The hotel is so nice, from the check in, the rooms, the thoughfulness of all the kid-friendly touches (kid slippers and robes, a step ladder inside our room bathroom, and complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste for our little one) to the facilities. We all loved our stay and can't wait to go back! The kids absolutely loved the kids' club, the play area is exeptional, perfect for families with young kids.
Nothing.

The rooftop pool was wonderful, especially after a day of hiking. The breakfast was ample and delicious, the room spacious with a wonderful view.
The timing of the shuttle to and from the train station was awkward, leaving a lot of waiting time.

The traditional live song session around the fireplace daily at 8.30pm.
The play room for both adults and kids including sports like tennis and table tennis.
Unfortunately, the traditional live song session ended early due to rain.
Some of the play room games (e.g. online games) are not available due to paid subscription.
Some activities are only available at weekends although the hotel was full during our weekday stay.

The pool was fantastic! Guests can enjoy the beauty of the gorges while floating on the water. Cannot think of a better way to relax. Also, there are small tubs with hot spring water. You can dip yourself in the hot bath then move to the cold water in the pool, back and forth.
The room, honeymoon studio, was outstanding. The shower room had a small window to a private garden allowing us to watch birds while showering. There was also a nice bathtub. The free cosmetics and hair dryer were really top notch. The fridge was daily refilled with courtesy drinks including Taiwanese beer and tasty complimentary snacks were also provided.
Breakfast was, as expected, out of this world.
I did not like the fact that they come into the room just after sunset to "set the lights". I do not appreciate this kind of unsolicited service. Really, they should not come to the room after the daily clean up is finished. In fact, I was taking a relaxing bath and all of a sudden someone rang the bell. As I did not answer in an attempt to make the person go away, the staff member started knocking frantically on the door so that I had to leave the bathtub. dry myself and answer the door. It turns out they wanted to give me a complimentary "desert" which was some kind of porridge which I did not ask for nor was interested in trying it.
The other problem was that when we arrived they took us to a "relaxing lounge" to brief us on the facilities. To be honest, all I wanted at that time was to leave my luggage in the room and go out hiking. But instead I had to sit and listen to a lot of explanation which I was not interested. In addition, we were requested to make choice regarding breakfast and dinner.
Last. I think the hotel should provide better dining options. There were two restaurants and room service but I was not fully satisfied with it.
I am being a bit picky but it is because this is not a cheap hotel so the expectation is also very high.

-The location within Taroko Gorge was awesome.
-The hotel was very clean, well managed and the view of the gorge was sublime - pay to upgrade to a gorge-view room if it’s an option!
-The facilities were very good and there is plenty to do for couples and families.
-The pools were spacious and had equipment to borrow to aid swimming needs!
-The view from the gym was good and it had a reasonable amount of equipment.
-The rooftop jacuzzis were a great selling point!
-The food in the main restaurants was good overall.
-The Baiyang Trail was 1km away and a super and easy walk!
-The only place to eat is Silks, other options are very limited around the area.
-The local convenience stores were ok but didn’t compare to Silks.
-Getting around the gorge from Silks was tricky without transport... even when you have transportation, parking is difficult.

Beautiful location, helpful and professional staff, fantastic facilities with rooftop pools and great playground for the kids in the basement
There are only two restaurants so it's better to make reservation in advance. The hotel has a shuttle to Shanyue suspension bridge but it's required that you book two weeks in advance.
