Great hotel and host! Have the option for a buffet dinner made by the host, which was excellent. Also breakfast is included and is nice as well. Comfortable room with everything you need, would definitely recommend!

Perfect location close to the Elberadweg. Breakfasts ok, we didn't leave hungry. Grill supper at a good price was fantastic. We loved the atmosphere of the place :)

Maybe worth thinking of gluten free option for breakfast...

The hotel was in a very nice location, the building itself was nice, and the gardens were very agreeable. The room was small and cozy, and very clean. I had a beautiful view over the roof tops; Schnackenburg is a beautiful tiny town. The owner and/or manager was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I was too tired (after a long bike ride) to take up on his offer to participate in the barbecue. I‘ll do that next time for sure.

it's amazing place to stay! the personal is fantastic. evening grill from owner was tasty and generous. town is small, cosy and calm. morning bell makes our stay so relaxed and comfortable. good choice of beers and nice small shop to buy snacks. we had a room with window in the toilet and it is +1 lovely moment room is spacious and calm and to final - chaise-longue in garden made our tired after long trip bodies so happy. definitely will come back!

The property owner did fantastic BBQ for great prize. Possibility to store bicycles in the garage. Great breakfast.

The host was very nice. Evening barbecue was perfect. The tiny town on the Elbe is very quiet. A relaxing experience altogether. Great place for walking and cycling too.

Old style BB where you mark how many beers you had and pay in the morning. It is relatively clean, rooms are not big but cosy. The building (Alte Schule) is exceptional symmetrical for the period and well restored.

Everything. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was large and comfortable. It had a great outdoor garden where the owner does an all you can eat bbq with lots of different salads and meats in the evening for anyone who wants it. The honesty bar is great for drinks and snacks too. It is in a wonderful location in an old historic village with no traffic so nice and quiet. A great place to stop when cycling the Elbe away from the big towns. The owner even helped us to get a bike taxi the next day when i felt too tired to cycle. Thank you.

This is one of those places that is so wonderful it makes you want to rewrite reviews of other places you've stayed just because it's so exceptional in comparison. We arrived after a long day of biking along the Elberadweg to discover this small town where we'd booked for the night was unlikely to have any restaurants or services. However, the host welcomed us warmly and let us know that he grills up a bbq buffet each night for the guests (for a very reasonable price). It was absolutely delicious, with various salads and sides, along with all-you-can eat bbq. The room we stayed in was comfortable, clean, well-designed and with a gorgeous view of the church tower. Beer, wine and cold drinks are self-serve in a big refrigerator--just tally what you take and it's added to your bill at the end. While many smaller places are canceling breakfasts during Corona times, these hosts went out of their way to provide lovely full breakfasts with all hygiene measures in place. You can just tell when hospitality is so important to hosts that they go to such lengths to make sure their guests are well provided for no matter what. We would visit again just to stay here!
