Lovely villa overlooking the beautiful La Sagesse Bay.

I wanna thank the host for having me and my family. The home was just as it was shown in the pictures and the views surpassed our expectations. I would book this place again in. An heartbeat. U will need a driver or a car to get around but for the views it was worth it

Pearl was amazing to work with and the house was lovely. It could use some restocking of pots and pans.

Had a great 10 day stay the property was amazing. The people were friendly, there was so many great and fun things to do. The owners and property manager were very upfront and helpful, There was some construction down from the house and the owners made sure we were well aware of the extent! I don’t think they could possibly have treated us better.

Our family just enjoyed a week here in Grenada. We are all thrilled we chose this house for our family vacation this year. The house is spacious and beautiful. It’s close proximity to La Segasse Beach was super convenient for a nice beach day. The drive to the other side of the island was a quick 30 minutes. Jill, Ms Pearl, and Mr Boney were so kind and easy to work with. The construction down below was communicated to us. It didn’t bother us too much at all. The pile driver as our alarm clock was the worst part :) Thank you so much for your hospitality!

We traveled from Florida to thr Island for a Thanksgiving break getaway and we were beyond thrilled with our vacation. The house was secluded and quiet with a stunning view. Don't bother with the reviews complaining about the construction. Yes, it is going on down the cliff from the house, but we never heard a thing, it is kept very tidy so it's not unsightly, and it doesn't block and of the view. The house is spacious and clean. Yes, there are a few things that could be updated, but I'm sure it's that was in every home. This is someone's private home, not a resort. It was a lovely as we expected. The on site laundry was great so we didn't have to worry about packing muddy clothes from the hike to Seven Sisters Falls! The beds were on the extra firm side but that is about the only negative we have to say. The house is a little bit away from everything on the island but it's just like staying in a suburb outside of the main city, and it was a beautiful drive to enjoy. The people of the island are like no other place we have been, so friendly and genuine. The food was delicious and had a great variety around the island. Do not miss touring Belmont Estate, Grand Etang, and walking around St. George. Dinner at La Sagesse Hotel, Sails, Umbrellas, and the pizzeria by the university were all a must. We also loves Sweet Traditions bakery in St. George! The property owners are very responsive and the caretaker, Pearl, was an amazing help with everything. I highly recommend the property as well as the island in general!

It is a spacious and well designed house, with a lovely view. There were 10 of us staying and did not feel crowded at all.
There is major construction work going at the foot of the hill next to the beach, we were aware of this when we booked and although you are aware of it, it was not disruptive. Doubtless this will only be for a few months and when the new hotel is open there will be a wider choice of places to eat nearby. La Sagesse is a lovely beach but the long standing hotel there has closed for refurbishment, reducing the eating options in the area at the moment.
I am well aware that it is constant work trying to keep up with the maintenance on a house near the sea in Grenada, but I must agree with the last post that the property could do with some remedial work.
Thanks to Pearl who had a few problems with the house to deal with during our stay and was always quick to respond. However when you are on holiday you can do without the hassle of having to report faults, so I would say it would be better to take the place off line for a little while and attend to all of the snags.
The road to the villa is rough and can be awkward to drive, especially in wet weather. A car is essential and a 4x4 is recommended. There is ample parking if your group has several cars.
We recommend Spice Isle restaurant for a relatively nearby takeaway. There is a closer but more expensive option at the marina.

This was an amazing family vacation. The house was big enough for all of us. Every room had their own bathroom, which was perfect for privacy. Location was a bit out of the way, however, having Bentley set up the transportation was perfect. Bentley, the house manager was a dream come true. We were there during election so Grenada was on a whole other level of excitement and fun.

Pearl is amazing. The property has a unique access road. I wish I had rented a jeep. The property itself needs a really good week of maintenance (powerwash, cleaning inside, grounds cleanup.) We had issues with the pool, a large water leak out of a wall (including electrical light switch,) and a plugged A/C drain. Kitchen cabinets are in disrepair. Hot water is hit or miss as it is only solar... You must be led to the property upon arrival, as there is no street address per se. Did I mention that Pearl is amazing?

This place is awesome! Pearl is a jewel- so helpful and easy to get ahold of. Our party consisted of 10 with 3 small children. They had so much fun playing in the pool and just relaxing in between our excursions.

Really lovey property which was easy to use and had a very sociable space with a large kitchen, dining sitting room downstairs as well as a big terrace. Good bedrooms all en-suite which was fabulous! The property was definitely more tired than I had expected with some rust and general wear and tear and it was a shame that all the old woodwork was in a pile in the garden but I guess it is difficult to keep on top of a house near the sea. The construction site of a new hotel was the major downside for us. It was very intrusive and incredibly noisy at times, starting at 7am and going on to at least 7pm. The only time they had off was a Sunday afternoon. They cleared a lot of ground below the house while I was there and it did disrupt what would otherwise have been the most fabulous view. It still was a great view but you had to look over the building site. I was there for three weeks and it was great getting to know people at La Sargesse who were all so friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed a couple of meals at Calabash which was beautiful and a real treat. One fabulous part of this trip was Bentley - the house manager. He could not have been more helpful. He was always friendly and polite and ready to help out in every way. He managed to get a letter from the Ministry of Health to allow my nephew to come despite only having one vaccine, he got a doctor for my father and went out of his way to find us some fish and ribs. A truly great asset! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

The house was sparkling clean and beautifully appointed. There's so much to do and see on the island and yet we always gravitate back to that patio in the back to relax in the breeze. I'd go back to Grenada just for that. Pearl and Bentley were wonderfully responsive and helpful. Thanks for all of your tips and guidance.

