Hermosa cabaña de madera justo en la playa! La casa se encuentra justo al lado de la Reserva Biológica Marina. ¡El mejor snorkeling en Culebra justo en la puerta de tu casa! Sólo a unos 10 minutos a pie de la ciudad!
Aire acondicionado. Cuenta con 2 habitaciones con camas queen size, 1 habitación con 2 literas dobles. Bonito balcón en forma de L con vistas a la playa. La cocina y el baño se encuentran en la planta baja a lo largo de una amplia terraza abierta donde se puede descansar en las numerosas hamacas disponibles para dormitar toda la tarde.

We had the BEST time ever. The house was exactly as shown. It was perfect for the four of us. Super close to town, and the beach is literally right there!! Tulio is a fantastic host. He met us at the ferry to make sure we knew where to go. How cool was that?? Highly recommend booking with Tulio. You won’t be sorry!!

We loved the location and eclectic cottage at Melones Beach! As advertised, short walk to one of the best snorkeling spots on the island and 10 minute stroll into town.
Host was responsive and helpful and had clear, informative instructions about the property!

Tulio Ortiz was an excellent host!!! He made us feel right at home - even met us in town to follow him to find the house faster. He walked us through the home to show us where everything was & how to work everything. Very thorough w/instructions. He helped guide us with referrals on restaurants, photographer & excursions.
Side note: We highly recommend Captain Bill Catamaran for your boating excursion.

This house offers the ultimate outdoor experience: beach front (beautiful sunrises & sunsets), snorkeling, roosters, iguanas, etc. Great place for families to relax together.
Tulio provides hanging hammocks, bath & kitchen essentials & beach toys as well.
Just a side note for those over 6’ tall - watch your head on lower level! Not a complaint just watching out for others☺️
Overall our family of 4 w/ 2 boys (7 & 12yrs old) absolutely loved this location! We hope to back!!

Really nice location and so peaceful. It’s rustic but with all the necessities we needed. Hot shower, toaster oven, hammocks galore!
Our kids were entertained with hermit crabs, chickens, iguanas, and some sweet shy snakes. The beach access and short walk to town for groceries or a meal out was a treat. Good to rent a vehicle (golf cart) to get to further away sandy beaches. Tulio was a text away for any questions and his place was clean and just we wanted in a getaway. Internet is there but we also didn’t use it much! Highly recommended.

The cabin is rustic but comfortable. The snorkeling at nearby Melones Beach is really spectacular. In the evenings we closed up the upstairs and turned on the air conditioners to keep the bugs out.

This space was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. Traveling with two little kids can be a challenge, but thanks to Tulio’s incredible hospitality, our visit to Culebra was comfortable and easy. Tulio not only provided a pack and play and bug net for our infant, but even came to the house to help set it up and offered for us to bring those with us when we left the house. What a difference this made!! The space was beautiful, check in and out a breeze, and all of it left us wanting to return again. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Tulio's place is lovely. Clean and airy. The upstairs has a view to the ocean, which is literally steps away from your home. Tulio was incredibly helpful, with all sorts of great resources. Rent a Jeep if you plan to go to all of the beaches (and you should). Every beach is beautiful and different - same for the snorkeling and rock scrambling. We were there in off season, so not a lot open during the week, but enough restaurants and grocery stores to sustain us. Highly Recommend!

This property is grossly misrepresented on VRBO
The door locks are padlocks on the outside of the doors! The bathroom is downstairs and outside! The owner told us the tile underneath the house is very slick and wet due to it being outside , so if you go out in the dark to the outside bathroom try not to fall !!! Not to mention he is rude ! We told him we were not comfortable staying there , four women , he told us to get our stuff and get out! PLEASE Please don’t fall for this listing! The oven still doesn’t work since reviews 2012! Only one stove top eye worked and you can’t put ice in the freezer because it will thaw! The doors upstairs don’t come close to the floor so snakes bugs etc can come in as they please! This is a big mistake renting this place !!! Terrible start to a girls trip !

