Everything. Secluded. Quiet ,out of the way. Friendly hosts. PERFECT for us.
Being from America, the excetionally narrow lanes in Devon were indeed a challenge, but we managed. The experience just added to the adventure.

We had a great stay, very quiet location. Everything we needed for a short stay near to family in Lamerton. Hope to stay longer next time. Our host was lovely, very helpful. We appreciated the tea, coffee & milk in the fridge!

Great location and great view from the room, extremely friendly host, very comfortable beds, very cosy and great value for money.
I’m 6ft 4 and the ceilings in the kitchen bathroom and eating area were about an inch shorter, manageable though.

The location, cottage and hosts were very good.
The shower was very difficult to regulate the temps. It was either scalding hot or very cold

We loved the peace and tranquility. At one with nature.
Coffee, tea, milk and fresh veg were welcome treat on arrival.
It was cooler inside the property which was a blessing with this heat.
It's proximity to Tavistock and Lydford Gorge was a relatively short drive away.
Woodpeckers, pheasants and Jay's were to be seen most days.
Debbie and Mark are friendly and are on hand to answer any queries.
We would book again if visiting Tavistock.
There was no mobile phone reception and WiFi is limited.
This was somewhat expected as we read reviews first. It was compensated by being able to chill out for a whole week.

I loved the area. It's remote and fills you with positive energy. I liked the quiet and the cleanliness of the place. If you're traveling with a pet, there's a small garden where it can be free. There's a small brook which you can hear bubbling from time to time and it's just wonderful. Google maps can take you directly to the location with no problems. The owners are very nice as well! To be honest, there should be more pictures with the surrounding areas to give you a good idea how wonderful the location actually is! Exceed my expectations! Because it's located near Dartmoor AONB, there are plenty of places to visit: Tintagel, Clovelly, Whitman's Wood, etc.
The internet is a bit slow and there's no reception whatsoever. But don't take this as a negative! It's actually a good thing. Grab a good book and you'll be fine!

Debbie was a speedy communicator throughout the booking process, and welcomed us on arrival to hand over the keys and talk us through the facilities. The cottage/annexe is an old building, but that was expected and didn't cause us any trouble - indeed it was interesting to read its history in the 'info' folder. The heating was lovely and warm as soon as we walked in, the shower pressure/warmth was great (better than anticipated), and the beds really comfy. We liked the dining area, where there was plenty of room on the side to store our gear. The kitchen was well equipped, though the "cooker" is slightly limited as it isn't full size. The area was really quiet, so we slept really well, thank you.
The 'bedroom' is also the living room, so (like a hotel room) you will need to watch TV from your beds.
The wifi was unfortunately really poor (Debbie had warned us it could be intermittent) - it was hard to even surf the internet, and iplayer wouldn't load at all.
The cooker is a desktop cooker, with two rings and a small oven - it is fine for cooking average meals, but you can't control each ring independently, so it was tricky boiling pasta in one saucepan, whilst trying to simmer food in the other!

The property was in a remote location which we knew when we booked. So don't expect to find amenities on the doorstep. Tavistock is only a 10 minute drive away. There are some lovely walks nearby and it's lovely and quiet.
Nothing really. It was perfect.

We loved it all, Debbie was a lovely warm friendly lady, even rescuing me with some milk so I could have a cup of tea.
Inside there was everything we needed. Beds are lovely and comfy, spotlessly clean.
We would definitely return hope to make a booking for 2022.
It was 10:10 on all aspects

A tranquil location. A cottage hidden in a valley, surrounded by the beauty of a garden and countryside. Opening our bedroom window we could watch the busy lives of the birds and squirrels. Everything provided to enable us to self cater. Supermarkets easily found at Tavistock. Large shower room, a comfy bed and a very welcoming and pleasant host.
Sad at not being able to stay longer!

Ideal. Restful, comfortable, idyllic, quiet, clean, well equipped, everything one could want in a base, or break .. thank you !!
Raising the ceiling ? In a period property, not likely. Can't think of a single thing ..

Idyllic location. Perfect if yo want to get away from daily rush and stress. Beautiful location.
Wi fi a bit slow.
2.5
Very friendly host with good communication.
Lovely countryside & wildlife.
Extremely uncomfortable beds. 2 single beds pushed together with inadequate mattresses, as a result we both ended up with backache. Very limited cooking facilities. Ceilings were very low for my husband & the placement of the lights & ceiling fire detectors in every room meant my husband was constantly hitting his head on one or the other. He couldn’t stand up straight. No wardrobe, only ok for a short stay. Really steep drive, no steps.
