Super friendly and competent people. Location as advertised which means remote from any noise but close to Spello, Assisi, etc.
When I booked via booking.com I booked an apartment with a terrace/ long balcony which seemed to be bright and which had aircon. When we arrived we didn’t get what we avoided as apparently booking.com shows only sample rooms. This was news to me as I book a lot via booking.com. The team was so nice and offered us a solution with aircon for 3 out off the 8 days we originally booked. They really wanted us to enjoy our stay even shorter as we had planned. Thank you again for your hospitality.
The place was full of families with little kids - so the pool is not a quiet affair. Lots of crying kids, splashing, jumping, water ball, diving - we are out of that phase in life already. But great place for little ones.

Gallano was an abandoned village before the recent restoration. It is absolutely stunning. Benny, the resort's keeper, can tell you the story of every stone there, and Letizia at the Front Office will ensure your journey is unforgettable. Two big and nice pools, one of the best restaurants we found in the area and a fantastic view of the Umbrian countryside. Couldn't recommend it more warmly.

Beautifully restored village in Umbria, converted into resort with excellent views and very clean apartments. Although it was opened already few years ago inside and outside it looks like it was re-build a year ago (very well maintained). Good location, very close to major attractions of Umbria (Assisi, Perugia, Spello, Spoleto) but also convenient access to Foligno where you can get some supplies. Apartments are well equipped and your pets are welcomed. They have also a restaurant if you do not want to travel to eat but we have not used it during our stay
You have to be aware it is located on the hill and also most (if not all) apartments are multi level so be prepared to climb some stairs. For us it is not a problem and actually makes the place special but if you have some disabilities it might be challenging.

This is an outstanding apartment hotel located in a converted hillside village. The restoration from the deserted village was extremely well done and the buildings are beautiful. The two pools are also great and offer views over the surrounding hills and valleys. The surrounds are lovely and, despite the quiet location, the hotel is close to Valtopina (small supermarket and restaurant), a large supermarket in Foligno, and to some great tourist attractions including Spello (only 15 min drive), Assisi, and Montefalco. We made a day trip to Rome, which is only a 1.5 hour train ride from Foligno. We also took a hike to the top of the hill - it is a 700 m climb up steep trails, but the views over Umbria are fantastic. Our 3 bedroom apartment was huge, had 2.5 bathrooms, and was nicely furnished. The kitchen also served our needs well. The breakfast was also pretty good, and the outdoor eating is lovely. This resort is especially well suited to families. Most of the clientele is Dutch and the rest of us are missing out on a great experience.
More power outlets would be useful addition in the kitchen. Air conditioning would also be a nice addition. Floor and desk fans in shuttered rooms don’t provide much relief on hot nights.

The property itself has been carefully put together, and as a concept as a restored castletop village is lovely. The furnishings were well thought out, and the room we had - the two bedroom - was comfortable. The bathrooms were of a high quality. The pools were fun, and had a great view especially at sunset. It was unfortunate that the pool bar wasn't really available - I saw it open only once, and it seemed to be providing crisps and possibly drinks. The staff were really nice and friendly. The buffet breakfast was managed by you pointing at what you wanted, and the nice serving persons would select it for you. It was good value at 7.50 for adults, and the children ate free. Social distancing by the staff (the guests were not so well disciplined at the buffet line) and mask observance was very good, and everything seemed very clean. The children's playground was very good, with lots of room for ball games or kite flying.
Our room had no air conditioning, although there were two large fans provided. The room also had lots of ants. One is really in the countryside here, so you have to take that in your stride. The property is really on the top of the hill in the middle of nowhere, with a windy road wide enough for only one car - courage was required for the first ascent but after a few times, we got used to this. The property therefore is also quite steep with steps so I couldn't recommend it if you have people who have accessibility issues, lots of luggage and you definitely need a car. There is no onsite grocery shop - you can buy local wine - but for other needs you really need to go quite a way, down the hill and a couple of kilometres before you can reach the first small supermarket. The bar advertised was open I saw a couple of times, which seemed a missed opportunity - it had a great location at the heart of the small converted village but was hardly open or made much of. The restaurant - I am afraid this was a slight disappointment - it had great food and wine, but was let down by bad service. Or my bad Italian. On our first night, it was busy - very nice buzz actually, but our ordered food took a long time, was brought incorrectly and to get the bill took ages. Other tables seemed to get service with more attention in pouring of their wine and so on, so possibly our family was just being abit overlooked for the larger groups. We had a good lunch there, and the service was better - as there were only two families at the time. We had dinner there one more time ( where else can you go at the top of the hill unless you wish to drive somewhere) with less issues and the pizza was wonderful. I hope we just had one bad experience. The pool shut at 7pm, which seemed a bit early if you are out for the day or wished to swim out of the heat of the day.

Location, location, location! And the pool. Stunning place and one of the best holiday sites we have ever been. Very spacious room, large seating area and kitchen. Very quiet place to rest and relax. Good restaurant with kind people . Absolutely faboulous. One tip: a bread delivery service would be a nice to have when you are self catering.
