Great place to stay - friendly staff, comfortable room, excellent food both for evening meal and breakfast

The location, right on the edge of a busy road, is really the only minus point

the property is currently under construction at the front. We were a bit nervous when we turned up and saw the construction and a huge group of bikers. the bikers soon left, and the construction had no bearing on our stay. The room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable. Our room was at the back away from the road so was quite quiet. The shower was hot and warm, with very good water pressure. the food at the restaurant could not be faulted. It was delicious! the staff were helpful and kind, even when we were struggling to communicate. One waitress had better English than we had German, and she was very kind to help us. the cook frequently came out to check everyone was happy with the food. The location is on a junction, and there was very little around except beautiful mountains, fields, and a stream which was exactly how we wanted it.

Nice location, close by to Triberg and easyily accessible by car. Breakfast was included and the food (dinner) at the restaurant below the hotel is very nice and tasty. The hotel and restaurant staff are very nice. Kids friendly too.

Windows if kept open, 1) the noise from vehicles passing by (street in front of the hotel) could annoy noise sensitive people. 2) Our room was exactly above the restaurant cooking area, so cooking and oil smell use to enter the room, at times was very stuffy at night.

Very friendly and cheerful owner and staff. Service is first class. Excellent food and enormous portions - you get truly spoiled for breakfast! There are modern and old-fashioned rooms. The modern (or 'deluxe' as they are called by the owner) ones are excellent, the old-fashioned rooms are a bit basic. The countryside is beautiful, with marvellous rambling opportunities.

The nearest town - with shopping facilities - is about 20 min. walk away. Though the guesthouse is quite on its own, it is situated at a busy junction, which makes for a lot of traffic noise from about 5 am to 2 am. Also, it is a favourite with local people for having a meal, which makes the place very busy, particularly on weekends, which might not be to everyone's liking.

Everything was just perfect. Room very well equipped and clean. Breakfast was great.
