Uncle as we called him and his wonderful family who are usually at the property. I can keep writing about them and it would not do justice to how amazing this place is. The views are gorgeous - during hot air-balloon season, you can see the balloons from the garden landing around, your balcony or from the restaurant. You can see the lit-up Necropolis in the evenings/nights, stunning sunsets every evening or take a walk to the Valley of Queens, Valley of workers, Tombs of Roy and Shuroy during the day and Colossi of Memnon in the evening - which is a stone's throw away. Now coming to the staff - every single person on the property treats you like family. Sayed Uncle and his family are amazing hosts, they will pamper you, shower you with love and make sure you have the absolute best memories here. They have an amazing garden for your breakfasts or evening tea, linens that smell warm and divine, a cat called Silk who is a cutie and loves her cuddles, a million cute sparrows chirping, a woodpecker visiting every day and a beautiful garden that is abundant with basil, arugula, broccoli, oranges, lemons and so much more - all of which Sayed Uncle, his son or his wife would be very happy to show you. We reached really late at night and were welcomed by Sayed Uncle waiting for us by a bonfire asking, "Are you hungry? I've got dinner waiting for you" - believe me, you have not really experienced the love of Luxor and all this beautiful city has to offer unless you have spent time at the New Memnon Hotel. They will also help you plan your itinerary - whether it's a car you need, a felucca, a ferry ride, hot-air-balloon, to buy a cartouche or simply walk around town.

There's nothing to not like. There's no part of this hotel you will not fall in love with.

The staff was amazing, so so friendly. They do anything to feel you at home. We had some great advices of mister Sayed: for example to rent a bike and go very early (5:30 in the morning) to Kings Valley: it was perfect. No tourists around and see the airballoons rising when you bike next to it. The food is amazing, everything fresh. We stayed for 6 nights: that was long, but for us it was very good to chill and relax after busy Caïro.