First of all, Tulio is great! He went above and beyond to give us recommendations on the area, answer all of our questions and provide good tips for our trip. The Yellow House is unconventional, but that's what makes it so special! It's not every day you head to the kitchen for a cup of coffee and have hermit crabs, iguanas and roosters roaming around your living space. The view was amazing and the breeze on the top deck was so relaxing in the evenings. Everything was clean, the kitchen had all the utensils that we required and the AC in the bedrooms kept us comfortable at night. The area is super safe and just a short golf cart ride away from the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. It was hot in early August and the mosquitoes were active, but that all comes with the territory. Bug spray and citronella candles come in handy. If you're looking for a unique and relaxing vacation spot, this home is for you!

This was our 5th trip to Culebra and it has never disappointed us. We usually stay at the flamenco beach villas but this house was so much better. The place all to ourselves. The hammocks, the beach amazing. We relaxed so much. The kids loved seeing the hermit crabs, the little lizards and the iguanas. The parents did too actually lol. Tulio was excellent to work with great communication and even met us early when our flight was changed to an earlier one. We will definitely be back.

My husband I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. House is as described, but so much more. We were alone in this little piece of heaven all week- not one person walked by our beach. Nature all around us- crabs, iguana, gecko, chickens, fish, pelicans etc. Our advice, in order to enjoy it all———- rent a golf cart- we spent days wandering around finding beautiful beaches… all of which were absolutely beautiful and very uncrowded. Don’t be afraid to wander down unmarked dirt roads with your golf cart ( or jeep)… that’s how you find the most beautiful spots. Make reservations at Susie’s, early in your stay- great restaurant!!! Also go early to Dinghy Dock and the taco place. Lots of good restaurants- enjoy them! We also got great snacks from the local roadside trucks. Liquor , beer, groceries, essentials are reasonably priced. Take lots of sunblock and bug spray.( No seeums and mosquitoes are present especially morning and evening) Bring snorkel gear. Enjoy this one of a kind adventure!

Wonderful waterfront cottage with great breezes and views. House was close to town and a beach but the road is hilly. We walked to both numerous times but not everyone may want to. There are vans that will take you from town (ferry dock) to Flamenco Beach for $5. Tulio was great, met us at the dock, and was readily available during our stay.
Of note, the bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. You need to go outside so a flashlight is needed. Only hot water is in the shower.

This was my third rental on Culebra. All have been wonderful but this one exceeded my expectations in many ways. Within 5 minutes of arriving at the cabin we were planning a return trip. The cabin is not visible from the road and we felt completely secluded, which we loved. Other reviews mentioned the hammocks and I wondered just how great can a hammock be. Turns out, they can be magic. We ate at least two meals a day there and the kitchen was great.
Tulio was easy to communicate with and a great source of information. I would not change a thing about this property or the experience.

This house was the perfect place to for our girls trip to Culebra! The space was clean and inviting! We had plenty of room for all 5 of us to relax and enjoy! We snorkeled right off of the back yard! Tulio was the prefect host! He made several recommendations and was sure to share his wealth of knowledge with us; all the best things that Culebra has to offer! We enjoyed the Yellow House a lot! If you are expecting a high-end tropical get-away, Culebra might not be for you. If you want a laid back, relaxing spot, with ton of great beaches and snorkeling, this is a place for you. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable and do most of our own cooking. Not a lot of restaurants open and easily accessible - and that was ok with us. Thank you Tulio - you have a gem.

Great location and great communication with Tulio. He gave good recommendations on the beaches and restaurants to check out. Not all beaches are sandy so just make sure you bring some good supportive shoes for when you walk in the rocky beaches 🙂

We spent an amazing week at Tulio's house in Culebra! My teenager stated that this trip exceeded their expectations and a large part of that was this wonderful house! We had plenty of room to spread out, spent lots of time in the hammocks and loved the open air kitchen/ dining / living room areas - we had hermit crabs, roosters and even an iguana join us at various times. We ate breakfasts at the umbrella table on the beach and ice cream in the lounge chairs on the beach. The beds were quite comfortable and we did not even have to turn on the A/C upstairs because of all the windows and a great breeze. The location of this house was also perfect - a few minutes to downtown and a few minutes to Melones beach and convenient to all other locations too. Tulio met us on arrival and gave us the tour and additional property insights - he was great and very responsive to questions. We highly recommend this property.

