I was overcharged!
1) Am aware about the local tax policy, NOT applied to foregners. told the receptionist I was a foregner. checked in with my swdish passport.
2) the hotel told me the booking.com charges them more and that I (!) had to to pay this difference. while at the Booking.com is clearly stateded that ‘The final price shown is the amount you will pay to the property. Booking.com does not charge guests any reservation, administration or other fees.
Really arrogant that the hotel uses the booking.com services and makes the clients pay for it!
worst, tried to talk to the manager but they said they always have this problem and that I should talk to the Booking.com.
Totally unfriendly and unwilling to resolve the issue of a 10 USD amount!

Cleanliness was a plus. Also, the location is great.
The water in the shower took a long time to get warm. Also, next door activities (exercise class) were very loud in the morning. Also, the breakfast was too small.

The hotel was in walking distance to the Chinchorro beach and restaurants. It had a small courtyard that allowed to sit outside in the afternoon. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I felt that is was safe because the property is fenced in and somebody was there day and night.
The hotel is between a busy highway and a street next the beach. I could hear the cars all night and worse, on the entrance side of the hotel, locals hang out all night with very loud boom boxes making music until 6 am in the morning. I was not able to sleep at all for 2 nights. To get to the historical part or harbor of Arica I had to pass an area which is very neglected and people are living on the beach.

Super noisy location. Arica youth gather just outside the hotel and play loud music all night.

The hotel is right at Chinchorro Beach and in walking distance to Arica city center and Mallplaza Arica. I was warmly welcomed when I arrived. Parking space was provided safely inside the premises. The room is super clean and the bed is very comfortable. The water in the shower is hot immediately. Breakfast is from 0730 hours and is nice. Staff is always friendly and forthcoming. If one likes going out there are plenty of bars/restaurants just outside
Some people tend to test the roar of their cars in front of the hotel. I was not offended and I have earplugs for the night. Plus it is not the fault of the hotel

Breakfast was delicious, staff were helpful and kind, and the beach was literally a walk across the street. The area is a bit of a party region and can be noisy, but the rooms are soundproof.
The booking.com price does not include the 20% local tax. You can opt out if you are a foreign visitor, show your passport and PDI slip, & pay in USD. Be aware you will have to request this as the staff did not seem to know about this option which is in the fine print of your confirmation email.

Location is very good, next to the beach and restaurants.
It has a limited number of parking places. It did not affect us though.
