We love Beachwalk. The house was clean upon arrival. There were some kitchen items that were missing, such as oven mitts. It would also be helpful to have some lamps in the living area. And the lamps in the bedrooms were not good for reading. Otherwise, we were happy with our stay.

This is our second time staying at Beachwalk and our first time at Manatees Retreat. Overall, it was a great experience. Nice location near the playground and the golf cart made getting to the beach, pool, clubhouse very convenient. Appreciated beach chairs, umbrella, sand toys, etc in the little shed. The house was clean, but not sparkling. One TV did not work at all, the others were a bit finicky. The couch needs to be replaced (lots of stains). Kitchen could use a little TLC - 1 cabinet door was broken, a few chipped dishes, no potholders. Fire ring was nice for an evening relaxing around a campfire. Screened in porch was lovely! A place to hang up wet towels might be nice if it could be added somewhere. 5 minute drive to restaurants and outlet mall in Michigan City.

Perfect size for our party of 4, 3 generations. My mom stayed on the 1st floor in the larger bedroom with bath. I utilized the 2nd floor bedroom (comfy bed) with my kids on the top floor. Loved the golf cart (made my mother's mobility much easier) and beach chairs, umbrella, etc... Kitchen sized just right for us. New grill- we used it to grill fresh caught salmon from Lake Michigan that AM. This is our 3rd stay in the resort area (1st at this house). Good location. Cons were: 2nd fl bedroom has very little storage for clothes. Two drawers are nailed shut. The third has the nails protruding from them, which snagged my clothes and was a safety hazard. I did alert resort staff via the feedback form. The 3rd floor bunk bed is so noisy it wakes everyone when the person in the bunk moves (lots of squeaks and creaks). An AC type unit on the 3rd floor is necessary to keep the cool temp, but very loud, so you couldn't hear the TV when it was on unless you turned it up very loud.

We had a great stay at Manatees Retreat! We were traveling with two kids and four adults and the house was perfect for us. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had all the necessary things, and everything was clean. We loved being by the playground and the golf cart was a favorite way to travel around Beachwalk. The small fire pit in the back was perfect for s’more making. We had two minor complaints: - there was limited hot water for baths/showers and we all experienced cold showers throughout the stay - the screened in porch needed some cleaning Overall, great stay and we would stay again!

Great stay and amazing resort. House was very clean and spacious and just what we expected for our family trip. Location right next to playground for our young kids and golf cart was a bonus. Resort is great too, plenty to do to keep everyone entertained. And close access to travel to surrounding beach towns. Will stay again for sure!

This place is super cute, perfect size for a small family. It was very clean, terrific natural light and nicely stocked. There is a playground right next door and a golf cart to use. I liked the community, with fun family activities. The houses are quite close, grilling and fire pit evenings are not private. The quiet hours are not really observed as there was a party next door and firecrackers until midnight. Another negative was the main floor bedroom bed with its crunchy protective sheet. I understand trying to save the mattress but would have been better with a higher quality sheet that didn’t feel like it was old fashioned bed-wetter plastic. I was pleased to see they upgraded the tv’s however. They were all smart tv’s with great wifi. Overall, this place was terrific!

This home was worn and kitchen and cabinet space were sparce. Lack of utensils and peeling paint in cabinets. Couch is old and not comfortable.Our golf cart was in bad shape, no headlights. We received a replacement but not until 3 days into our stay. Air conditioning was inadequate, hot upstairs, freezing downstairs. Stairs should have a runner or carpeting, very slippery.

My husband, two kids and I went and loved the place. Having the golf cart made it very convenient. It's such a cute little beach community and wed love to come back. The pool was great and having access to the little beach and the beach walk is great. There's a nice little playground right near the place, my daughter loved that. We have no complaints. The place was cutely decorated and bright and felt very relaxing. We had everything needed and the people at the beach walk resort are helpful in case you do need something which is nice. We went swimming at the pool and beach, shopping, explored a few shops and farmers markets and ate out a few times and grilled the rest.

Overall our experience was very good, but there were definitely signs of wear in the home. The AC was not able to keep up in cooling the home well, especially upstairs, even with "staggered" drops as requested. I'm glad the daily temps were rarely in the 80's during our stay. Painting touch ups would be good cosmetic details — and no cover on the chair cushion in the living room was not super comfortable. In general, we had a great stay at Beachwalk and were super thankful for the golf cart.

