Mauro and the rest of the staff are so kind and helpful! The villa is beautiful and the room was very clean and comfortable . Its very convenient if you’re taking the train as well.

Nice private patio

This Pension henerally looks pleasant overall, but far too expensive for its standard. During our stay at Lake Como, we slept in many hotels, but this one was the most expensive. Unfortunately, it was also the poorest room we stayed in during this vacation. There is hardly any furniture in the room, no wardrobe, only one chair. It is rare that there is no furniture in the room. We had to put clothes and shirts on the floor. We had a rainy day and the TV wasn't set up. The bed is too hard, and there was only one pillow and it was very flat. The pillow cannot be so flat, it makes it impossible to sleep. This would be a great hotel but for half price. 183 eur per night for 2 people, it is way too expensive in such a small room. If it woluld cost 80 eur, I would give the score 10/10.

We loved the convenient location & lovely lake view. The room had a private entrance with a locking gate and a bathroom will all amenities needed. Our hosts, Mauro and his wife were wonderful…. very accommodating, pleasant, and so helpful! The breakfast was delicious. plentiful, and set up nicely for the guests.

The bed was full size instead of king size and not too comfortable for us. Breakfast is only served at 9am so unfortunately we missed having breakfast our second morning since our train departed at 8:35am.

Breakfast was very good. The view of the lake from our room was nice and a short walk to the harbor front. The couple who own the Villa are lovely people who made us feel very welcome. While being so close to the train made for loud noise during the day, it was also helpful to be close for getting in and out of Varenna.

The room had just been cleaned when we arrived but the bathroom floor had black long hairs on the floor. The shower stall had no ledge to hold items. Patio looks down directly on to the train platform - was loud during the day - but we were out for most of it.

Mauro was very welcoming, helpful and friendly host, which made our stay at Villa Varenna very pleasant. Train station is right below the villa so it is very accessible to get to. The room was the prefect size and fit for the two nights. The room also came with its own terrace area which we didn't get a chance to use but was a lovely addition to the room. It was great not having to worry about breakfast each morning as we were served fresh bread, pastries, yoghurt, and eggs along with juice and coffee. We would definitely recommend Villa Varenna and would happily stay there again.

We were greeted by Mauro who was so very friendly and spoke great English. We were located right across from the train which was convenient and our room was bright, cheery and clean. The breakfast was fantastic. We really loved our experience there!

We loved the beautiful view of the lake from our private balcony, the clean bathroom, the comfy bed and the delicious breakfast served on real china out on the patio. Mauro and Paola were very gracious hosts and answered our endless questions about everything Italian. They made us feel like family but also treated us like royalty.

The hosts were so kind. Amazing hospitality. It was so nice to wake up to a delicious breakfast each morning. The location is perfect for visiting Varenna.

The owners were kind and lovely, they kept the rooms immaculate and served a delicious simple breakfast daily. Despite being close to the train station, couldn’t hear the trains of windows were shut.

Terrace was in direct view of train platform. A privacy screen would have been a nice addition.

Everything. I was totally in love with the place. They were really loving to us, i felt i was home. Will totally recommend this place if you want to go to Lago di Como (Varenna). If you go by train, when you arrive you can see the hotel just in front of you. It is really close to everything you can walk. Mauro and his wife explain everything to us. I really miss the place, i almost cried haha. Kind regards to Mauro, his wife and the dog Roosvelt Manuel and Grace
