Everything was very good

Set in a quiet rural location, the very comfortable bedroom suite offered beautiful views across fells and mountain. The hostess was excellent, very welcoming, very friendly and gave advice on local restaurants and walks (from the front door so no driving). The breakfast was fresh, tasty and well presented, combining with venue, area and hosts to make a wonderful holiday break.

Nothing we didn’t like, should be noted for others that car is needed to access other Lakeland tourist sites although walks and pubs near enough to walk to.

Property is in a quiet rural location with lovely views at the front towards the east. There is a spacious breakfast room facing east and outside sitting areas. The room was clean and comfortable with an ensuite bathroom and an efficient power shower. The hosts were friendly and helpful and we were invited to ask for anything we needed.

The room (room 2 I think) was smaller than the other two rooms and overlooked the garden at the rear of the property. There was a small sofa which was not particularly comfortable, and the shaver socket in the bathroom did not work. Breakfast was adequate rather than exceptional and could be improved by adding, for example, fresh fruit salad, natural yogurt and better quality preserves.

We had a lovely welcome and shown to our room. The decor in the place is of a high standard and well maintained by the owners.. Our room had two windows, with views of the sheep and the Cumbrian countryside.

Nothing not to dislike

The property is in a beautiful setting near Ambleside. The views were breathtaking and even better on a sunny weekend! Dave was the perfect host and on arrival greeted us with Prosecco. The breakfast was also delicious too! Thank you!

Only a minor things, I prefer sleeping in a king size bed and the shower was low pressure (needs updating). It wouldn’t put me off staying again!

The location was beautiful as was the property itself. The hosts where very hospitable and went out of their way to make sure we where comfortable during our stay. Breakfast was great !!

The property was in an ideal location close to Ambleside and Hawkshead. Owners of the property were amazing - lovely warm welcome on arrival and so helpful in recommending local walks and places to eat. Our room was beautiful and spacious and spotlessly clean with amazing mountain views. A good choice of breakfast was included with our stay which was also amazing. Would definitely recommend! We also chose to get taxi into Ambleside in the evening - service was great!

Fantastic quiet location with amazing views from a delightful pristine Country House perched high above Hawkshead en route to Tarn Hows and Ambleside. We were made very welcome by the owners. Lovely breakfast each day in the Conservatory and look forward to being back soon 😃👍!

Breakfast was excellent a good choice and super friendly service. Room (2) over looked the back of the house so view was limited but still very pleasant, only what can I say about the view from just outside the bedroom and downstairs was FABULOUS and don't think you would ever get tired of it.👍👌💖

Lucky stumbled across this gem and had the pleasure of staying the one night. Beautiful room with a breathtaking view & excellent hospitality paired with a beautifully prepared breakfast Will definitely stay again.

Breakfast was delicious....owners were lovely and very helpful regarding places to visit..

Windows were being replaced in conservatory so we ate breakfast in the lounge area...it was a bit noisy during breakfast due to the work.

David and Carrie were extremely accommodating. Welcoming us with a glass of wulled wine on arrival, a lovely surprise! Great location. Lots to do and plenty of trails to explore. David was very helpful with his knowledge of the area. The room, house and grounds are exactly what we were looking for. Very clean and a nice hearty breakfast for a big day walking. What didn't we like. From the staff, to the condition of the rooms and the overall property, the food! I could not recommend this property anymore. I am new to the Lakes and wasn't sure if the location of the property was ideal but after realising we took a wrong turning, we realised the location of this property could not have been any better! Ambelside town centre is maybe a 10 min drive and popular walks/sights are within close proximity. The hosts Dave and Carey treat you like you are the only people there. They will go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable. They recommended a number of walks/routes for us which we followed and it made the trip that much more amazing. They gave us various options for breakfast the next morning and being vegetarian didn't have a concern at all with what was available. The whole place was clean and they are very covid conscious. Deffo rebooking next year!

Breakfast and view very good ,hosts Dave and his wife lovely people would recommend a visit. Are only problem was the weather lots of rain, ! But you that’s the weather for you !
