Very good location for relaxing. Nearby there is beautiful forest and a temple which is perfect for meditation. Room was very clean. I loved the shower which gave me the feeling of taking the bath in a waterfall! Food in the restaurant were so delicious. Staff were very nice

Stayed here for a week, loved everything about it. The family who run it are so lovely, and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The two pools and the grounds are beautiful, the rooms are really nice. Breakfast is great, and the meals served at other times in the restaurant are also pretty good.

Only downside is the traffic getting into the centre of Ubud is often pretty bad, but the free shuttle car from the hotel 4 times per day is convenient and it was worth it for us to be in the beautiful surroundings at Ubad Retreat at the end of each day rather than in the centre of Ubud which can be a bit overwhelming.

The place is very beautiful and cozy. I really enjoyed the terrace of our room! Stuff was very friendly and helped with everything we needed. Would stay again :) Felt like home

Lack of light in the room/shower.

This place really grew on me. Peaceful, quiet, clean and a bit outside of busy Ubud, but you can still walk to lovely restaurants like Sage and Mother if you like, through local villages, or get a Go or Grab (the local taxis are much more), or their free shuttle. They also gave us a free room upgrade as we had our 3 yo daughter with us and brought her a birthday cake on her birthday! :)

There are some interesting rules of Indonesia in the book when you arrive, but they are well intended!

This is second review as we stayed there longer and have had time to reflect. This is an excellent exceptionally good value modest comfortable hotel with good facilities including a lovely pool in serene surroundings. Whilst it is located about 5km on the west side of Ubud, there is a free shuttle several times a day (9,12, 3 & 6). It is an ideal place from which to spend day trips out. As throughout Bali, staff were very friendly and helpful. Good sized room with quiet aircon, ensuite with bath and shower.

This is my second time staying at Ubad Retreat, and it was such a special stay! I mentioned it was my birthday and they put on a cake for me! They did up the bed really special with swan towels! All of these little touches made it a really special visit, and I'll definitely be staying again if we are in Ubud. The service at this hotel is amazing. The staff are incredible and it's such a cute little place.

Maybe the pool is clean, just maybe

The room old, noisy, the hotel still under maintenance. The location is far away from Ubud center, we cannot use Grab or Gojek there, and the local taxi charged us double price. Some of the staff cannot understand English well, so be prepared that they mess up your order. The flies can get inside ur food quickly.

It was a bit out of Ubud but on the other hand this meant nice grounds. Did have a shuttle to city several times a day.

The hotel is very nice, great beds and nice staff. Just be careful if you are given the first room above the highway, the roads are always busy and there is just so much noise it is not possible to rest. Also keep your receipt if you paid in advance, they don't communicate so well between them and they wanted to charge me twice (not on purpose, but still is not nice)

Ubad Retreat is such a special place, it's beautiful and tranquil, the Balinese breakfasts are delicious, but most importantly, the people (Gus and his team, like Sri) are incredibly caring and generous with every guest.

Beautiful hotel in Ubud with lovely staff and great facilities. I chose to do the local experience with Gus and had a fantastic time with him exploring the village, rice fields, rivers, temples and also having dinner at the night market.

Sometimes I read reviews and I can tell that it's one of their first moments in Bali, hence I review this after being in Bali for 1,5 months and having seen many different accommodations. Staff was wonderful, breakfast was delicious. The room was very nice and I really enjoyed the pool. The area is quiet and beautiful. You could hear the people from the next door pretty good when in the upstairs apartment, but I've had that at in quite a few accommodations in Bali already and it didn't really bother me since they were also quiet around 11 in the evening. The free shuttle is also very convenient so you can have the peace and quiet but also easily commute to the city. :)
