Extremely welcoming host. Always helpful and available for anything you would like. He even offered to take us to restaurant and pick up us since it was raining a lot. Distance walking to interest places. Spacious room, hot water, AC and comfortable bed. Good breakfast, some days Roti and others Toast. Perfect value for money. We did Hurulu Eco park safari arranged by him for total 20000lkr 2 people. Far cheaper than booking it through other people, and with knowledgeable guide. However, we were a bit unlucky because it was very sunny and hot in the morning and almost all elephants were hidding. I recommend to do it in the afternoon because usually it is a bit more cloudy and rainy and that is when elephants like to go out and drink, specially in tourist season December-February. The whole family living there are all really kind and the host is a hard worker. The surroundings are very beautiful. And of course you might see little insects in the room but is not a problem, the rooms are clean and is what you expect in the middle of the jungle.

Puede sonar a tópico, pero la familia que lo gestiona, te hace sentir genial. Las habitaciones son amplias, con baño privado e internet. Si puedes, te recomendaría que probases su arroz con curries en alguna de las cenas, ya que está delicioso. Además si es necesario, te llevarán y traerán desde la parada del cruce a donde llegan y desde donde salen los buses Es la segunda vez que lo visito, llevando a pequeños grupos, y todos mis viajeros quedan encantados. Repetiré seguro.

A algunas personas les puede resultar un poco alejado del "centro" de Sigiriya, pero es que en 15 minutos andando llegas a él, ganando tranquilidad.

- the host was very friendly and responsive. He was super helpful in arranging the transport around the city and afterwards to go to Kandy. - the room was big and clean with all the essential facilities. - the location is awesome and is close to the Lion rock. - the breakfast was delicious.

Had such a lovely stay here. The family is so welcoming and kind, the dinners are absolutely delicious and they are happy to help with organising any activities/trips. There’s a small river you can relax by with hammocks and it is only a short walk into town - although everything you need is already at the home stay!

By far the best hosts. Such a great family, showing you the best things to do around the city. The food is amazing. Would come back anytime!

By far the best place we have been in more than 3 months backpacking! The hosts are so kind, very helpful, and always there to help and guide you. We highly recommend this place.

The host was kind, fun and helpful. He made sure I had everything I needed and helped with organizing other parts of my trip. The breakfast and dinner was delicious and most of the ingredients they use for cooking come directly from their own garden. I particularly enjoyed the cooking class!

I spotted one or two small stains in my room, but now I'm really just nitpicking.

Super friendly people that go the extra mile to make you feel at home and have a great experience in Sigiriya. The breakfast and especially dinner are very tasty, the room very clean and spacious and good wifi. When you want to rent a scooter or take a tuk tuk, the owner arranges this very quickly for us at a fair price. Definitely recommend!

Natural environment, sleeping next to a mangotree. Lovely owner and family. In the garden there was a little stream / river, there were fish nibling on our toes, realy nice!

Asiri and Hansi were so welcoming and accommodating. The food was amazing, bith breakfast and dinner. I ended up eating there every evening. The room was so spacious and great value for money. I felt sick and they gave me a tonic which helped me. I also extended my stay. Will be back again 😊

I stayed with my family there for one night, in two rooms for 2 male and 4 female. We had a warm welcome, and the owner/family was very friendly. Parking space also fine and safe. It's close to Sigiriya so location is also good. Specially, the breakfast was so delicious. I would say it's really worth the price.

No wi-fi at rooms.

The property is close enough to good restaurants but still far enough away to be secluded and relaxing away from the noice. Indika is a great host and goes out of his way to help you with everything you would need in Sigiriya. We ate at the home stay twice as the food is amazing and very reasonably priced. the river behind the property is a great way to spend a relaxing evening whilst the tiny fish eat at your dead skin with this free fish massage.

The wi-fi could be improved as it struggles at times

What a lovely place! Beautiful rural surroundings. Such amazing hosts, so friendly and helpful. We stayed one night and indica offered to drive us to Sigarya rock and back and arranged for our tuk tuk to Dambulla. Breakfast was delicious. Room was comfy and slept well. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a homestay in Sigiriya!!

Indika and his family are lovely and very welcoming and professional. The homestay is peaceful and in nature as well as ideally located, near the main tourist attraction and walking distance from restaurants. I can only highly recommend River View homestay.

Excellent place, nice house with lovely garden. There is a river you can swim in at the back of the house, which was very nice. The host was amazing, he picked us up from the train station in Habarana, took us to Dambula caves, fruit market and early morning to the Pindurangala rock for sunrise - all for a very good price. He also organised elephant safari and we saw many elephants! The breakfast was great and they also cooked us delicious rice and curries for dinner with fresh produce from their garden. Highly recommended! Thank you Indica & family for everything!

We had a great stay here! The highlight was the host, who was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. He greeted us with fruit smoothies after our travel day which was much appreciated. The room was basic, clean, and comfortable. WiFi worked! There was a mosquito net over the bed too. Location is great - we enjoyed our walks into town to restaurants from this place. The river behind the homestay has hammocks to read in by the water. Such a nice family, would highly recommend staying here. We enjoyed sitting around chatting with them. Everyone we have met in Sri Lanka has been very nice but we particularly enjoyed talking to this family.

One of the most enjoyable homesays I've stayed at in Sri Lanka. The rooms are spacious and clean and they have really good hot water which I was so happy about! The owners are so kind and friendly. They can arrange to take you to places you want to visit with very good prices, much cheaper than outside. The breakfast is so fresh and delicious and their fruit plates are amazing. I've also heard that they cook amazing rice and curry but I didn't have enough time to try. There's so much nature around, I've seen peacokcs around the garden in the morning. Next to the rooms there is a river where you can sit on a hammock and enjoy the breeze and the sound of nature. A great experience overall!

Super close to Lion’s Rock but a very quiet and homely feel and amazing traditional Sri Lankan food! The family are so amazing and generous and even helped us get transport for the next part of our trip and checked up on us along the way! Definitely the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka!

We made a few friends with frogs and lizards in our bathroom, but you are in the jungle so it’s expected! :)

Such a perfect place to stay in Sigiriya. The family was so lovely, the rooms were spacious and incredibly clean, and you wake in nature up to the sounds of birds chirping. The breakfast and dinner were also incredible!! It is a short walk to the main road in town but there are plenty of tasty restaurants nearby. Please stay here - you’ll thank yourself later!
