UNLOADING AND LOADING IS A REAL CHORE VERY INCONVENIENT ACCESS TO PROPERTY. PARKING AREA IS A LONG WAY FROM THE CABIN. I LEFT AFTER 2 NIGHTS, EVEN THOUGH I RENTED FOR A WEEK.

The beds are feather bedding, with no way to be pushed together. However, it has very kind owners, amazing art, the perfect location in town, georgeous view of the lake, multiple places to relax in nature around the cabin, and gives you a good taste of Old Forge.

The cabin (more like a cottage) was great. It was much more than we expected. We were in walking distance of almost everything in Old Forge yet felt like we were out in the woods. The property and cabin are very well kept. The porch that facing the river is screened with a nice ADK style breakfast nook. We were able to keep our kayaks right at the dock and take a paddle in the river any time of the day. Very relaxing spot. The host was very nice and communicated everything very well. We plan to stay again.

Exactly what the doctor ordered with the perfect location on the Moose River for kayaking from a private dock and easy access close to the cabin. Just close enough to walk to and from downtown Old Forge, kayak to Thendara, and enjoy the coffee and walk through the Old Forge Hardware. The grocery store in town is within walking distance as well. The Sci Sci Cabin was organized and cozy, especially when it snowed our first morning there. Claire was very helpful with the information prior to our arrival. We also were in awe about Claire's artistic work throughout the cabin. We had a blast in Old Forge for our 5-year anniversary weekend and looking forward to our next adventure at the Sci Sci Cabin. -Brian and Holly-

Third stay for me at this peaceful little cabin on the Moose river. I just love the area and this past weekend was beautiful weather. Trees are just turning a bit. Lots going on in the village with Fire school show. Fun stay at Sci Sci cabin.

This place made me smile as soon as I walked in. The attention to detail was top notch. Loved sitting on the back porch enjoying the river view. A very peaceful retreat that we would love to experience again.

Exactly what we hoped for. Very quaint cabin. Very quiet surroundings. Peaceful. Moose river right there. We kayaked. Hiked Bald Mtn. Bicycled on a bike trail in town. We got to meet the hosts as they were in town. Very nice and gracious people. Definitely recommend for a couple looking for peace and quiet.

Exactly as described. Perfect for couple looking for quiet retreat. Was able to launch Kayaks from private dock - spent hours up and down the Moose River, absolutely beautiful. Wife and I walked to a perfect little breakfast spot few blocks away. Perfect location! Owners were great! Super helpful, friendly! Great people. Highly recommended!! Plan to return for sure!

The cottage was cozy and decorated nicely... The bathroom could use an exhaust fan. Access to the Moose River and downtown was nearly perfect. I paddled my solo canoe on the Moose and rode my bike around town every day of our stay. We especially enjoyed our evenings down by the water...

The Sci Sci Cabin was the perfect relaxing vacation!! What a great location, right on the Moose River. We could keep our canoe right next to the cabin and launch it right off the dock. The cabin is within walking distance to Old Forge stores, mini golf @ Nutty Putty and of course ice cream places. If you like to bike, the TOBIE Trail is very close by to pick up. Hiking is close too; Rocky, Black Bear and Bald Mountains all a short drive away. The cabin was so peaceful and quiet. My husband and I enjoyed every minute there and hope to return. The place is meticulously clean and very well stocked with anything you might need. There is Wi-Fi and cable tv also at the cabin. Claire and her husband were so welcoming to us when we arrived and were on-site the first weekend and available if we had any questions or problems. They are delightful hosts who really take pride not only in their rental properties but also they care about their renters.

I've always believed that it is people who make a house a home. And that was exactly the experience I had while staying at Sci Sci Chalet. The host (Claire) is charming, caring and quite conscientious about what amenities in a cottage make it an enjoyable getaway for guests and their family The home is cozy & comfy. The layout of furniture and decor is well designed, organized and clean. Plenty of cutlery, dishes, sitting and more. I enjoyed the quiet evenings and beautiful backyard of Moose River. I couldn't have asked for a better location... which is in the heart of town. No driving needed. Thank you Claire and best to you and your family☆

Excellent cabin to rent. , beautiful , Claire is a caring & accommodating host. Cabin is clean, comfortable, perfect for 2-3 people…everything u could possibly need is there, cooking was a breeze. Good property - very close to restaurants and strip. Bald mountain was an 8 minute drive. Host was friendly. Cute cottage. Bathroom is small but it’s a cozy cottage for 2 people. River view!