My husband, two kids and I stayed here for a week and found the cabin to be just what we needed. There was plenty of room for us each to have our own private spot when we needed quiet, but the family room and dining room were large enough for us to get together for meals and playing games. We really appreciated having the golf cart... there was no way we could have walked to the beach with our two young kids and all of our beach supplies without it. Another benefit was that it is located towards the back of the neighborhood, so we didn't get a lot of traffic or noise. The house is across the street from the playground, so sometimes you'd hear kids yelling, but that was only during the few hours of the day when we had windows open. For the most part the playground was deserted, and personally, we liked the proximity. Most of the house is surrounded by trees, and one morning we saw two deer! Having a washer/dryer was very handy also. The only downside of our stay was that there were some cleanliness/maintenance issues, such as a rip in the screen door that let in all sorts of bugs (we killed bugs all week long, but expected that given the woods-like setting) and the furniture and rugs were pretty grubby. I realize that it must be hard to keep rental furniture looking nice, but the couch was so stained I didn't feel comfortable sitting on it. The dining room chairs had chair pads that had just been placed over very visible stains that made sitting and eating there a little unpleasant. I would rent this cabin again due to the size, location, and price, but it would help a lot if the furniture had been professionally cleaned and/or covered with washable slipcovers.

While the space was nice, it needs some TLC. Many of the throw rugs were stained (as was the white coach). The walls were very dirty and could some re-painting. The Dish TV has virtually NO channels (which was a huge disappointment given our plan to relax and watch some great college football games on Saturday). The proximity to one of the parks was nice -- and the overall property seemed nice (although nothing really happening in mid-October). The town of Michigan City isn't all that wonderful -- the outlet shopping was OK (not many updates to the mall since it opened when I was young). The Indiana Dunes were closed due to "hazardous conditions" (i.e. a sinkhold was discovered). This was a huge disappontment. I think overall -- I would not recommend this place "out of season."

This is second time staying on one of the Beachwalk properties. We absolutely love the resort area with all the amenities and the property was in the perfect location away from the main street and away from a lot of other people. The property was surrounded by trees and had a great outdoor screened in patio a great firepit area. The house could definitely use a little attention. The TV's were the old tube TV's and were poor quality. The kitchen cabinets were falling apart, the carpet in the living room was dirty and so was the couch. The beds were comfortable in all the rooms and the bathrooms were clean. The place just needs a little sprucing up. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and plan on coming back. Close to the beach, has a great pool for the kids and golf cart to get everywhere on the property.

As soon as we walked in the house we were already asking ourselves if 4 nights was enough. It wasn’t. This home was beautiful! Very spacious and the screened in porch was perfect for eating and enjoying the rain. The pool was wonderful! The access to get to the beach was very convenient. We drove the golf cart to the entrance of the resort and then walked down the boardwalk to a beautiful private beach. We had our 1.5 year old with us and it was great because we hardly had to baby proof at all. This is probably one of the most secluded houses in the resort as well as there is an open wooded lot next door. We loved that aspect. I have absolutely nothing but great things to say about this property. My elderly grandmother had a suggestion of maybe installing a handrail in the shower to make it easier for older folks. The only bad experience we had with the trip was the last night my mothers car was broken into. The middle consul was gone through and money was taken. They also stole her handicap parking tag from the mirror. Not sure if it was a fellow guest at another house or someone from outside. The home is beautiful and will definitely be staying there again!

We took out teenage son and his friend to the beach for an extended weekend before school starts. This house was perfect! It is so cute and surrounded by trees which made it seem very private. Loved making a fire in the firepit and loved sitting on the screened in back porch...a deer actually came up to the house. The golf cart is a definite plus. I am going to stay here again and would highly recommend it.

We had a great stay! We have stayed in past years at the beachwalk vacation properties, and we loved the community and things to do. I love how easy they make the check-in process, very well organized and home was ready and clean when we arrived. We loved the location and privacy of manatee retreat, and that it comes with the golf cart during our stay. We also loved the screened porch area of the home. Only negative was the condition of some dishes, old and broken pots/pans. But other than that, everything was great!

We love Beachwalk Resort and have stayed at many properties over the last 10 years. Unfortunately this property did not measure up. The furniture and overall cleanliness of the home needs a bit of a facelift, the cable did not work so we had no TV and the weather wasn't the best during our stay so TV was a must. Overall good experience. I was surprised to see so many homes in one area. I had something else in mind - it really is like an addition. Great location tho (close to beach). Overall cozy home. Remote control broken. Porch lights (front and back broken - told management but never fixed during our stay). Golf cart major plus. Kitchen fairly stocked. Enough to do your own cooking. Al's grocery nearby. Took forever to get my refund back. Went over labor day (~9/5) and I just received refund on 9/21 for my deposit. I called earlier to find out status of my refund and the office staff indicated that it was processed on 9/6 but it never was???? So be patient on your refund. You will get it back, just may take awhile! Again, cozy home - I just wish it was in a more of a semi-private setting. I was unaware there were so many homes at that location.

We love Beachwalk and the amenities, but I don't think we can stay at this property again. We stayed here two years ago, and when we came back this summer, we were disappointed. It was really dirty. It seemed as though it never receives a deep cleaning. The bathrooms had been cleaned, but there was so much dust and dirt everywhere it was hard to ignore. It is such a cute house, but it really needs a deep clean.

We love the location of Manatees, tucked back in the rear of the property. Our kids are able to walk to the playground safely and cruise the area on their bikes. The house is spacious and provides most everything we needed during our stay.
