Receptionist was friendly Room was clean except for fridge

The fridge was clean but it had an extremely strong smell of rotten fish. It was a very cold day 7 degrees Celsius, we arrived at 5pm, there was 9 windows open and the room was absolutely freezing. The heating was inadequate and it took hours for the room to get warm. It didn't help that it had two large floor to ceiling bay windows, all single glazed, lots of heat loss. Someone had taken all the electrical plugs out of the wall and I had to move furniture to access power points to plug lamps, electric blanket, small fan heater in so we could use them. I didn't know I could take photos for a review, I wish I could put the smell in the fridge on this, it was BAD, even my granddaughter make comments about it. Would Never go back again. Review will get taken down by motel owner for sure, no one is allowed an honest opinion.

Clean, comfortable, modern, short walk to town and easy to get to the ferries

Late check in was easy and not a problem.

Very comfy and had everything we needed. Spotlessly clean. Free parking. Nice friendly staff. Only a short stroll to the Supermarket & main restaurant hub. Recommend Oxley’s, The Barn or Irish Pub for a good meal and excellent hospitality. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location after Queen Charlotte Sounds tramp

perfect for our overnight stay straight off the ferry and across road from supermarket. All seemed quite new and fresh - very clean - spa bath was great. Big bed, comfortable but bit on the hard side for us (but most probably like it firmer than us). we’ve stayed 3 times now.

if you’re staying longer you might find an upstairs room more appealing.

Loved the stay

Well located, one block away from the main street of Picton and 15 min by foot from the ferry dock. The room was basic but more than enough for a one night stay as ours.

Lack of AC in summer, only a fan available.

Bathroom and shower were small compared to the room

It was very close to the ferry terminal. The car parking was free. It was very quiet

We would like to have been told that the room was upstairs before we booked to stay as we both have knee problems and find stairs difficult. An offer to carry our case up the stairs would have been very helpful after being told there was no alternative to our room. As it was we left it in the car and just took out the bare necessities
