Great location, clean, & comfortable!

Bit of a wonky tv/remote, and pool was closed when we got there.

We could stay with our dog in the room, the hotel is really pet friendly and we could feel that.

Great location in walking distance to downtown and restaurants; reasonable price for a quiet, comfortable night’s sleep

When we checked in there was nobody at the reception. We rang the bell twice and even telephoned the hotel to try and “scare up” the staff. We must have waited for ten minutes for someone to finally appear. This should not happen at a hotel at 5:30 in the evening in any hotel.

Grounds were immaculate as was the hotel. It was nestled in amongst homes rather than on a hotel strip. Lots of parking. Close to downtown.

Everything was exceptional

We stayed in Comfort Inn, in Goderich August 21-23, 2023. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. We did not have to wait for the check in or check out process. The beds were very comfortable and they provided clean linens, shampoo, conditioner, shower cap, makeup wipes, lotion, soap, decaf coffee, Columbia coffee, tea and sugars in the room. They fresh bake cookies each day and place them out in a cookie jar in the entry area near lemon water. The pool was kept at a good temperature and goes to 4 feet 6 inches in depth, there was also a small gym for those who would like to work out. The buffet breakfast was great. There was bread, bagels, muffins, yogurt, apples, oranges, sausages, small omelettes, a couple kinds of cereal, a couple kinds of packages oatmeal, and waffles. For drinks there was coffee, tea, water, apple juice and orange juice.

The pool was kept at a nice temperature and we enjoyed all the available towels; however the pool walls could have used a scrubbing and their accessible entry chair was not working.

Spacious, comfortable, GREAT breakfast included..a real benefit for my big family! Very polite & friendly staff, all of them! I was especially impressed with the young lady who checked us in!

pool was open and warm for the kids. Beds were fairly comfortable. Different softness of pillows was nice. Things were clean and there were enough towels and pool towels.

No one at front desk when we arrived and had about 7-10 minute wait wondering what was going on. Desk clerk apologized and said she had been upstairs fixing things. She was overly chatty and made mistakes while checking us in which delayed us even more. We found out why she had been upstairs! When we got to our room we could not get a signal for the tv. After a month in the bush we would have loved to see a show. Later found out the whole floor had been out. Wi-fi was fussy and 1 of us could not get on at all. Also, the clock in the room was very complicated with no instructions so it was not set for the right time and we wanted to reset it but no matter what we tried nothing worked. No offer for a discount. Breakfast was just awful. Omelets were like cardboard, Greasy half cold sausages. Bagels that were left were whole grain but more like horse feed, Coffee was way more water than coffee. When they redid it, it was still weak and flavorless - get a clue folks, travelers would rather have a really good cup of coffee than any of the other mediocre or worse food served. Why not just offer a room without the price of the breakfast included. Let people have a choice. I would much rather eat elsewhere. On top of it all the price was more than our online booking said. Apparently they quoted the price in USD even though we booked it in Canada and obviously the stay was in Canada so we thought we were paying $177 CAD but it was really $234 CAD.

Spacious parking, beatiful lanscaped building. Quiet area, staff friendly, clean, quiet (we there during week), continental breakfast was unbelievably varient. Loved waffle maker. Our room was clean awesome as had sofa couch extra and seating area(half wall. Microwave mini fridge. Town very beautiful and beach not far. Beach street restaurant right at beach,recommend the pickeral. We never been to Goderich and we were impressed. Quiet tourist town (weekends busy). Ps:must go to Culberts bakery,Cream puffs delicious.

Liked everything, no kids running around hallways,no loud talking in hallways,quiet , was all ok
