Sense of hospitality, breathtaking view, delicious breakfast (great coffee and home-made cakes), ambiance, beautiful garden, surroundings. There are many amazing places to discover nearby like Carrara, Sarzana etc. The rooms are spotless, equiped with everything you might need, including moscito nets. It was a pleasant suprise to feel cool inside the building even during the hottest hours of the day during the heatwave.
The place is quite unique and worth a detour. Don't be put off by the comments regading the road to the parking, it is perfectly feasible in Toyota Yaris.
A special thank to Don Augustino for making your stay unforgettable.

The view and solitude ... absolutely stunning! The big blue Mediterranean sea to one side, the Carrara marble quarries to the other. This is an old convent, still operated by the church as a guest facility. Very nice without "electronic" distractions. Great breakfast. Price for our group for a one night stay was great.
Location: To reach the place is a challenge. Windy, narrow roads. Small cars ok, but if you have a large 9-seater van, you can almost forget it. The driveway is narrow, with hardly any turn around possibilities, only inches to spare with a big car. Cobblestone roads make your tires spin even when dry. It will take some driving skills to make it up to a very spacious parking lot, though.
Notice that the staff when we arrived, a priest, spoke ONLY Italian. NO English, NO German. Luckily one of our fellow travelers spoke Spanish, so communication was at least rudimentarily possible. Otherwise this would have gotten interesting.

amazing place high up in the hills to get away from it all. breakfast was good.

Very nice and quiet place. Very friendly staff and quite nice breakfast.
Not a problem, but you have to go up the unpaved steep road in the mountains. Our motorcycle managed well, but fo a lower car, it might be a problem

The room was simple but the view is worth it! Don't miss this amazing gem up in the mountains, you will not regret it! Very nice people, very kind and helpfull. Also, the bed was amazingly confortable. Grazie mille per tutto! Anche per il breakfast to go, we loved it!

Augustino is a saint, although he says he isn’t.😀Such a serving heart! He fixed us a plentiful breakfast in a structure 1500 years old. Our room was larger than we expected, with a newly remodeled bathroom, and a little balcony offering panoramic views of the entire valley and the Ligurian Sea. We had a picnic on the terrace, so tranquil! Had the entire place practically to ourselves, no other guests that night. Felt very safe, for the old convent is practically a wing of the church up on the hill.
To drive all the way up to the church parking you need to take a very sharp turn right at the feet of the church property, which we weren’t prepared for in our medium sized car. Smaller cars and careful maneuvering will see you through.

We were impressed by the beautiful view equalled by the warm welcome and generous ans tasty breakfast in the morning. Great place to park your car on the premises. We would love to come back! Close to Carrara where we visited the famous marble quarry - beautiful scenic route right from the Vecchio convento !

Perfetto!
It's just a fairy tale. The rooms are located in an annex to an old church. Probably it is the most amazing place you can stay in Italy. Very authentic and comfortable.
Wonderful view from the balcony of the sea and neighboring towns.
Lovely English speaking staff and a very tasty breakfast with a good selection. Great place, I recommend it to everyone!
The location on the map is incorrect. Your landmark is a tall white church perched on top of a hill.

Absolutely amazing experience. What a place! 😍 We fell in love! Will definitely come back again.
Some practical information:
- there is a fridge for common use if you would like to have a snack during your stay (there is no shop or restaurant near)
- Breakfast is modest and mainly sweet
-There is no wifi in rooms. There is only 1 spot where you can use it.
Enjoy your experience!

This ex convent is in a village perched on top of a steep hill with wonderful views. If you walk through the village and continue on the road to Carrera you will find a big restaurant in the middle of nowhere. The food is great and reasonably priced. It's about a kilometre but you could drive you prefer. They still have services in the guest house and you go through a tunnel to get to the breakfast room. Breakfast is good and nicely served.
If you have a long wheel based car probably not a good idea to attempt the drive up to the convent. I had a well laden Jaguar Estate and managed to ground it. There is a car park in the village if you don't fancy taking the risk

The location is breathtakingly beautiful, very special and quiet. The host is fantastic, he tells like a real entertainer about the history of the monastery (in Italian). Very good food, very good value for money.
The last slope is a bit hard to take with a large car, but it's doable and well worth the effort.

Amazing view from the hill
Terrible, narrow and stressful road to the property. I was asked to move my car somewhere because of local party. Typical sweet, continental breakfast. Lack of everything when all people came for breakfast early morning, starting from coffee, milk and bread.

Spacious and clean room, delicious breakfast and dinner. Great view of the sea and mountains