Mr. Ortiz met us after we finished renting our golf cart and brought us to the cottage. He provided information on the Island and some great tips. This is an great location close to town but yet far enough away to enjoy some solitude. The open kitchen is a great place to cook and hang out while still being able to enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean steps away. We loved our week stay and will be looking forward to staying here again! We enjoyed having the place to ourselves but also a great place for couples, few friends or a family.

Short walk (5 minutes) to downtown in one direction, and in other direction to best snorkeling on the island at Melones Beach.
Waterfront property - decent snorkeling, eat on the beach, watch the water, search for sea glass.
Great upper deck - wide, covered, wraps two sides of the cottage.

Cons:
Bugs. Specifically lots of no-see-ums for a couple hours in the morning and a couple hours in evening. Bug spray 100% necessary since cooking and eating are open air on the lower level.
Some maintenance issues - loud air conditioner in one room, stove partially functional (2 stovetop elements worked, 2 did not, oven broils but doesn’t bake), kitchen sink drain plumbing leaked, some wall sconce lights in second level did not work.
Sleeping pillows were very thin.

Tulio was easy to communicate with. The cottage was very clean and had all the necessities you would want. The location was convenient to Dewey but secluded enough for privacy. We will be back to the yellow cottage soon.

My wife and I had a wonderful time on our anniversary trip. This is the perfect place to relax and recharge. It's nice to hear the waves from our bedroom and walk 100 feet from the door to the ocean. Snorkeling and kayaking was great too! We couldn't have asked for a better host. Tulio was always accessible and gave great advice and recommendations. We also had great fun with H2O Water Taxi on a day trip to Culebrita and learning to wind surf with Lisa Penfield! Just an all around great trip!

We absolutely loved this property! The private beach, amazing snorkeling, and breathtaking sunsets were spectacular. We loved the more remote location - allowing us to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Yet we were a quick ride to town when we wanted to eat out. Snorkeling at nearby Melones was a favorite and taking the water taxi to Culebrita is definitely worth the trip. We went fishing with Captain David and caught plenty of grouper and a shark. Tulio is a wonderful host and has great recommendations. We did rent a golf cart and had fun exploring the island. If you’re looking for a laid back beach vacation with great snorkeling and privacy, this is an amazing spot. Thank you Tulio!

Beautiful island, great location, and amazing host. Tulio will be there for any heat you might have. He is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Gorgeous beach all to yourself with great snorkeling. Having only one bathroom was the only downside for us. Everything else was great.

Beautiful beach cottage right on the coast, with open common area and private A/C rooms. If you want to unwind and disconnect from hustle and bustle this is your spot. Gorgeous location, nicely maintained simple property that is all about connecting with nature. including the many mozzies--bring bug spray and bug repellent lamps. No TV, no internet and no fancy gadgets or luxury here but the chance to truly relax and be happy with the ocean, open sky and green trees. Tulio is an amazing host--very responsive and so kind. If you can--rent his kayaks and enjoy his stories! We loved every minute of our trip and recommend this house to all families.

Tulio the owner was extremely helpful with our planning even before we arrived. He met us at the airport to take us to the house and show us the town. the house is right on the water with crystal clear water. The kitchen and bathroom are downstairs with hammocks and eating areas where we spent most of our time. Cooking breakfast while looking out to the beach was a treat. The kitchen had everything you need to cook with. The upstairs rooms each have AC units so it cooled down quickly. The location to town is great. It was literally about a two minute ride to town on the golf cart. I would recommend the golf cart because the streets in town and parking at the market is tight. All the beaches are beautiful there. We went one day over to Culebrita island and it was awesome. We will hopefully be back again someday and would stay at Tulio's house again in a heartbeat.