We had a wonderful time at SciSci cabin and Claire and Tom were wonderful hosts! Easy to get in touch with them throughout our stay and they also made sure we had instructions ahead of time on how to access the cabin. It was very clean and i loved working in the screened in porch overlooking the river. Tom even chopped extra firewood for us to ensure we had enough for multiple fires in the firepit. Everything was very clean and cozy and we would return! Claire’s amazing artwork also decorated the cabin. My boyfriend and I highly recommend this place and walking distance to everywhere! Perfect location, wonderful dock and firepit. Well equipped kitchen, cozy livingroom with awesome gas potbelly stove that heats the whole cottage.

I just love your little SciSci cottage on the Moose River. It’s my new favorite. It’s nicely priced, has everything you need, I love the decorative touch in the main room, the skylight and the peak window as it adds so much light in. We just love the interaction with the tame deer that visit periodically. We enjoyed a fire and sitting at the rivers edge. We even got to enjoy the poring rain on your back screened porch, while listening to our SXM . At night it was a treat listening to the rain on the roof. I will definitely be visiting again. Our whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay there.

The cabin was quaint and very well decorated. The site was a Moose River view. Very quiet and serine. Clean, well appointed. It is down a steep hill, so getting things in is your biggest struggle, but we brought a folding wagon so it helped to know beforehand. Loved the gas fireplace in the camp and porch facing the River. Pleasant and helpful hosts, quick response and overall very happy with our stay. Will be back. Thank you Sci Sci Cottage for the welcoming splendor. We enjoyed our stay Julie and Julie

We found the cabin quaint, private & picturesque. The closeness to town was a plus. All in all very pleased with the cabin. Bedroom area a bit stuffy; recommend an AC unit in the middle window. Also, a picnic table would be nice. Enjoyed the deer in the yard.

Very well kept cabin in Old Forge. Within walking distance of downtown shops and dining. Moose River right behind cabin. Keep in mind there is a shared dock that we were unable to use as other renters on the property kept their kayaks on the dock and in the walkway the entire week. Such a shame. We were really looking forward to going in the river or just being near it. The cabin has a nice screened in porch overlooking the water which was very enjoyable.

We spent a relaxing week in a clean, well taken care of, well stocked cabin. We were able to rest and relax as well as walk and enjoy the river. Would return.

Absolutely loved the screened in porch overlooking the river. Lovely arrangement of the place with beautiful artwork by owner. Beds were comfortable (bringing our own linens and towels was a drawback). Kitchen clean and adequate for one cook (bring your own seasonings), but we enjoyed walking to the local restaurants when they were open. Sitting area comfortable and clean. The woodwork in the bathroom, porch, and corners behind the beds could use a good "going over" with Murphy Oil Soap, but my spouse said I am too OCD and reminded me that it is a cabin. Relax.....and that is what I did all week.

The Rental Was A Great Experience And The Cabin Was Cozy And Well Appointed! Easy Access To The Moose River For Canoeing/Kayaking And Not Far To Bicycle On The TOBIE Bike Trail!

This cozy cabin was in the best location. We were a short walk from the shops and restaurants in town but the best part was being right on the Moose River. It was so easy to launch our kayaks and go for a paddle anytime or just relax at the water's edge and take in the sights. The cabin, although small, didn't lack any necessities, was comfortable, and was full of Adirondack charm and personal touches. Especially the beautiful artwork painted by the property owner! We usually visit Old Forge in a larger group but for only two this time, this was just what we needed for our trip.

We had a fantastic weekend staying at the cabin. It was quiet cozy and sooo relaxing. We will be back for sure!