A lovely, breezy, well-appointed and roomy home for our family trip to Grenada. We appreciated Pearl's attentiveness in making sure we were happy with our trip, and the peaceful location of the home. It offered everything we were looking for - comfortable and spacious bedrooms, kitchen and living area, a refreshing pool and sun deck, and proximity to the beautiful La Sagesse beach. An adventurous drive to the lovely hiking and waterfalls of Grand Etang, and the town and beaches of St. George. So relaxing! We would love to return!

My Wife and I have traveled to many of the islands in the Caribbean. So, we are well versed in this type of vacation. To start with, the owner called us right away after we emailed him which is a good omen. Finding out that he was a famous sportsman gave us much comfort.
Up front, we must say where Zingibar is located, you need a car. And, you will have to drive on the left. That said, you could use it for the 10 minute drive to the beautiful La Sagesse beach and restaurant below and just spend a laid-back great vacation that way or if adventurous, drive the 30 minutes to many of the island’s attractions.
This beautiful home, with the fabulous view and infinity swimming pool, is well worth it. You are secluded, away from the tourist hustle and bustle. And, Bentley comes with it! Bentley is the house manager and good friend of the owner. He will pick you up at the airport, rent you a car, give you a cellphone to use and tell you all the best places to explore on this beautiful island. He even loaned us his laptop when ours died. Most importantly, he is a wonderful person.
We were adventurous as usual and spent a lot of time exploring. We liked the IGA supermarket in town, went to Magazine Beach and ate at the very unique Aquarium Restaurant there, had cocktails at Radisson Grenada Grand on Grand Anse Beach, took the Westerhall Estate Rum Factory tour and took the Herb and Spice Garden tour in Laura. Closer to home, there is the funky restaurant/bar at the Grenada Marina just over the hill from Zingibar that we liked. We stayed 10 nights, but still could not see or do all the things we wanted to and there were times we just got delicious take-out from the La Sagesse Restaurant (bring your own plates), hung out at the house and enjoyed it and its beautiful view of the beach and the Atlantic.
We will return!

Outstanding Grenada Experience Highlighted by a Stay at Zingiber
My husband, our 6-year-old son and I stayed for one week at Zingiber in February. While we traveled extensively in Caribbean islands, this was our first time to visit Grenada. We fully enjoyed the beautiful island; our positive experience was highlighted by our relaxing stay at Zingiber. As others have commented, the villa provides front-row view of picturesque La Sagesse Bay. Relaxing in the hummock (which we brought) on the huge terrace and enjoying the lovely ocean view was priceless.
Area:
We were absolutely happy with the La Sagesse Bay area rather than staying in the busy and touristy Southwest area. The area is filled with unspoiled natural scenery which gives a private and privileged feel. It has a relatively short drive to restaurants, grocery stores and other activity providers. Make sure to stop by local stores nearby - we enjoyed sampling fresh sugar cane at Wayne’s (only 5 min drive from the house, toward South). There we drank sugar cane juice and bought some cane vinegar. Local people are very friendly and helpful. In the evening, my son loved going for adventures finding frogs and toads just outside of the villa.
House:
The best feature of the house is its expansive 2-tiered terrace. As the place has ample outdoor furniture, that allowed us to fully enjoy life outdoors at the villa. Having an infinity pool was also a definite plus and we used it a lot. It has robust kitchen facilities - making pancakes in the mornings and preparing dinner was a fun experience (note to US travelers: this UK oven system utilizes mnemonic increments rather than a temperature setting). Wifi worked well as others noted and TV reception was good, too.
Service:
House manger, Bentley, was a great resource and he looked after us well during our stay. We rented a car at the airport. Meeting him there took away any anxiety we had for our first day on a new island. He was reachable anytime we had questions. The owner provided local cell phone for us to use during our stay - having that was very helpful for making reservations and inquiries to restaurants and activity providers. The villa's owner is prompt and responsible and it was a pleasure communicating with him before, during, and after our stay.
Acid Test:
Would we come back to this villa? Yes!

WE as a family group of 4 adults and an infant arrived in Grenada after sundown, we were met by the house manager, Bentley at the airport. Having no idea as to where we going it was reasurring to follow Bentley. The villa was a welcome sight and very appealing even in the dark. When the sun rose the first morning it revealed a beautiful view of the ocean, the bay and a wonderful beach. The house is very comfortable, the location great, the pretty and peaceful surroundings fantastic. We rented a vehicle and explored the island, I strongly suggest this to anyone as there are numerous sights to see and experience. The island people are friendly and welcoming, we were greeted warmly everywhere. We ate most of our breakfast meals in the house, however every meal we ate at any of the restaurants were delicious ( Thanks Bentley for the tips) starting at the beach restaurant, which is visible from the balcony. The beach at La Sagesse is good for youngsters as it is protected by the bay and reasonably shallow with sandbars. I truly recommend this rental property and hope to return again. Scott M.
