Beautiful surrounds. Good location. It was nice to be able to walk to local patisserie .

Just not made aware beforehand that there was no tv or reliable wifi. Cooking facilities other than a microwave would have been good.

Host was wonderful about communication. Pet friendly (at an additional cost of $40 per night), the gardens were well kept, location was peaceful and very quiet. The River cottage architecture was gorgeous inside. High ceilings and plaster work was stunning. Loved the fresh, line dried sheets. Bed was very comfortable.

No Wi-Fi. This would not have been an issue but there is no cell service either (at least not Optus or Amaysim). Cottage had a musty moldy smell (I realize we’ve had A LOT of rain this summer, but a humidifier would be really beneficial) I didn’t like the mold in bathroom. Shower is not sealed so water leaks out terribly. This is not just a little water leaking out the shower door. I did not care for the scratchy, line dried towels. No screens on French door entry. We were not given the cottage (velvet pear) that we reserved and paid for. We were placed in a smaller cottage that was too far to receive wifi. The host suggested we walk out to where we parked our car if we wanted Wi-Fi. When we asked our host about not being placed in the cottage we reserved she said “Oh yeah, well the cottages are both pretty much the same” This is not true. According to booking.com, the cottage we reserved had a separate kitchen and a much larger bathroom. Instead we were placed in a studio cottage with a small bathroom. Booking.com shows that the River cottage is $20 per night less. Im still waiting for our $40 refund as I did point this out to the host.

Location was secluded and quiet. Surrounding gardens and creek area were lovely and calming, making for a restful break from reality. Cottage tastefully decorated
