The wonderful hosts - the farm environment - the washing machine

For a base to explore the NE of Tasmania the location was excellent. I was attracted to the place by its description. I like something a bit out of the ordinary.

Great location, close to all local beaches and shops.

Mobile internet access was quite patchy on the coast so wifi would have made things easier for internet access, but this wasn't the end of the world as we were able to maintain enough reception to keep up to date with online state covid updates, etc.

The location to everything was great.

The owner upon meeting us winged about how tired they were and how busy they were. They gave us free fruit which was awesome but upon inspection the berries had grubs, the apricots were brushed and the apple was soft. After check in on closer inspection we found one bug which we promptly sprayed. By midnight we had used 3/4 of a can of bug spray to kill over 30 bugs that kept coming into the “bug shack” as we aptly named it. After a sleepless night we checked out in the morning at 6am and messaged the owner that we had left. We didn’t hear from them until 10am the next day, they didn’t even realise we left. We didn’t stay the additional 2 days as originally booked. They advised they had wifi. They neglected to mention that wifi was only available in their cafe during their open hours. The crockery in the kitchen was dirty and the tiled floor throughout the kitchen was greasy and dirty. The shower leaked out into the remainder of the bathroom and there was no waste in the floor for the water to escape to. We are builders, this “bug shack” would not pass inspection in Queensland and should be condemned. They should be ashamed of charging anyone money for this type of accommodation.

The cottage was very spacious with large dinning area and awesome living room with unique atmosphere. The cottage, plus Ann's & Dennis' hospitality, made us feel like at home. Faboulous NYE stay!

Beautiful quiet farm in the perfect location.

Such a lovely place, the owners are the nicest people and very welcoming with many interesting stories to tell. Our little one enjoyed a taste of the farm life and the location is fantastic for exploring the bay of fires. The farm dogs were also a great hit with our bub.
